After he gave me his quote, I told him, "Okay, I'll get back to you. I have to get my other quotes." His response was, "F*** this. I knew you were wasting my time," and he walked away. I was shocked by the reaction. I had never told him that I was definitely hiring him, and I don't think there is anything unusual about getting more than one estimate before deciding who to hire. Later, after I told him that if he speaks to all of his customers the way he spoke to me I was surprised he gets any business at all, he responded by calling me a "scumbag" and saying he knew I was one from our phone conversation. When we explained he made suggestions that met our needs and actually did so in a way that lowered the cost. We originally thought we would need 2 retractable awnings.
