What a find this place is. I came about this building and was wondering how there was a restaurant in an office/residential luxury building. The space is very quaint and cozy, but had a unique staircase effect inside. I enjoyed a kaiseki dinner that was offered and some other dishes. All the fish and selections were fresh and delicious. Everything was beautifully plated. My favorite dishes had to be the fried scallops and the negitoro roll. I would definitely come back for an occasion, this place is definitely great for a peaceful date night, but they could use a little music inside to creat more of an ambiance. The last comment I have is that I wished the waitress would give me a little more time to enjoy one of the dishes. I was talking to my partner and it might have seem like I was done with my food. But otherwise, she was attentive to when I needed more tea or water. Overall, I enjoyed the freshness of my food and intimacy I got with my partner because of the peaceful environment of this restaurant.

The quality of the fish makes the difference here. Every piece just melts in your mouth. Like great restaurants it's tucked away within the lobby of 115 E. So go look for this one.

Was near the area and wanted some sushi so I stopped here. The decor is very nice I will say that and the way the food is presented was very nice. The reason I am giving 3 instead of 5 stars is because the serving size is very small compared to the price. I've eaten at other nice sushi places and you get more for your buck. I believe I had the blue lobster roll ? Don't quote me on that. Food was good, but way overpriced so not a place would visit regularly.

I was getting a bit hangry and stumbled upon a somewhat inconspicuous sign on the street. Hungry, bad, sushi, good. "Take a chance, dummy." So, I walked in and it's like walking into an open atrium. There is a grab and go store and a lot of open air seating with nice sunlight. On the right was Nare. It looked pretty cool and legit with three levels of seating with super high ceilings and a well stocked bar. I sat down and noticed after downloading the menu that there were no lunch specials. So, still hungry, and I had my credit cards. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and yellowtail jalapeño roll. Then I decided I was goi g to test the place and ordered uni sushi with quail egg and ikura sushi with quail egg. No quail eggs. Hmmm. One test failed. I still got the uni and it was nothing short of perfection. The ikura was also well curated and popped perfectly in the roof palate. The sushi rice was a bit heavy on the rice vinegar, but still good. Service was excellent - attentive and well-paced, so I didn't feel rushed. I would definitely go back if in the area. Remember to tip well.

Had fasted 24 hours for bloodwork in the bldg -- and couldn't have been happier to stumble into this oasis. The food was served promptly-- presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. I had the lobster roll -- asparagus. And 2 cocktails. I was surprised how relatively reasonable it was $$. The service was also impeccable and I loved the music and charm of the space.

NARE SUSHI is ensconced in the Galleria digs of 57th Street off of Lexington in a tight no-frills spot, serving authentic Japanese omakase and kaseiki at reasonable prices. My sushi & tartare seafood order was sublime, melt in your mouth delicious, and beautifully executed. *Toro Tartare - finely chopped fatty tuna with daikon radish scallion garnished w tobiko & micro greens. *Salmon Sake Mille-Feuille - Delicate thin layered, spicy salmon, seared salmon, avocado, Jalapeño w tobiko & eel sauce. Service was very efficient and courteous. Business is very busy! **Take out available. Covid protocols respected. Hand sanitizer available *** Arigato!

Good quality, fast service, restaurant hidden in a work building. Came for restaurant week ($39 for an appetizer + toko ju sushi and a roll of choice). The sushi set comes with some high quality pieces, including uni, hotate and amaebi- yum!! The quality of the fish was very good considering the price and very fresh. For my appetizer, I chose the hijiki quinoa salad. The salad was very refreshing and had a strong seaweed flavor. It was slightly sour and nice and cold. Would never have imagined this particular combination of flavors, but have to say it was quite good! My partner got the seaweed salad, which was very standard. I would recommend the hijiki quinoa salad over it.

Enjoy authentic Japanese food in this quiet Nare sushi restaurant. We had sushi, Wagyu beef dish and warm tomato dish during our visit in NYC. Great service and great food. Thank you Chef Michi!

Don't eat your chopsticks. It is rare to see actually good food nowadays. It is even more rare to see good food with excellent execution and presentation. And I think that Nare hits those marks easily. The place is small but when we got there it was packed. I mean almost completely. Given that it is located on billionaires row it has to keep the standards high but I don't think it's going to be difficult. The Omakase is one of the best I've seen around with A5 Wagyu, fish, and seafood imported from Japan. It's a rare sight to have a server explain to you exactly where your food comes from, most places just have it written on the menu if at all. The fish is fresh like I've not tasted in many restaurants. The sake is nicely complementing the food. The atmosphere is intimate and that makes the experience so wonderful. Definitely worse a visit more so before the business lunch crowds come back.

Walked into the restaurant and didn't wait long for a table. There was a bar near the entrance and a few tables inside. The omakase was delicious and at a great price as well. One of the less expensive sets I've had in the city but the quality was still great. The staff were friendly and came to check on us a couple times. Didn't get to try their drinks but will definitely try it the next time I come back!

Made a reservation for this place durning restaurant week, wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and sadly it was a huge mistake. Made a reservation for 5:45PM on Wednesday. The place was tucked inside a corporate building. Greeted by two servers, sat down ordered our food. The service was terrible , I had to ask the server 3x for a straw each time the server ignored me and the place was not busy. The food wasn't great we ordered the omakase, and it wasn't fresh at all got me sick when I got back home. The whole experience was disappointing and wouldn't go back simply put food was not great and the service was mediocre.

Weekday business lunch experience, got a table without reservation. Small cozy restaurant in lobby of hotel/commercial building. Service was great, friendly and prompt. Food came out promptly - great selection of sushi. Tasted great, fresh and no complaints. Well priced for quality, service and ambiance.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation.
