We contacted Handy Pro and sent them photos as well as a description of the Fiberglass doors and got what seemed a reasonable quote. The temperature needed to be at least 40 degrees for re-staining. On Monday, 02/24/2020, thanks to the near 50-degree weather, we were able to proceed. The original flakes needed to be stripped off first. From start to finish, it took Mark Widmaier of HandyPro three hours to get the job done. Mark was very professional and focused on getting the job done right. He even had us closely examine the finished job to point out any areas or spots needing touch ups. We're quite pleased with the result. (We did need to leave the doors slightly ajar until bedtime but was well worth the inconvenience.) Before-and-after photos of fiberglass doors are posted. Of course, durability is important and we obviously won't know about that for a number of years. Handy Pro has experienced skilled trades that can tackle pretty much anything you could need for your house. Mark himself has many skills beyond prepping and staining a door. Definitely give these guys a call for your honey-do list and more!

Can I give Negative Stars for damage!? Do NOT hire Handy…read morePro. Sloppy substandard work. On top of that - damage to adjacent areas such as gouge in my floor, paint on brand new light fixture, damage to oven when driving screws to seat, paint on cupboard, etc etc, They came back a couple times but everything still isn't fixed. I'm attaching a photo showing my new oven that they installed - It wasn't seated properly the first time (wasn't flush to cupboard / wasn't screwed in) so they came back to "fix" it and now it has significantly damaged my wall.... And - I live in Northville. I've updated my Yelp Profile but it still shows California. ********UPDATE to response below: The lower oven door was not tested for function prior to the handyman leaving after he seated it the second time around (due to it never being attached initially with the screws provided with the oven.) I don't often use the lower oven so I didn't notice right away. And... my calls after that were unanswered. This situation is absolutely NOT due to wear over the years. It happened the FIRST time I opened the oven door. And yes, wouldn't it have been nice to communicate directly?

Overall, I've been pleased with the installation and the system itself. My concern is with the follow-up service. Part of the critter guard came loose and fell off, and it has now been almost three months since I first contacted Oak. During that time, I've corresponded with three different people at the company as well as their phone service. I initially asked whether the repair was covered under warranty. I also asked that, if it was not, they simply provide a parts list or tell me what I would need to buy so I could address it myself. I still have not received that information. I was subsequently told that Oak would take care of the repair, but almost three months later the critter guard is still sitting on the sidewalk. This seems like a relatively minor issue, and I've tried to be flexible about the solution. I would be satisfied either with Oak reattaching it as promised or with enough information to understand what is needed to fix it properly. I chose Oak in part because of its participation in Ann Arbor's organized solar group-buy program, and I otherwise like the solar installation. I'm posting this review because the normal service channels have not resolved what should be a straightforward service request. I hope someone at Oak sees this and gets it taken care of. I'll be happy to update the review when it is resolved.
