I had an awesome trip to Chicago and the staff on duty the night I turned my rental car in (3/12/23) was AWESOME I didn't get the guys name who checked my car in but Jake checked me out at the register and he was AWESOME and you don't meet many awesome people only us awesome people understand that LOL Also Jake your hair cut was FIRE!!! I rent cars about 40 weeks a year and this National location is my favorite car rental place in the US. This is after renting from Hertz at this airport for 6 months. The cars offered at this location have blown me away. I've gotten Tahoes, Camaros, Challengers, and Durangos. Most cars have less than 20k miles and all have been very clean. This is compared to the Nissan Versas I used to get with Hertz. The staff is very accommodating. Often asking me which car I would like out of a handful of different options. Even when I forgot to make a reservation one week they were very accommodating. Sorry to not know the names of those working at the counter, but the fellow with light short hair, and the petite woman with glasses always offer excellent customer service. For a weary business traveler, this National location makes my life much easier. read more

Not one of their big corporate sites, but I have rented here several times and have always had a good experience. It is a small site, so not a huge car selection, but the cars have been good. Located inside the terminal, very convenient to get your car and to drop off. The staff is friendly and helpful read more

I strongly discourage anyone from using national at this location. I have rented from national for a very long time and with this history they had earned my trust. However, this location broke my trust. It was my first time renting a car at this location so it was different for me that they gave me the key at the counter. We did not walk around the vehicle and I was not told to fill out the vehicle sheet prior to leaving. It was late at night and I had a dark vehicle so I left with a second thought. Upon my return, due to the small airport, I parked the car where I picked it up and was not met by anyone. I returned the keys to the counter, was asked my mileage and it was that simple. The next day, I get a call that there was damage to the car which I did not cause. There was scratch on the passenger side that was there when I rented the vehicle to begin with. However, it's their word against mine and I did not have proof I did not cause the damage. I understand my mistake and will be more diligent in the future and I recommend everyone who chooses to rent from this location do the same. read more

Don't get it. Takes longer to get your car at this location than any other airport in the nation. Unreal.

I guess they've merged the Enterprise operation with National/Alamo at BMI. They used to be a lot friendlier - ladies in bowling shirts have been replaced by aggressive guys in ties. Being a 2nd or 3rd tier airport, no Emerald aisle service at BMI. Car selection is minimal -- NEVER any cars with XM radio so you're at the mercy of weak FM signals out on the prairie. read more

I've been renting from this location at least 1x per month for the last 18 months. The counter staff is always friendly and they always ask which vehicle I'd like to have. Although they do not have the Emerald Aisle like other locations, their vehicles are typically under 20K miles, have XM radio and/or other upgrades (leather, sunroof, remote start, etc). I recommend National at BMI over the other guys simply because of the quality of the cars offered and the smiles I'm greeted with each time I show up at the counter to pick up my keys. read more

Renting a car should be painless. National's Emerald Isle makes car rental as painless as possible. No lines, no waiting, almost instantaneous vehicle selection - just choose the vehicle and drive away, checking out at the gate as you leave the airport. BUT. . . The National kiosk at Bloomington, IL doesn't have an Emerald Isle so all the convenience that I've come to expect from National just wasn't there. Luckily, Bloomington is not a major hub so lines and waits were tolerable. Also, National seems to hire only the nicest customer service representatives and Bloomington's were great. They added the fourth star on the rating. read more

I fly into O'Hare all the time and this is a frequent challenge. Have waited over 25 minutes for the bus. Meanwhile, I've seen three Hertz busses and four Avis busses stop. Unacceptable. I am a loyal National Executive Emerald Aisle patron and I don't understand why they can't get it right at a busy airport like Chicago. I don't recommend renting from them here. read more

Staff was extremely. Helpful. Our rental reservation would not let us rent straight through to the destination, but required Us to drop the car from BMI andpick up a different car. The agent was able to modify the reservation so We could drive the BMI.rental straight to the destination. He was very very helpful and capable! read more
