I love this little place snack in the heart of Pensacola Beach. The shrimp chowder is rich and potato-y and the fish tacos were perfectly seasoned and dressed. We like everything here - even the t-shirts. The crab cakes are meh, but you can tell a lot of love and care goes into making them. Desserts looked delicious but alas, they were ready to close, so our check came first. This is a fun, funky place that feels local but has to be filled with tourists. Very cute and cheerful cafe hidden in a strip mall towards the end of town, my husband saw it recommended highly on another travel board. We sat down pretty quickly, and we were immediately greeted by Wendy with her beautiful personality and amazing smile. Yes it was so big we could tell it was amazing under her mask. We had the best breakfast and it was definitely one of our best meals while vacationing here in Pensacola Beach. Biscuits and Gravy are usually meh, you always order with high hopes then need to pepper the gravy...NOT HERE, probably the best gravy I have had on a biscuit ever at a restaurant! The potatoes were seasoned nicely as well...Great experience all around, ask for Wendy to serve you....you can't help but be in a good mood after meeting up with this wonderful young lady. Nicely decorated with a local flavor.....narrow with perhaps 12 tables, flavored with local paintings (for sale), service very efficient and very friendly. Now the food.......I've had breakfast here four times in the last 3 weeks at various times in the AM hour. Consistently with every meal my meal was NOT delivered hot or moderately warm.......needless to say I have not been pleased. Each time I did not sent my order back.....thinking that being busy they had a minor problem. But today was the last straw...they do have a problem and their food is NOT tasty and low average in taste. We were a table of 3 and our total was almost $40.00 plus tip. My suggestion to you is dine in another location of your choice. Poor taste and not worth the money. Great little breakfast spot!! I had blueberry pancakes (order the syrup on the side. It's literally corn syrup) and a mimosa! Both per exactly as expect. Pancakes are huge!! Bf ordered crab cakes Benny. He loved them! He was pretty hungry (read hungover) so he ordered an extra side of hash browns with cheese and onion. They aren't really hash browns, more like chunked potatoes, definitely still good, just something to be aware of‍ Overall I would recommend this place as a low key basic breakfast place. Cute interior decor and the wait goes pretty fast if you're a party of 4 or less. Service was perfect and coffee cup was never less than half full. So good we went twice. Convenient location for us on our trip to the area. Across the street from our hotel , lunch was first then brunch the next morning. For brunch we started out with a Bloody Mary for me & mimosa for the Mrs. Both were very strong and hit the spot after the night before. We arrived at little after 9:00 in the morning on a Sunday and the only seating left was 2 stools at the bar. You'll notice all the locals artwork on the walls for sale of scenery and landmarks in the area. I throughly enjoyed my crab cakes Benedict and my wife the same with her Huevos Rancheros. Nice little place, run by the locals that is open for breakfast & lunch only. Believe they close around 3ish in the afternoon. Our service was great & on point. Never letting our coffee cups go to empty.They were lining up outside by the time we left a short time later. A pleasant little find. read more

Order the Gulf Coast Seafood omelette--seriously, unless you're allergic to seafood, you will be in heaven. Best omelette I've ever had. Son had french toast-delish! The pancakes are fresh to order! Hubs had the Benedict Arnold--he licked his plate. Worth the wait, if there is one, but we got here around 830a on a Wednesday and walked right in. Review Time: Native Cafe Saw several people post about this place for brunch/breakfast, so you know I have to try it. This place was stacked busy and we only had four groups in front of us and literally got sat in no less than 5 minutes. Greeted with excellent southern hospitality. I love when I'm being indecisive and the waitress has an option off the bat. Took no more than 5 minutes to get our food. This kitchen has it together!!! So I had shrimp and grits for my meal and he got the Hungry Native. The grits had a kick to them. Couldn't tell you came from? Maybe white pepper? But I love spicy food and the slight cheese hint was good enough for me. Came with blackened shrimp, which were cooked perfectly. So the shrimp and grits were good, but nothing to rave about. It could have used some type of sauce to throw it over the top. Hate to say it, but Fish House still holds the title for best shrimp and grits. The Hungry Native was just your standard breakfast. The hash brown were cooked crispy and not greasy. The bacon was cooked perfect. The fluffy pancake was massive and tasty. We did like the mimosas. Decent champagne with combo of oj. So overall, always looking forward to trying a new place. But will I be back? Probably not...I enjoy other brunch places better. By the way, was not happy about the way public criticism was done amongst the staff. Praise in public and criticize in private. Made things awkward. Ahhhh. These delicious little breakfast/lunch spots are what I love finding when visiting a new town (Pensacola beach). I did a little digging on yelp and ended up at the Native Cafe for my last meal of my vacation. They serve breakfast until 1130, lunch from 11-3pm. (They don't do dinner) Getting there at 11, I was craving both breakfast and lunch flavors. We ordered crab cakes to start, that were absolute heaven and easily topped any I had consumed before in my lifetime. For my entree I gave in to my breakfast cravings and ordered what I'd consider to be a pretty standard platter- eggs, bacon, home fries, toast. Nothing unique or creative. But my god, was everything perfect in every possible way. Such a satisfying meal. My boyfriend got something I'd consider unique- a seafood stuffed omelette with mahi, crab, and a few other meats. He loved it! Service was friendly and our wait was quick despite a line out the door and minimal seating (it's a pretty small place). I will absolutely be back the next time I visit Pensacola. read more

The fish tacos were very good. I wish I could say nice things about the rest of the table'a orders. For starters, the nachos were made with store bought round chips like the kind that come with movie nachos and a tiny cup of cheese. It caught me off guard at how impersonal that was for a restaurant that had such high reviews. The nachos also has a terrible topping to chip ratio. Basically, the mixture on top was stingy, and the chips were left dry and lonely at the bottom. The seafood sampler came on the world's tiniest plate. It looked like an appetizer plate and not an entree plate. The grilled fish was good that came with it. The rice literally looked like only two tablespoons worth. For 13.99, I have seen better. The gumbo and crabcakes were just okay. Bottom line: the food here is off in some areas. The restaurant itself was clean. There is not much seating inside or parking outside. read more

This little breakfast place is a gem. Small and quaint but has amazing service. Susie was our waitress and she was super friendly and attentive. The food is amazing! I have never had eggs cooked so perfectly. They also make their own sauces which have sensational flavors. Their hot sauce and hollandaise- yum!!!! My fiancé got the native breakfast burrito and although smaller in size, he said was phenomenal and the eggs were "fluffy" and "light." I ordered the classic eggs Benedict which was out of this world. Never really order this because I am not always a fan of some hollandaise, but when Susie said the sauce was made in house I wanted to try, and I'm so glad I did! Definitely give this place a shot. Only downside is the smaller portions but hey, now I am not in a breakfast food coma and only beer and wine not a full liquor license but that's especially fine for breakfast. Thus Native Cafe was a refreshing change from the past 5-days of dining experiences while visiting this area. The food was not bar style or straight from the deep fryer.
