We have been hearing about Natalia's since we moved to Macon several months ago. We finally decided to pay them a visit, and saying it didn't meet my expectations does not even begin to describe how disappointed I was. I wanted salmon, but couldn't order it because they ran out. My first meal, chicken Marsala on angel hair pasta had to be returned because it was dry and essentially flavorless (aside from the hint of Marsala taste). I'd never had such a terrible Marsala in my life. They did their best to make up for it by bringing a spaghetti carbonara with shrimp. The shrimp was great, but the carbonara sauce was too sharp and not very creamy. On a positive note, the steak that my husband had was pretty good. It was tender and flavorful (I ended up eating off of his plate). Wine was also good. My second complaint is there were about 15 or so specials of the day, not included on the menu, but recited by the host (~7 appetizers, 2 pastas, and ~6 entrees). To be honest, it was quite impressive that he could remember all of it, but from a client perspective, it was too much to hear at once. Why not just print it out to facilitate decision-making? The menu on its own had quite a small selection, so the off menu items provided additional necessary options. Unfortunately, by the time the recital was over, I couldn't remember the initial entrees that appealed to me. I guess in a small town with few options, people have named this the "best"; however, it is my belief that one can still find a much more delicious and satisfying meal for a fraction of Natalia's prices. I don't mind spending on food, but their food isn't worth the relatively high prices. The atmosphere is nice, but I don't anticipate returning at all! read more

Very disappointed in what used to be our Macon go-to. Made reservation for our son's graduation dinner, was told on the phone that information would be passed along to our server, however it was not mentioned. When our son asked if he could sub the arugula salad for a Caesar with one of the specials, he was told a flat "no" Understanding that specials might be difficult to alter, what's wrong with just offering to add a Caesar for an additional charge? My husband and I ordered the snapper pasta special...the fish was bland - at most. Zero flavor. However, the worst part was that it sat on a mound of RICE. We didn't order a rice dish, and this was pointed out to our sever, who also looked surprised and agreed when reviewing her notes that she did not think rice was supposed to be included in our dish. She then proceeded to "guess" that the chef added the rice to "lift up the fish and make it sit higher on the plate." Ok....however, where is the pasta??? Sadly, I am not a fan of rice and clearly wouldn't have ordered it had we known it was a rice dish. There was no offer to return it, check with the chef, etc. We were offered broccoli. No Kidding!! My plate was untouched, my husband's plate was 1/4 eaten maybe. There was no apology, no dessert served on the house, no discount. What's more, there was a $30 charge on our bill that we had to point out wasn't ours. Overall substantially sad occasion. One point for our son's steak being cooked just as he ordered, rare. One point due to the possibility that COVID affected the service, food, and overall experience. read more

I enjoyed my time at Natalias. I went with a large group of family and friends and thought the restaurant was pretty nice. The food is pricey though, but I thought what I ate was delicious. I'm a Minority that is not wealthy or upscale by any standards, but I did not experience anything discriminatory like in some of the review I read below. Not worthy all the money! Good for vegetarians, but with all the fan ones the food didn't bring the authenticity! The ricotta pate was impressively tasty with the warm bread. However once the salad arrived, a regular career salad, can't mess that up, well, mozzarella no flavor (maybe was fat free and I didn't no). The special of the day, butternut ravioli was also tasty, but the noodle was under cooked. The capellini was blend, well cooked however no flavor again. This place is awesome. We just stopped because it was by the hotel we were staying at traveling back home. Our mixologist Jedidiah created the most awesome drinks for us. I did not want to write a bad review, but after dining here for the last 2 nights, (returning from a wonderful experience 5+ years ago), and reading some of the reviews, I feel obligated to share our experience. We experienced a confrontational hostess when we entered, as we just wanted to sit at bar. The bartenders both nights were good, but had a limited selection on menu (also no prices and made to feel inadequate when you kept asking the prices.) We were glad we did when an appetizer of risotto was $18. We had it the night before when we Ordered the special, risotto w/pork, for $26, & had to salt it to death for flavor. Def not an $18 app!!My friend ordered rigatoni and it was good but basically an Olive Garden dish. Gave the restaurant another try next night, ordered anti pasta platter for $24 (overpriced for 3 meats and cheeses). No fruit came on it like it did on the customer served before me. The puffed pastry with ground beef and bernaise sauce was tasteless and wondered where is the beef?? We stopped there before ordering an overpriced ribeye. The convenience of being next to the hotel and a good martini and nice ambiance were the saving graces to this overpriced and overrated restaurant. read more

Macon deserves better. Ive dined at Natalia's about a half dozen times over the past 18 months. The first two times were excellent, the last four experiences have unfortunately established a trend of decreasing service and food quality. Most recently, on New Years Eve 2019, my wife and I planned on enjoying an early relaxed meal with good wine. This was not to be. A few examples of missteps from this experience: 1) Purchased a not-inexpensive Italian red and the bottle was not presented to us until 10 minutes after the filled decanter landed on the table. 2) Felt rushed all evening long with our server, visibly annoyed, asking if we wanted boxes and implying that we wouldn't possibly want dessert within 10 minutes of our entrees landing (worth noting that there was a significant delay from the kitchen between courses). Our wine glasses were also overfilled, presumably to rush the completion of the bottles. 3) Were not presented with the sorbet palate cleanser that the rest of the restaurant received prior to dessert. 4) The special NYE menu which we were told the chef slaved over and refused to alter with any of their traditional items was terribly formatted, to an almost unreadable extent, and did not seem all that inspired (the first two items were "House Salad" and "Caesar salad" also asparagus and whipped potatoes were provided as sides to at least 3 of the eight or nine entree choices.) 5) My pricey NY Strip was flavorless and anything but extraordinary, but by the time it arrived my expectations had been lowered to the point that I didn't bother sending it back. To the management's credit they did their best to make right the unfortunate instance of our server ruining a nearly full glass from a pricey bottle of white wine by accidentally pouring red into it. However, the incident would not have occurred at all if time and effort were put into training the staff on how to properly provide service. It is incredibly disappointing that a restaurant that was once lauded by locals and travelers alike has fallen to this level. The beverage direction is uninspired (wine list is not up to date online or in person), the food has become mediocre at best, and the service fails to rise to the minimal level of what one would expect at a restaurant that purports to be of this caliber. A year ago I would have recommended Natalia's to anyone that would listen, sadly I cannot do that any longer. I challenge the management of Natalia's to turn over a new leaf in the new year, reflect on the past and make the changes required to restore the reputation that your predecessors spent thirty years building. Let me know when you think you have it figured out. In the meantime, I'll begin 2020 with a search for a new favorite restaurant to entertain guests in Macon. read more

Went to Natalia's for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere is like your classy Italian grandma's home. Our server was nice, but seemed a little snoody. We ordered the Caprese Salad appetizer special with the buffalo milk mozzarella and it was good, not anything to rave over. Next we each ordered the aged filet and OH MY GOD was it good. HIGHLY recommended and get the Bernaise sauce, you will not be disappointed. Could be one of the best steaks I've ever eaten, it melts right in your mouth and the flavor was awesome. However, when we received our entrees the asparagus, carrots and home fries it came with were a little less than warm but we didn't complain. (Honestly, I was upset that they didn't have mashed potatoes like I saw on YELP in other posts, I'm not really a huge home fries fan...especially with a nice filet.) The home fries were not impressive, I wish I would have thought to ask to substitute them for something else. But, the asparagus and carrots were good , just wish they were hotter. For dessert we got the white chocolate bread pudding with bananas foster sauce. My boyfriend loved it, it did have good flavor. I enjoy bread pudding but this had a "flan" like consistency topping on it which I was not a fan of. I would no doubt eat that aged filet with the Bernaise sauce for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All in all we did receive good, attentive and diligent service, and the food was good. Would go back again and try a different app, probably get the meat again and sub the home fries (if serving) and ask for the sides to be hot and go for a different dessert. My boyfriend also called and specifically told them it was for my birthday celebration and he was quite disappointed when he saw another person in the restaurant receive a "birthday themed" dessert and candle but none was brought to our table. As a true Italian, I can tell you you're better off going to Carabbas than paying for this overpriced garbage. $37 for lasagna and $36 for chicken. Parm is ridiculous. The sauce tasted like Ragu. $15 for spaghetti and butter for a 3yr old cmon' you can only charge so much for spaghetti and pounded down chicken breast that's barely cooked all the way through! For four people with three cocktails for $300. Definitely go to Olive Garden close by. You'll have a much better experience for a third of the price. The waiter was more concerned about moving to the next course clearing the table off and getting you desert to run the bill up. They don't even ask if you want a box. Atmosphere was decent like a high end steakhouse that sold Fazoli's grade Italian food. Definitely a tourist trap! Don't get stuck into it. This place makes me want to open a restaurant and charge half the price for much better food. Not good food! read more

The staff is wonderful and the food is great! Appetizer: We started with crab cakes which were wonderful and full of actual crab meat. Entree: My husband's veal chop was he said was amazing and well cooked. I had the salmon and it was a little undercooked for me but still very good. For dessert we had the white chocolate bread budding with banana foster glaze. Amazing and very rich, a few bites is all you need. It was more like a flan texture on top of a thin layer of homemade ladyfingers for the bread..... simply wonderful. A definite must try!!! Yummy read more

i really really wanted to love this place. i think my expectations were really high because it's such a nice restaurant. it is a beautiful restaurant, professional. perfect for date night, anniversary, birthday, or valentine's day. my boyfriend and i giggled the whole time because we just didn't fit in there lol. but none the less it was a nice experience. on the other hand, i feel as if our waiter just tried too hard. like the genuineness didn't come natural. i guess because he had to play the part. it was really cringe. i've been vegetarian for years now and i let him know but my food still had meat in it. i guess he forgot to let them know. but he sent it back and i got a new plate of food. i still would recommend this place to anyone just to at least try and if you're not used to fancy restaurants, it'll be a unique experience. and go to the bathroom! just to look at it. it was so fancy and beautiful i loved it lol. read more

Absolutely wonderful. Food- capriccio was probably the best I have had in a few years. Beautiful plate and served with arugula, Parma, artichoke, toasted capers, and the sauce dappled around was perfect (I also asked for a bit of balsamic glaze on the side for acid) and it was perfecto! Friend enjoyed the sea bass with a risotto that highlighted the flavors of the fish and did not over power it's delicate flavor. Other friend had the mouth watering sweet and tender sea scallops that were pan seared with a bright chimichurri sauce. We took it to the finish line with a shared crème brûlée with fresh berries. Perfect meal and wish we had known this was here. We visit the area about 3x a year and have never been this happy with a dinner out. Service was very good! Knowledge waitstaff- even talked the chef into sharing a sample of the blue cheese gnocchi that was a very nice treat. Limoncello martini & espresso martini -3 beans :) were sinfully refreshing. The ambiance is definitely primed for a romantic night but it is also great for quite dinner with friends or for business dinner. Extensive selections on wine and spirits menu. The food was fantastic! Made a reservation for 2 around 7:30 for my birthday so it was not crowded, however the service did not meet our expectations. Our server was Jennifer W, who would have been excellent serving a wealthy straight couple. As a lesbian couple we were discriminated and treated differently then the rest of the customers. We were not checked on but maybe twice but Jennifer checked on the two tables right beside us every 10-15 minutes and walked right by us. As others were brought out their deserts for their birthdays/anniversaries without being asked, nothing was mentioned for the birthday reservation made for us. Will not be going back. read more

My first time in Macon. I was taken here by a local. I have to say the food is so decadent and well done. I ordered the filet. The presentation was amazing. This is quite honestly the best steak I have ever enjoyed. I have been to numerous high end steak houses, this filet wind hands down. Cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. We had our anniversary dinner again at this restaurant almost 4 weeks ago and we are hugely disappointed. The only thing that stayed the same was the price we paid for our dinner. We had our anniversary dinner in December of 2017 and were very pleased with everything, so we have decided to come back. This time the food was mediocre.... The $60 steak was OK and my $30 salmon was .... The green beens were half way cooked and kind of hard to chew.... If you are going to charge $$$$$ that kind of money, please change your game plan! Oh and also, please update your menu on your website accordingly to what you offer in your restaurant. And please don't make your waiters to spill the whole menu....It's not only unnecessary but quite frankly annoying. No, we will hold off for a while on this restaurant for sure! read more

If your ever even remotely close to this place DO NOT PASS THIS UP!!!!! This Italian place is so amazing and I'm not just talking about the food. I don't even know how to describe it. Being from the opposite coast the hospitality and friendlyness is amazing in itself. The ambiance is almost mardi gra-ish. Festive, yet elegant. red roses on the tables. Deep Maroon throughout. The bread with dipping sauce with rosemary butter is amazing. However I couldnt see the rosemary...how did they do that? Caprese salad was delish, The filet mignon....perfect! For desert....Nutella Creme Brulee...the top carmelized to perfection....need I say more????? Its hidden near a small hotel.....word of mouth sort of place. When I first walked in I thought It was a page out of a book.....still trying to think of which one. Maybe gone with the wind? Call ahead for reservations. After living in Middle GA for 10 years, I've heard about this place often. My husband surprised me with a dinner here for my birthday and all the previous reviews are on point. Excellent food and service. Appetizers: Calamari - absolute best ever with a sweet spice sauce. The batter was delicious! My husband had something with the name "steak" in it and when it came out, it was actually sliced tomato with some stringy veggies and bacon bits... lol. Tee hee. He also tried the chicken risotto. It was pretty good. I had a taste and it was enjoyable. Entree: I had the filet with bearnaise sauce. The filet was EXCELLENT. Came with a side of mashed potatoes (could've used more salt) and steamed asparagus & carrots (delish). Hubby had the veal marsala and I tasted it. It was delicious but I enjoyed my filet better. His came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Dessert: I had a layered chocolate cake with a Happy Birthday white chocolate coin on top, alongside a small scoop of vanilla ice-cream. Very good. Hubby had the Nutella Creme Brulee. He said it was good but he wouldn't order it again. Overall, excellent food and the service was outstanding. The waitresses were friendly, informative, and excited. They recommended a red wine that was delicious and let us taste another in comparison!!! I came to Natalia's on a recommendation and what a recommendation!!! The atmosphere is beautiful, quiet, and elegant. The wait staff was impressive and knew the menu + daily specials. Everything we ate was top notch!! The crab cake was delicious. It was full of crab meat (nothing like what you may find at other restaurants where the crab cakes are full of filler instead of crab). I had been waiting a whole year to finally go here and was utterly disappointed. We got seated next to a business meeting and were cramped into a corner where I could not really get to see the decor. We got a cheese plate which was very nice and I then got risotto. My fiancee got filet. We ordered at the same time as the table next to us and got a appetizers at the same time but didn't get dinner until they had finished theirs. It was a hour wait and we felt forgotten, when we got our food his filet was cold along with the veggies and mashed potatoes. Which told us it was just sitting in the kitchen. Overall I was very disappointed in the service and didn't notice till we got home what I was charged more for my meal then the menu stated it cost. Natalia's is the place to go if you are in the area and in need of some quality Italian food or a romantic restaurant for Date Night! It's new, not more than a couple years old, and decorated well. The rooms are dimly lit and fairly small so you feel cozy. Speaking from experience, the lam chops are tremendous. Bone in, they are cooked medium-well, which sears in the flavor but leaves them very tender. I highly recommend pairing them with a glass of cab or a full bodied merlot. read more

Would give this restaurant ten stars if I was able. It was that good. Had calamari for an appetizer that was the best I have ever had. Then my wife and I split a pear salad that was delicious. The waitress brought it out on two plates and it was so much we thought we were going to split one of the plates! I had the stuffed lobster that was stuffed with shrimp, scallops, and crab meat. The waitress said it weighed two pounds. A lot of food! We then finished by splitting white chocolate bread pudding with bananas foster sauce. All in all, a great meal. Just remember to bring your wallet - the bill before the tip for six of us was nearly $500.00. Still, a great place to go for a celebration. This place is very expensive so be prepared. I have been to Natalia's at the old location and now at the new location. I must say I like this location better. Its quiet, very quiet. I LOVE IT. Its so nice to be able to hold a conversation with your dining partner and not have to strain to hear or yell. The decor was upscale and not over done. I HATE places that throws a bunch of crap on the wall and calls it decor. The food was very delicious I had lamb steaks which were cooked a perfect medium rare. Seasoning was perfect and I didn't miss the fact that there is no salt/pepper shakers on the table, we didn't need it. Service was good. I don't really remember a whole lot about the server but maybe that is a good thing. Now the one bad thing I have to mention is that we have reservations for a certain time but still had to wait for 45 mins for a table. WTF! Natalia's. You would have easily gained five stars if not for the table waiting. This is the place to go when you are feeling all snooty and fancy pants. Just bring some $$ and don't be a cheapskate. I hope my next visit doesn't disappoint. read more
