The hamburgers here are incredible. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered the kids size version of the "Ford." It was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor. I will definitely eat here again. In years past the flavor, and quality were so much better. The change in salads and burgers very noticeable and disappointing.

This place has amazing local beef and I can taste the difference! Their food is really good and I recommend it to anyone visiting.

I moved away from the Bitterroot valley nearly 10 years ago. And with this being my first time back I had to come back here as this was one of my favorite places to go. I've had Naps a few times and it's definitely the place to go in town when you want a burger. Today it was just OK, nothing incredible. We got the Ford burger and it wasn't the best burger but it wasn't the worst. A little dry for being a bacon and bbq burger. The fries are really good and the onion rings are average. Not heavily seasoned so you can add your own salt/pepper. Garlic sauce on steak sandwich a little over powering but horseradish spread was excellent as was fresh and lightly toasted hoagie roll. We stopped at Nap's while visiting my husband's parents. I thought that food was okay, but my in-laws have returned multiple times, and my husband enjoyed it! I got a Cobb Salad because my stomach wasn't feeling well when we visited, and it was definitely a quality salad with plenty of toppings. I did feel that the price ($12.75 for the whole salad as opposed to the half) was a little hefty, especially because it was only a dollar cheaper than my husband's giant Rockefeller burger. My family all got burgers -- The Ford and 2 Rockefellers, and those were a hit with them. The Garlic Parm Cheese Fries were also loved by my family, and they looked amazing! If you like garlic and Parmesan, stop by to get these fries. I don't think I've seen better fries, and you get a decent portion for $4.75. It was pretty busy when we arrived around lunch time on a weekend, but nevertheless, service was fast. I think everyone ordered within 5 minutes of arriving and then got their food in the next 15-20 minutes, which I think is a very reasonable wait (you order at a counter and then pick your food up at the counter when they call your ticket number). I think my favorite part of Nap's was its rustic decor. They have a wall covered in unique license plates -- that's pretty cool. Overall just a nice place -- not my favorite, but I wouldn't discourage anyone from visiting! read more

Naps is located in downtown Hamilton Montana. I visited on September 3 at noon it was very packed and I ordered the 6 ounce burger well done with mushrooms pepper jack cheese with a drink and fries. The food came out fairly quickly and it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. I had a little frog celebrity with me who was not doing well on the trip and the lady at the front counter offered me a free cup of ice for him and now he is riding the rest of the trip in comfort thanks to her. Five stars from me for naps and five stars and aribbet from splat the frog! read more

Service was good and wait staff very polite. My charbroiled chicken sandwich was some kind of gristly mystery meat. I took my sandwich back to the staff to return it to the chef. I never heard from them again. I was very disappointed and will never return. read more

We stopped in on a Thursday night after a hike in the Bitterroot and we were starving. I think half the population of Hamilton was in the restaurant. It has an extensive sandwich menu with not only hamburgers but chicken, prime rib, grilled cheese, and so on. I got the 12oz burger with fries. I received it quickly despite the crowd. It was prepared exactly as ordered and it was delicious and HUGE! If you are hungry and want to chow down on the biggest, best burger you have ever had, stop in. This used to be a cool place with great burgers when it was in the old location. But now it is trendy and overpriced. We stopped for dinner the other night after a basketball game but ended up turning around and walking out before ordering. The sidewalk outside the door was crowded with smokers, and none of the customers inside were wearing masks (seated and in line) during the mandate. So apparently this is the "Go To" restaurant in Hamilton. My boss said if you have people in from out of town, you always take them to Nap's. While I appreciated the decent Belvedere martini, the burger was mediocre for me. The place is divided in two areas. The main area is order at the counter type service. Then there is the bar area where you can order from the full menu. We opted to sit at the bar. I was happy they had Belvedere and went with a straight up martini with a twist. The bartender did a good job so kudos to her. I opted for the Ford burger which came with cheddar cheese, bbq sauce, bacon and onion rings. The burger was beyond huge. I guess the beef was okay but the whole thing was smothered in bbq sauce, that was all you could taste. The onion rings were soggy because of the excessive BBQ sauce. Cheese was MIA due to the huge amount of sauce. Bacon was there but tasted like....yep....BBQ sauce. The only thing not covered in BBQ sauce were the fries and they were fairly forgettable. Hamilton is a pretty small town so I'm sure the bar for the dining scene is set pretty low. Nap's is okay and might have the best burger in Hamilton but they couldn't compete with anyone outside of Hamilton. read more

Most popular burger place in town, probably due to the large size, do it yourself burgers that are pretty cheap compared to others in town. You order at the counter & help yourself to the topping bar after they finish cooking your patty. Friendly service too. Nap's Deal seems to be the thing to order, it's $9.25 for a 3/4 lb burger, regular fries & soda. You can add on grilled onions and grilled mushrooms which I opted for. I thought the overall burger was okay, the patty could of been more flavorful. While the grilled onions & mushrooms were plentiful, they were also completely soaked in oil, enough to make you cringe a little. When you're at the topping bar, there's a "secret sauce" that reminded me of In n Out's sauce back in California, which is pretty much thousand island sauce. Buns used were standard off shelf buns. Seeing on Yelp that they offered garlic fries off menu, just mention "Shawn's fries" and they'll drench your fries in oil & garlic. I thought the garlic fries were okay, it's a shame the fries weren't fresh cut else they would have had more flavor. Ingredients need to be more fresh especially for a place that gets more constant business than others in the middle of nowhere. Overall, this is a simple burger joint & probably the best one in town but it's not amazeballs as everyone else leads you to believe. read more

Hit it again on Dec 12 and am happy to see that they have spruced it up a bit. Clean walls, decorative posters and photos and fixed the ventilation system so is no longer full of smoke. Good job, guys. Burgers are consistently good and the fries and plentiful and yummy. The meal deal is THE DEAL and you will not be hungry for quite awhile. Tourists need to treat themselves as it has a 1950s feel with he burgers, shakes and fries. read more

The bacon was done crisp like I don't like, but then these are not mindeaders. The interior has good abience, but is packed and noisy. Lighting is decent with a view of the mountains. Music... I can't tell, the interior is too noisy. If you have the money to blow and want a straight burger joint, this is the place. read more
