I first scheduled an appointment with her when my right lower back was killing me out of nowhere one day, and I walked out of our session almost totally pain free. The muscle continued to release over the next day and I felt completely better. She has also given me advice on stretches and exercises I can do at home to mitigate various points of pain and tension. She clearly knows what she's doing and I'll be back for more sessions!

Physical therapy helps but my muscles also need kneading and loosening. This is what Dawn does for me. You can pay it forward with her as well and ensure someone else can get a massage even if they can't afford it. She uses high quality ingredients which do not cause an allergic reaction on my sensitive skin. She throughly cleans the massage table and area after each client. She also has a covering on the face support so you don't have to wear a mask when laying down. This is changed after each client. She wears a mask and washes her hands often. I highly recommend her.

The facility had an updated modern decor, with relaxing background music playing softly. There wasn't a receptionist but signage indicated that - you just walk in & sit down. I paid in total $114 for a 60 minute massage, however the actual massage was about 50 minutes. The 60 minutes included a few minutes of discussion, the time for me to prepare plus the massage. My appointment was at 11:45 AM & the massage ended at 12:45PM. Darlin's massage was absolutely amazing - very skilled & a great listener! She was really able to work on my problem areas. Darlin was quiet during the massage, which I appreciated. Some therapists talk a lot & that can make it hard to relax. After my massage I felt great! I highly recommend Darlin & plan on returning for another massage.

I felt there was nothing to lose and no where else to turn. I did my research - she was in-network and accepted my health insurance but I also read reviews about her. Those reviews are what propelled me to give it a try. Not only has Sylvia addressed each of my issues individually and grounded me, she has helped me with a host of other non-related items such as health, nutrition, body temperature (always being cold) as well as fertility. I no longer have knee or back pain so ski season was a success this year AND I'm looking forward to being on the bike this spring/summer/fall! I would not recommend doing anything physical afterwards (riding a bike, gym, etc) and allow your body time to heal. I felt relaxed for days after a treatment. Every time I went - I was comforted by the herbal aromas, the warmth, the comfortable beds/pillows and the music. I found myself meditating during the "healing" process and felt not only rejuvenated but relaxed and pain free afterwards. Sylvia is a breath of fresh air from traditional Western medicine. Most doctors want to see you in/out as quickly as possible. They don't really listen and definitely don't believe in alternative healing methods other than medication, medication, medication. Sylvia takes the time to get to know you, to understand what's bothering you and recommends alternative ways to "heal" and be well in conjunction with anything you may doing with your regular doctor(s). She believes in healing with diet, acupuncture and herbal remedies. She specializes in women's fertility and is a wealth of information. She really listens and I truly respect her as a professional. I wish she would write a book! She sends confirmation emails for your next appointment, reminders as well as electronic receipts. She's very flexible too as I've had to reschedule a few times around work meetings. Sylvia and the Denver Center for Acupuncture receive 5 stars from me!!!

Furthermore, this is a review about a specific provider, not of acupuncture itself. Now, I could go on for days about my apprehensions about acupuncture, reluctance to give it a shit, frustration with my particular issues (sinus and digestive), and eventual willingness to give it a try, but that's not applicable to the review. You can track down my blog for that if it's something you want to explore. So let's talk about this business. Simply put, it is excellent. So is Sylvia. It's a great little building, out of the way with its own little courtyard and off-street parking (a rarity in this area!) There's one chair in the front room, and that's all they'll ever need, as there's rarely a wait. Appointments are honored on time, service is prompt but relaxed and always professional. Rates are fair, appointments are confirmed electronically, and everything is just awesome, convenient, and extremely comfortable. Cleanliness is certainly a factor, and this place is impeccably clean. There's so much to be delighted with. Sylvia is every bit as amazing as the space in which she works. (I'm sure these things tend to go hand in hand, so it's not surprising.) She's easy to work with, asks all the right questions, ensures you're comfortable, and does gets to work. After your acupuncture session (which will differ, I'm sure, depending on your needs), you'll find yourself in an uncommonly relaxed state. During this time, you'll want to focus inward on your calm bliss. Somehow, Sylvia manages to handle all the tricky administrative stuff (payment [even flexible spending accounts!], scheduling, etc) in such an easy, flowing manner that your calm is never disturbed. You float out of the office to your transportation. At this point, you're on your own for maintaining that blissful calm. Maybe take a few minutes to relish it on a bench in the courtyard before you dive back into traffic. :)
