Honeymoon Chicken?!?! More like the love of my life…read more I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the BEST fried chicken I've ever had. The crunch?? INSANE. The flavor?? Out of control. And somehow it was perfectly sticky, crispy, juicy, and flavorful all at the same time. Every bite had me staring into space reevaluating every other chicken place I've ever been to This is the kind of food that makes you immediately start calculating how often you can realistically come back without concern from your family and friends. Because honestly? I could eat here every single day and never get tired of it. Whoever is back there seasoning this chicken deserves financial compensation and a standing ovation

When I politely mentioned that the drink brought to me tasted like regular Coke instead of Diet Coke, she seemed more interested in debating it than simply replacing it. After trying a little bit of everything on the menu, we went back to our hotel and both became extremely sick. I truly hope it was just an unfortunate case of food poisoning and nothing more serious, but the experience completely ruined part of our trip. I ended up stuck in the hotel for two days feeling sicker than a dog. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I can't recommend this restaurant.

I only wished that it was served at all of the locations because they're so good. However, it was packaged with care and arrived at a good time. I ordered my favorite, the club biscuit. Best described as a juicy piece of chicken placed on flaky yet buttery soft biscuits, topped with some cuts of bacon, tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. SO divine! The breakfast potatoes were a bit too salty but I saw the vision that they had and the serving was generous. Overall, I love these breakfast biscuits because it gives me a chance to indulge in their delicious chicken at breakfast lol how good is that!

I love that Roaming Rooster has a variety and has a chicken sandwich for everyone's taste buds. Service is always friendly at this U Street location. I think you get a good amount of food for the price too. I always come hungry and end up feeling like it's a struggle finishing up those last few bites. Chicken always tastes fresh, fries always taste fresh. There's a bit of seating at this location, but this is one of the rare sandwich places you can take to go and it'll still be good when you get home. The price point is pretty economical too, for the area. I'm a big fan of RR and love my occasional visits for a chicken sandwich!

I'm trying to cut out the useless carbs so I tried the fried chicken amd slaw. Holy crap, what an excellent meal. I got the hot which I was happy with, but fair warning there are big chunks of jalapeño in the slaw so dont overestimate your ability to do heat. The dressing on the slaw is a bit sweet and that counters a bit of the spice. This is a nice sized meal, a good amount of both slaw and chicken, and if that isn't enough the fries are great. Since that forst time I have been there every couple weeks getting the same thing and havent had a bad experience. The chicken is great and the people I have dealt with have been very nice. It does take a few minutes, but you get nice hot chicken so suck it up and wait, it is worth it.

When it comes to the service I'll give it a 7, for the most part you're ordering off an iPad. If you happen to go to this exact location, depending on the time there may be a lot of loitering. Although the burgers are great I wouldn't suggest ordering fries‍ they are extremely underwhelming prepared with little to no salt.

I was still a little hesitant until this nice woman came along and vouched for the food. I had no idea about what to order, but as soon as I saw her food come out I was sold. I told the guys to give me exactly what she had, which included a quarter chicken, corn, and potatoes. I got back up to my office and enjoyed all of it. The chicken was well done and well seasoned, the corn was tasty, and the potatoes were better than what I was expecting. Can't really explain it but they were like roasted and mashed at the same time.. whatever it was it was great! Oh and that sweet orange sauce that they gave me took the chicken to another level. Insert fire emojis Lastly, the guys working the truck were some of the coolest food truck people that I've ever interacted with. Combine that with good food and you can def count on my coming back again.

Well...I meant to take a picture of my lunch. Really, I did. But...it was gone too fast…read more.. Today was my second time at Ooh Dat. Both times I've ordered the same thing - a quarter dark meat with one side. It comes with basmati rice (which you can sub out for a different side) and a choice of a salad, coleslaw, and corn. I've chosen the coleslaw both times - I find it so unique, with its cabbage and basil-like dressing. Definitely NOT your usual slaw. I will try the corn one of these days, though. On to the chicken - They give you a good amount of chicken and it is very, very juicy. I can't comment about the skin (I don't eat the skin, I take it off...I know to some of you that's a sin!) but my co-workers have previously commented that it is nicely seasoned. They also provide you with a mild barbeque sauce, and today they gave me a new sauce, which was curry-based. It's slightly thicker than the barbeque sauce, which while it has good flavor, is a bit thinner (it complements, not overpowers, the chicken). I alternated between both sauces today. I have to also complement the owner/manager - I had exactly $8 in cash (keep forgetting about the taxes for food trucks!) so he let me go without paying the $.80, that was really nice of him. I'll be sure to give it back to him next time! Overall, a solid, filling meal, and I would return!

This is definitely a hole in the wall-type restaurant. The exterior isn't great, and honestly the inside isn't much either. There's no place to sit, you come to order your food and go- but the service and quality of the food more than make up for it. We ordered an XL order of soy garlic wings (20 pieces) and a M order of honey spicy (10 pieces) and it was more than enough for 6 people. The crunch and flavor were TOP. I heard great things about the honey lemon pepper wings only after we placed our order, but unfortunately we didn't get to order any. I also have to shout out the employee that took our order. He was so friendly to us and also threw in extra sauces and Oreos when he saw we were celebrating my bachelorette. That extra touch of customer service made our visit here memorable. I'll be back to try the honey lemon pepper soon! - Ambiance: 3/5 - Food: 5+/5 - Service: 5++/5

Don't take it from me...if you're on social media you'll see that food influencers have travelled from afar to rate these wings. And even they were in disbelief how amazing these wings were. The honey lemon pepper is not just a unique sounding flavor but the taste execution is something else. If you haven't tried KoChix don't walk...RUN! Service is always nice and they get orders ready fairly quickly for a fried wing joint. Ambiance isn't much to write about. Kind of your standard takeout place. We got the wings and stood outside and enjoyed them. The weather was nice. Bring plenty of paper towels and water to rinse your hands off.

I was surprised they were still open that late, and I was surprised there was a crowd buying food. I was also surprised that the chicken was good and it tasted like they brined it in buttermilk. I think it overcooked a little bit on the top being under the light. I will definitely come back for the chicken. I also saw just about everyone in front of me ordered the chicken sandwiches so the chicken sandwich must be good and I will try that next time. Lastly, the guy who took my order which had to be a manager because he looked like he was in charge was very very nice and personable.
