I highly recommend NasCair! The technician came out, inspected the AC, tried a few things, then gave me the diagnosis. Unfortunately, I needed a complete new system. I'd been expecting this for a while as the system was installed on 1992, some 34 years ago. They offered me a choice of a few systems and told me that they could install it the following Thursday. After I agreed, they showed up early Thursday morning, around 8:00 AM, pulled the old equipment, installed the new, had everything inspected, tested the system, installed a new thermostat and carbon monoxide detector, and where on their way. Total time start to finish, about 5.5 hours! My neighbor recommended them to me, and I recommend them to you! I had another estimate from another company, also very reputable, but they were about 20% more expensive, and at this price point, that's a lot! read more

I hired this company for an HVAC inspection on a property we're purchasing based on their good reviews. They arrived on time, which is the only reason I'm giving one star. After completing the inspection, I asked the technician to explain their findings so we could quickly discuss any issues. Instead, I was told everything would be in the report and that it would be sent to me shortly. They seemed unwilling to provide any in-person explanation, which was frustrating given that I was right there and have been waiting for a few hours. When I received the report, I realized it missing repair cost. I asked for repair estimates since they already had the model numbers and details so I can provide the repair cost to the seller, but they refused. Shockingly, they told me that because I'm a potential buyer and not the homeowner, company policy prevents them from providing any accurate cost estimates. This made no sense to me, especially since it was clear from the beginning that this inspection was for a home purchase. Their policy doesn't make sense and wasn't communicated beforehand. They might do great work on other repairs, but I wouldn't recommend them for HVAC inspections. I paid over $400 and had to hire another company to redo the work--unfortunately, a waste of time and money. read more

We had an issue with our home AC not cooling, and ended up requiring a complete replacement. I have a home warranty service for HVAC repairs however I decided to reached out to NASCAIR because I trusted and valued their service technicians knowledge. I've use NASCAir previously for routine servicing of my HVAC and felt their professionalism and technical expertise was the right choice to completely replace of my entire HVAC system. When they showed up, Santos, Aiden and Norman was part of the crew of 5 that was very professional and explained in detail all work needed to be done. They arrived at my home promptly as scheduled and was able to replace my unit within a few hours. Absolutely the best company within Charlotte area for all HVAC servicing and repairs . My AC Stopped working (Educational moment to come) and I wanted to use Nascair, and the wife said they could be a bunch of yahoos (My Word lol) I said they have 4.5 stars on Yelp, So I submitted the YELP professional referral system to work and these guys popped up. I get a message before darn near everyone from Nascair. David messaged me and said give the office a call and I spoke to a very hard working, making the best of her phone getting blown up, Jennifer on the phone and what a wonderful person to talk to. She set me up with Craig who she stated was for 830 but he would probably call before then, 830 cam and I did not hear from him so I sent a message and the proprietor emailed back and said between 830a - 10? So I think this would be my only issue is the communication break down between Jennifer and them. It does not change my opinion at all of this place as I normally keep expectations low for first contact with businesses I have never worked with before. Craig came out asked to see the unit completely checked it out and told me my unit was in very good condition and working perfectly! YEAH!! lol Thinking the same as I was what?? It stopped working, would not start and he proceeds to tell me you know what this plastic box on your electrical meter is for instead of the Clear Glass meter normally found on your meter, (Educational Moment) well during high electrical demand points in the day DUKE can turn off your AC unit for up to 4 hours, they should give you credit for this box ( I AM Checking). Cost me instead of $99 for Service call it was $74 and a Little more than another company at $59 but let me tell you something, I felt No Bull from Craig and His Southern Accent with aussie Draw is sort of awesome..lol..As far as I am concerned this company has a Customer for life. The owner, Dave came out and serviced my house this week. It was the same day I called his dispatcher. The service was excellent! He had my upstairs air conditioner up and running within 90 minutes. My experience with scheduling and with my technician were favorable; however, my interaction with the Operations Manager Michael was very poor. Simply put, I had a full unit replaced 3 years ago. The unit failed and was diagnosed as a broken compressor (a part still under warranty). While I understand Nascair has their own labor costs, my request was if they could work with me at all on pricing of the labor (as the repair was very costly as a broken compressor is one of the most significant repairs to a unit). I understand if nothing could be done to meet me part of the way on cost (despite the fact that the unit was only 3 years old which certainly seems...unusual). Michael was not considerate at all to my request and was incredibly smug. He attempted to misrepresent the situation to me by stating he had "already cut me a deal" on the cost (referring to the fact that the part was under warranty). He in no way cut me any deal. The part was under warranty with the manufacturer. He was proposing to (and did in fact) bill me 100% of standard rates on the repair. When I pointed this out to him, he became defensive and smug and suggested to me that I simply wasn't a good enough customer to warrant getting any type of discount (i.e., I didn't have a maintenance plan with Nascair). I found this very disrespectful. I engaged them to replace a unit in 2020 and was calling them for a significant repair now. I previously asked to be quoted a cost to repair and replace my damper system as well (something Nascair never got back to me on when previously requested). I guess I wasn't a good enough customer to be treated respectfully by Michael. Even if the answer was no discount could be granted, that is not the issue. His attitude, dismissiveness, and misrepresentation was a poor experience. read more

We've used Nascair since purchasing our first house in Charlotte 8 years ago. They installed a new furnace & air conditioner in our current home 4 years ago and have been servicing them both semi-annually. During our Spring check-up we were charged for a part that was covered by the warranty although we were not aware of the fact. When Stan came yesterday to service our furnace, we mentioned the situation. He immediately said we should not have been charged, made a call to the office and had the amount deducted from our bill! Obviously the 3 ton I have now is NOT working and what does he care that I want a 3 1/2 ton. Obviously he does not need my business. I would NOT recommend this company. I got charged an invoice of $95 for absolutely no work. They showed up same day I called, which was great. I was under the impression they would diagnose my issue and give me a quote. He inspected my unit and gave me a diagnosis and we left it at that so I could think about what to do. I got charged $95 for that visit with absolutely no repairs done. Every other company I called gave me a free diagnosis and quote. I understand your time is valuable but $95 for a 10 minute visit where no work is done is ridiculous. Not certain why they felt the need to escalate this conversation to involving a deity when a simple apology would have sufficed.?. My A/C recently went out on the hottest day of the year so far. It was not pleasant. Adding to my sweating was the knowledge that I was probably going to have a major repair bill. I called Nascair and scheduled an appointment. I called on a Monday and they scheduled me for the following day. Much to my excitement, the technician called me later that day, said he was in the area and could stop by that same day if I was available. He arrived, quickly diagnosed my problem as only a bad capacitor. He actually had the part on his truck, and was able to repair me on the spot. Wow! That was a blessing. They are honest and have never taken advantage of an awful situation (no AC in 90 degree weather). The first time I called them, David the owner, was my technician. I have since, gotten to know his partner, Mike and a host of other service personnel. During a recent maintenance visit, technician Danny Cabe, without me mentioning it, noticed an airflow issue I've had for 15 years, and took the initiative to solve it! These guys rock. I've been a GC for almost 20 years and finally needed to replace my 13 year old builder grade system. I sourced Yelp and a few other sources and decided on Nascair. I worked with Michael on the estimate and both he and David (the owner) visited the site multiple times on the install. Alex, Luis, Yelson and Brandon were my installers. It would be better to call them artists as the final outcome is a work of art. They gutted all the ductwork and installed all new ducts, units, cabinet filter, UV lights and EcoBee thermostats. NASCAIR heating and cooling have been our go to HVAC company for years. Today's events are why we will continue to use them and HIGHLY recommend using them! Our AC went out mid day yesterday. YIKES. House was super hot, muggy and we are all highly allergic this time of year. Danny came today , fyi he was early, and fixed our unit in less than an hour. What I love about this company is they fix your unit not try and sell you a whole new unit. They are honest and will not rip you off to meet a new unit quota. Avoid! We had them do some work many years ago and liked them, but 6 years ago they replaced our upstairs AC (it's questionable whether it needed full replacement or just a motor). They replaced our 3 ton Trane with a 2 ton Amana. We weren't asked our preference, they just installed it. When it didn't keep up with cooling the house well, I asked about it and they assured me it was the right size. We've had to have it charged up several times, and now the coil has gone bad. Our current AC guy can get it replaced under warranty, but confirmed today that the unit is undersized, and he confirmed that this unit is "a turd." What's worse, we paid them more than he would charge us now for a higher end model. read more

I've been doing business with NASCAR for 6 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They've performed varied work for me but the most significant was a whole system replacement along with relocation of the air handler from 1st floor to directly above in the attic (ranch house). They also installed a whole house humidifier on an existing unit which was a very finicky install. They visited several times during the period to get the humidifier working to a predictable, steady-state of operation... all still within the quote they gave me. I've also had them replace an entire system in my mother's condo. NASCAIR focuses on a stellar installation and if there are issues, they stick with it until solved. Truly an A+ firm. read more

I found Nascair Heating & Cooling from a post in Nextdoor.com and thought I'd give them a call as I was impressed that the owner is a veteran. I was not disappointed! We contacted the company to follow-up after a home inspection. Danny called ahead to let us know he was on his way; arriving when promised. Although the inspector found several issues with both our heating and cooling systems, Danny found both were working properly. He certainly could have taken advantage of us and charged us for unnecessary repairs, but he did not. We were charged only for a service call! Nascair will have our business as long we live in Charlotte. Top class company! read more

Great and honest service. Our AC stopped working & upon assessing the situation it was observed that the drainage pan had filled too much so it shut off the AC. The rest of the system was checked out to be ok. Several other companies were called and messages left with no return calls at all. These are the big name guys who claim to have 24hr availability. The only thing they have is answering service but no return calls. Nascair is local, reliable and can be trusted to honestly tell you what's wrong. Glad to have found such a good company. Wow! These guys really know their stuff. Excellent response to our call about a problem with our humidifier. Apparently the electrician screwed up the power connection which they found and fixed. They even provided a new tank from old stock for free and they balanced the air handler for much better flow to the rooms we use. They are trained and equipped to repair and set up very complex heating and air systems. Most contractors couldn't handle some of the stuff these guys do. Thanks so much for a very professional job. Here's my experience .... Woke up, smelled a burning odor - knew my 23 year old furnace was toast. Called the Co. that serviced it - and they confirmed - and said A/C was soon to follow. They gave me a quote on both .... But not a lot of more info. // That's when I dive into Internet and start the research process. Bottom Line: As long as you get one of the Top Named equipment - you will be A-Ok ... IT IS ALL ABOUT THE INSTALL !!!! So, I call 2 of the Big Names and 2 more local (yet recognizable) companies. I will tell you right here - I like to do business with local / independently owned types. Made appointments across one day - Nascair showed up precisely on time with the owner / Dave and "the go to guy" Mike. They walked me thru how they would implement and recommended 2 different series of equipment. An hour or two later I had a complete quote via email - everything spelled out. Met the other 3 Cos. And it was what I had anticipated - they were more concerned about who else was quoting / pitch book / arm twisting / -- one guy cancelled his appt 3 times --- it was painful. So - I jumped in with Nascair - installers Alex & Luis were EXCELLENT !!! Called before they showed up / explained their process / worked hard all day .... Just really good guys. Proud of their work quality and it shows. Dave & Mike came buy to check up and took his workers out for lunch - that should tell you about this company right there !!! SO - here's my advice : GET 3 QUOTES / Obviously one from NASCAIR. Then GO WITH YOUR GUT with who you want to give your $ Too.... And who you trust. We've been using NASCAIR since 2008. David Drew and his techs are first and foremost HONEST and technically proficient. In 2012, after experiencing multiple failures of major components in a Carrier Infinity (18 SEER) system that had been poorly installed by another company in 2007, David Drew got directly involved and managed to get two regional reps from Carrier to come to my house to evaluate the system and ductwork. Months later, with a lot of pressure from David Drew, Carrier declared the unit a lemon and replaced it under warranty. NASCAIR went to the mat for us providing excellent customer service. Most recently we had trouble with the same heat pump randomly and significantly overshoot the target temperature and have to be manually shut off. Each time the tech would check it out everything would be OK and then randomly occur again at some other time weeks later. David came in personally and brought in a Carrier authorized HVAC dealer, who was a personal friend, to consult with. Ultimately, after consulting and troubleshooting with Carrier tech support by phone, they concluded the issue was being caused by a computer glitch in the first generation thermostat original to the system. Unfortunately, It will have to be replaced by a proprietary and much more sophisticated and expensive thermostat. The point here being that NASCAIR consistently makes every effort to provide top notch service There have been occasions, in the heat of the summer, where our problem plagued unit would fail and we would have to wait a day for NASCAIR to be able to fit us into their schedule. During periods of extreme heat it is typical for ALL of the HVAC service providers in our area to be flooded with calls for service and for people to have to wait a day or two for their provider to be able to fit them into the schedule, despite technicians working numerous hours of overtime. I will gladly wait for an honest, technically proficient, quality provider like NASCAIR than use a company that pays their techs a sales incentive that results in the unnecessary replacement of components or entire systems. read more

Something has changed at Nascair, I used them for about 7 years, but my last experience this year left me feeling like they had changed their business model from one of honest professionals, to ripoff artists. My unit, under warranty still stopped working and needed a new capacitor, they wanted to charge me for a new one and also a "warranty paperwork" fee to process the claim they had to make to the manufacturer. When I questioned the charge they were firm, but 5 minutes later called back to say they had made a mistake. I still ended up paying the the capacitor + the trip cost and then I contacted the manufacturer. I was told in writing that it was common for dealer to do this as they make more money charging for a new one than getting the reimbursement from the manufacturer. So basically I should only have paid for the trip fee. I called and left a message and emailed the company regarding this and have yet to hear back. Yesterday a friend who I had referred to Nascair a long time ago called them for AC service, they came out and told him he needed a new unit. he got a second opinion and was told he needed to increase his freon pressure.......no new unit was needed. So what I'm seeing is a problem. Buyer beware. read more

We bought a 15 year old house with 2 systems and knew they would have to updated in the near future. We had a few companies provide estimates and Nascair gave us a good price, but in addition, they presented themselves as a company that listened to, and also cared about the customer. We went ahead and replaced both systems and could not be happier. When the first system was put in I was a little concerned as the hot air felt a little cooler than the old system. The guys made adjustments the next day when installing the second system and the house feels perfect plus the systems are quiet. Since we had the systems installed in the fall when it was not hot I can't comment on the A/C but they're supposed to come back and check that once things heat up again. So far, we are extremely satisfied with the company, the installers and everyone we dealt with. read more

Nascair did an inspection on my HVAC unit for the sale of my home. They did not even turn my AC on when checking. The report came back with 2503.00 worth of work that needed to be done ASAP. I had another company inspect the AC and NOTHING was wrong with my unit. Very bad service, I over heard one of the techs say that he was going to nitpick the unit to death. Very disappointed. When I called to ask about what was going on I was told they couldn't talk to me(even though it was MY home) and hung up on me. So right there it tells me they know they are in the wrong (my opinion). I have both inspection reports and the so called Burnt part. read more
