My visit to Natural Balance was for a massage. They also offer chiropractic & acupuncture services as well. The location was easy to find with plenty of parking. The facility had an updated modern decor, with relaxing background music playing softly. There wasn't a receptionist but signage indicated that - you just walk in & sit down. Within a few minutes my Massage Therapist, Darlin came out & brought me back to a massage room. When I made the appointment it was required to book with a credit card & the price included a 20% tip. I paid in total $114 for a 60 minute massage, however the actual massage was about 50 minutes. The 60 minutes included a few minutes of discussion, the time for me to prepare plus the massage. My appointment was at 11:45 AM & the massage ended at 12:45PM. Darlin's massage was absolutely amazing - very skilled & a great listener! She was really able to work on my problem areas. Darlin was quiet during the massage, which I appreciated. Some therapists talk a lot & that can make it hard to relax. After my massage I felt great! I highly recommend Darlin & plan on returning for another massage. read more

I've been a patient now for 2 years with Natural Balance. I think I may have visited with all the doctors and I've been pleased with their services. Only thing I did not love was that since I was absent for a year, I was charged a 'new visit' fee (I can't recall exactly what it's called) and instead of the usual visit cost it was $75. Mind you I didn't see much of a difference from this visit besides more time with the doctor. Since I was in need of an adjustment due to migraines I didn't try to discuss it. Also wish they took insurance with Aetna. Other than those two minor grievances I will continue to visit Natural Balance and would recommend them :) next thing to try is their massages since they have great reviews! read more

This review is for the acupuncture. I have never been to an acupuncturist that needs to look at a tablet in order to know where to place the needles. This tells me they are very inexperienced with the practice. I also felt no different after the session. This has never happened with other acupuncture I have recieved. 3 stars are for the friendly staff and clean establishment. Would not reccomend to anyone going in for acupuncture. read more

Natural Balance does not honor their own gift certificates. I bought my wife a massage for Christmas in December of 2019. I bought a one hour massage which was quoted at $70.00, and included an additional amount for a tip of $15.00. Natural Balance provided me with a paper gift certificate indicating that it was for a one hour massage including tip. My wife was pleased with the gift. She redeemed the certificate in January of 2020, and they told her that the gift certificate was no longer sufficient to cover the massage and the tip. The price of the massage had increased $10.00 - up from $70 to $80. They said that unless my wife paid more, the masseuse would only get a small tip. I don't care about the ten dollars, but I feel cheated. I can't believe that my wife had to pay more for a gift that was paid in full! Businesses have reputations just like people. This business is untrustworthy. They should have honored the gift certificate as it was purchased. read more

I have never been to a chiropractor before Natural Balance so I don't have a ton of experience to compare it to. However, I do know that I really, really like the doctor I saw. And I know that I went in with a weird neck pain that was preventing me from turning my head completely in one direction and that after two visits it's 100% back to normal and I can turn my head in almost-exorcist circles. (Okay, okay. Not really, but it feels that way compared to the way it felt before.) I was able to get an appointment rather quickly and a follow up one as needed. There was no waiting once I showed up. And as I mentioned I really, really liked Dr. Gerson If you are in need of a chiropractor (or any service they offer) I'd easily recommend checking out Natural Balance. read more

I found my first appointment extremely helpful. AND I understand the policy for missing an appointment, especially for repeat offenders. HOWEVER, if I am in unforeseen circumstances and have to miss an appointment. Especially as a new customer, I would assume there would some leniancy. Charging $50 for a missed appointment at place that says they want to help with mind and body health seems to go against their overall vision. I am extremely displeased. read more

I have been to 4 chiropractors on and off over the past 10 years, and I have never had as thorough of an intake exam as I had with Dr. Young. She actually touched my muscles! I know, can you believe it?! Instead of just shooting an xray and then popping me in one or two places, she used every minute of her initial visit interviewing me, checking my alignment, looking at my back and posture, feeling my problem areas, and even areas I hadn't mentioned. I really feel like she was able to get the "whole picture" about what might be causing my various aches and pains. On my first visit, she hooked me up to an electrostim machine (similar to a TENS unit, if you'd had experience with that), which served to fatigue my tight lower back/hip muscles, to make them more relaxed when she proceeded to adjust me. She also massaged my neck (just as good as my deep tissue massages!) and lower back. And then, of course, adjusted me. In subsequent visits, she has employed a vibration technique as well. (I feel like such a novice not being able to better explain the techniques properly--but I can say, they worked!). She continues to massage my neck and shoulders on each visit, and then gets more "pops" than I thought possible (probably each cervical vertebrae!). I have hip pain, which was exacerbated by a recent visit to my physical therapist. I expressed concern that I was going on a long backpacking trip this weekend, and was unable to get back in to see my PT. Dr. Young was able to massage and adjust the area, and I walked out feeling looser and better than I had in a week! She and her husband are both active, and she is able to provide personal knowledge to advise me on stretches and foam rolling techniques to allow me to keep doing the activities I want to do...even before I am "fixed". I also like that I don't get pressured to come in 3x/week, like I feel is a common request for chiropractors. My schedule wouldn't permit it, my insurance wouldn't cover it, and it just seems a little overkill, which is why I think chiros sometimes get a bad rap. I've seen her once a week for the past 3 weeks, and I feel far better than when I started! read more

Twinkie has a groin sprain, so what does going to Chiropractor have to do with that! Everything, We went and seen Dr. Jason here to get her realigned. And to come to find out her hip was way off, and it was rotating down and in. Well if that's the case then her muscles are not working correctly and one leg could be over compensating for the other, which leads to sprains! So Dr. Jason did his evaluation showed me where her hip was off and showed me how one leg was much shorter then the other! He then got to work and started tugging and pulling, cracking feet & putting knees & feet back in alignment. then did flying knee bar onto her side and popped her hip into the right position, I almost pulled out my Nacho Libre mask and yelled its one like Donkey Kong! Ok it wasn't really a WWF move but he put a lot of pressure onto her made this daddy cringe a little and then worked her spine and fixed a couple of other things. Then he showed me how her legs were now both essentially the same length. Twinkie immediately said she could feel a difference and feels looser, her groin was and is getting better and this type of maintenance is crucial in stopping the injury from being reoccurring. We will be back Saturday for a deep tissue massage and the Dr. Jason is going to work on her a little more. I am old school and was never a elite sprinter or jumper like Twinkie, I would have rubbed some dirt on the sprain, spit on it and wrapped it with Ace and kept going! But times have changed and there's new science and thoughts about Chiropractic, for anyone who has a child that is an athlete no matter the sport its a good idea to get into the chiropractor to ensure everything is in alignment. Its a great way to keep your child in the best shape and to avoid injuries, know you wont have to go once a month like us but at least once a season wouldn't hurt! read more

I arrived for my appointment this morning only to be told by what I found out later to be the office manager, that a voicemail was left 2 days ago saying I had to schedule a re-evaluation appointment and that it would not be for a few months. I AM IN PAIN, and have been and had to wait a week in order to see the chiropractor Dr Young. I arrive, told the above information, look at my phone, apparently there is a voicemail from yesterday - not two days as stated by THE OFFICE MANAGER. I'm frustrated. Office manager, "I will not take your anger". Sorry, if you think acceptable to have to reschedule for over 8 weeks is ok, NO! For anyone that goes to the chiropractor, the exam itself takes mere minutes. A re-evaluation should have been SCHEDULED THEN. I even used their online tool OnPatient. There was NO DISCLAIMER that I would have had to be re-evaluated. Why, WHY wait until - what the office manager thinks is acceptable to look at their "policy appointments" and think a day early is acceptable. The appointment should have been flagged WAY EARLIER and accommodated professionally. Dr Young, is AMAZING, the office manager, NOT! Dr Young, I still need to be seen, and your office manager has my contact details. P.S. I have been going to NB for a very long time and paid out of pocket rates because my insurance did not take it! read more

Oh how I mistook Dr. Young for a sweet young woman....she is actually the master of pain......it SUCH a good way. She has that "hurt so good" technique down to a science. She is small but mighty, young and smart....don't let her age or size fool you.....this Dr knows her stuff. I have numerous shoulder, knee, and back issues and after one visit - she made a good difference in my level of pain. She explains herself in layman's terms and is very detailed. As a parent you can see from the statement /response by Dr. Young if in fact that is who is responding? Dr. Young does not have kids and they are more concerned about their POLICY then their patients well being or life situation. They are not customer oriented they are all about their policy(money). If you read thier responses to me and other customers you can see it is all business and not about making the customer happy. Very few business are about the customer now a days its unfortunate but true. In Dr. Youngs case she not only lost my business but my wife business. Also just a little advice for NBIH, in running a business it is supported by customers thats how you thrive and survive. Word of mouth is your best advertisement. Each circumstance should be evaluated independently of any policy no matter if it is their first offensive or third offensive. Life happens and everyone has situations that are not in their control. A business success is based off of long term not short term relationships. I hope this helps you to recosider your stances on your own written policies for future customers. Disgusting company took advantage of me. This place offered me 50 dollars a visit then charged me full rates without my knowing over 400 dollars some days. They said I wouldn't have to worry about my bill until I settled with an insurance company. They took me to court, threatened my credit, and their work was terrible. I ended up paying over 4000 over what they initially said it would cost me and had to seek care elsewhere. read more

I got one claims story (via a letter and verbal) from Natural Balance and another story from my insurance company. I love going to NBIH for a massage. I think Liz is the best massage therapist I have ever been to. I was so lucky to get an appointment with her at the last minute when I had tweaked my head/neck and she was able to relax it and work out the pain. Bless her! I also went to the chiropractor there, I did not see Dr. Young, but they had another part-time chiropractor and I really liked her. I only went a couple of times to the chiropractor, but she was able to help me with some pain from a ski fall. My co-worker sees Dr. Young on a regular basis and really likes her. Wow - Dr. Young is great! I hurt myself over 4 months ago and have been actively trying to be free from the lingering pain. Before going to Dr. Young, I had seen 2 other chiropractors, a rolfer, massage therapist and acupuncturist - but the pain in my neck and upper back persisted. After one session with Dr. Young, I left the office feeling so much better! I finally have hope that I will heal - I only wish I had discovered her practice months ago. To begin, this my first time writing a review on Yelp. I found Dr. Young through Yelp and felt it was necessary to let others know how happy I am with this business. I am 36 weeks pregnant and began to have really bad hip/back pain causing me discomfort with walking/stairs/playing with my 2 yr old etc. After two visits with her, the pain is gone! She is a true professional and great educator about the entire process. I have been skeptical and only been to a couple of chiropractors in the past, but now I am a true believer. My husband also went to her this week and he has had multiple experiences with chiropractors. He claims she gave the best adjustment he has ever had! Dr. Young came highly recommended by a some other clients/patients, which encouraged me to switch from a different chiropractor located far away. What I love about Dr. Young's style: - She does not pressure you into weekly wellness visits, as do some DCs, but assesses your health and goes from there. I started weekly based on my injuries and I've worked up to 1/month visits for maintenance. Her therapy is science-based. - She uses massage (the 'hurt so good' kind as referenced by a few other reviewers) to loosen up muscles before adjustment. - She communicates clearly what she wants to do in terms of adjustment, and why. Her recommendations are practical, never preachy. - She does not claim to do it all, my biggest peeve in the alternative world. She will refer you to PT, massage, physiatrist, acupuncture etc. based on your needs. That said, we've discussed various nutrition, fitness and other health topics of which she's highly knowledgeable. - She is timely. We've never started more than 3 or 4 minutes past my scheduled appt time. I am not sure about all the fuss on cancellation fees. This is standard ops at any health/medical practice. The Doctors and staff at NBIH are all amazing!!! I can't live happily without chiropractic care and massages for stress relief. I usually make appointments like a normal person. This practitioner does not provide care in accordance with their health insurance provider agreement. My wife sought care here and directed them to bill our health insurance company. They failed to do so in a timely fashion and as a result the health insurance company rejected the claim as is consistent with the provider agreement. They are now trying to collect the full balance from me despite the fact my insurance company has sent them several cease and desist letters. This has been a disaster to deal with and the people at Natural Balance Integrative Health could not have been more rude or disrespectful during the process. I would advise anyone and everyone to stay away from this practice. I will be requesting that my insurance company drop the practice from their covered providers list. read more
