Worst of all, they will tell you they can come back out and look at the issue via the phone (even though it has not been a year since installation) but will only tell you after arriving there will be a service charge. My main issue was that my previous system was not keeping up with temperature when the hot outside reached above 92 F. I contacted them and asked if it was the system, the duct system, insulation issues or my windows, and they said a new system would fix the problem. I accepted and they sold me a new system. When installing they found mold within the system, so they recommended an air purification system to go along with the HVAC. Having a baby in the way I accepted no doubt to what I asked "if thats on the system, could that be in the ducts as well?" to which they replied "we checked when installing and no issues were found, plus the purification system will prevent that" so I trusted that response. The next weeks the AC upstairs (Damper system) was not functioning and temperatures were reaching as high as 90F inside the second floor. I reached out, they sent a technician to tell me it would be an additional $1.5K to fix. I call them very angry as they never mentioned that and this should have been resolved when installed. They agree and send a crew the next week to fix without a cost. I liked that. It was September/Oct already so heat went down and AC didnt need to work so hard so no issues there. In summer of 2024 the HVAC system could not keep up with temperatures over 92 F - which was my main issue to start with. I called them several times, they sent 3-4 different technicians that tried filing up the gas in the system, switching stuff, or just simply telling me "it was too hot outside and that wsa the issue". After dealing with that all summer I was fed with that and call them angry again, to what they told me "we will send the best technician we have" and they did. This super technician came and told me the duct system was not set up properly, and needed to be updated, with a price tag of $1.5K. I called them angry again since that was my question to begin with when quoting them for a system, and have been ghosted ever since. Its been 3 months now. On a separate story, my family and I have been having health issues without explanation. We did some mold testing here and there with negatives coming up, only to look into one of the ducts directly connected to the system and finding a goooood ole black mold colony hiding in there - even when having a air purification system, and having the installing team they saw nothing when installing. So not only they have costed me 1.5 summers with the same issue I originally had, $13-14k in costs, Health issues for me, my wife and my baby, but they also are now ghosting me and refusing to answer my emails or calls. This for me is as evil as it gets, and should not be even considered within your options for any type of services. He then said that since the units were so old he recommended both units be replaced and would have someone out to talk about units and financing. He left and never bothered to tell us that he had pulled the fuse box to the unit so we could have replaced it once the unit thawed. He also never returned the thermostats to their settings. Was without a/c for two days before another company could get out here to find the disconnected fuse. Checked all systems and they were fine. Total con job to try to get a commission. Extremely dissatisfied.

The purchase included a 10-year parts warranty and a 2-year labor warranty, which was a primary reason I chose them. Our heating system failed completely within just 1.5 years, well within the warranty period. What followed was an unacceptable experience. Despite numerous calls and text messages, the contractor has been almost entirely unresponsive. After the initial breakdown left my family--including young children--in a very cold house, after many calls and text he came to check the issue once but provided no fix and no follow-up plan. My wife said he said he found the issue and will come back in the morning to replace the bad part. Since that visit, he has completely ignored all subsequent communication. This isn't just poor service; it's a breach of contract and a dereliction of his warranty obligation. He took our money for a premium system and installation, then abandoned us the moment his work proved faulty. We were left to suffer in a freezing home during cold weather, which is an absolute failure of a basic HVAC contractor's duty. Do not be misled by advertised warranties. This contractor does not stand behind his work. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic concern for a family with small children is appalling. After I agreed, they showed up early Thursday morning, around 8:00 AM, pulled the old equipment, installed the new, had everything inspected, tested the system, installed a new thermostat and carbon monoxide detector, and where on their way. Total time start to finish, about 5.5 hours! My neighbor recommended them to me, and I recommend them to you! I had another estimate from another company, also very reputable, but they were about 20% more expensive, and at this price point, that's a lot!

So this Zoning option upsold by the so called Comfort specialist Marco was a complete money grab and it was like throwing down money down the drain and into the coffers of John Adams. The extra work and the delay in installation was because of change in furnace a decision made by Adams based on non availability of the agreed upon unit at the time of install and the lack of accurate measurements by their comfort specialist - Marco-- all of which was their fault. They could have pre ordered the agreed upon unit or measured the attic space correctly. Somehow Adams takes pride in extra work they did which was a direct result of their own incompetence and lack of due diligence before the installation. I was never happy with the delay and was livid during installation and had expressed my frustration to Marco and installation team and even spoke with the service manager and expressed my displeasure the day of the installation as we had to sleep in the home without a functioning AC . So Adams and their installation team could not fit the unit in the attic space since they didn't know how much space was required for the unit and who was responsible for measuring the Attic space prior to install - one MARCO FERREIRA !! This is like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand was doing.. If Marco had measured the Attic space correctly than the delay would have not happened and also there was no need to reconfigure the attic space and extra work Adams seems to take a misplaced sense of pride.. So you don't do the due diligence and prep work and that causes the delay and result in doing the extra work and customer not having a functioning AC overnight and somehow the business takes pride in this botched installation.. Bravo !! So Marco or team who is responding to the review conveniently leaves out the detail about not measuring correctly the attic space and prep work that could have prevented the extra work and delay all of which was their own fault and doing... They also overcharge way more than average price for their service contracts and find certain parts such as Air Switches etc that needs to be replaced and overcharge for the installation. I will not recommend this business to anyone in Charlotte as there are plenty of honest HVAC providers out there.
