Hogfish Harry's Restaurant + Bar - Coconut shrimp and crispy wings

Hogfish Harry's is a hidden gem of an eatery located inside the Park Shore Resort in Naples…read more As I drove up trying to find it, it's a little hidden but just follow the navigation--it's taking you there! I parked near their walkway sign and once I ventured through, it's such a lovely walk up to the restaurant with a bridge over water with fountains and tons of blooms everywhere. Once inside, I was met with a bright, crisp dining room that was clean and comfortable. We started with cocktails and I got their version of a Manhattan, the hog-hattan. It's made with Whistlepig 6 year and came out on the rocks. Manhattans not served up are kinda a pet peeve of mine--but this one? Truly and honestly one of the best Manhattans of my life. The server did not steer me wrong. It was exquisite. For my dinner, my dining companion and I opted for a deal they had that allowed you a starter and main for a reasonable price. I got the kale salad for my starter which was bursting with flavor--chopped kale, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, chevre, and a bright citrus-y vinaigrette--what's not to love? For my main, I got their Mahi Mahi which was also perfectly executed. It was served over a bed of rice and asparagus with chopped mango and a sauce (not sure what kind but balanced the dish perfectly) on top. I would have a hard time not ordering this dish again. It was craveable. Our server was lovely and provided wonderful recommendations for both myself and my dining companion. No notes! Get to it!

I visited the coast and wanted seafood. I searched for the top rated seafood restaurants and…read moreHogfish popped up. I read it was a little tricky to find, because it sits in the middle of a little resort. It's a great walk over a little bridge that crosses over a pond. It resembles a seaside restaurant with lots of seating inside and outside. I sat at the bar and was enthusiastically greeted by the bartender. I asked for her recommendations and I went with the hogfish sandwich. Luckily, she told me I could get it grilled and blackened instead of fried. I could tell they knew how to cook fish because it came out perfectly. Most would probably think it was undercooked, but that's how fish should be cooked. I appreciated this attention to detail and thought it was delicious.

Amazing service and delicious food…read more My friends and I went to The Local before a movie at the Regal movie theater nearby. We were seated in a comfortable booth, and the overall ambiance was so lovely with high ceilings. We got there in time to enjoy a happy hour dinner menu. I ordered the Pork Ragu over Gnocchi as featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." It was so yummy! And the portion was very generous. Service was also very friendly and helpful. We had a great server. I'll definitely return when I'm back in the area.

Tried out this farm to table spot and walked away with a solid impression overall…read more I went with the In House Smoked Turkey Sandwich from their lunch special at $19.50. Naturally smoked turkey with brie, pesto mayo, and tomato jam on gluten free bread, served with a fresh Caesar salad. Pretty good sandwich. The turkey was flavorful, the bread held up nicely, and the salad was crisp with a good coating of parmesan. Decent value for what you get. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which came with a side salad topped with blue cheese crumbles and red onion. The presentation looked great with nice char on the fish, fresh pico, and shredded cabbage piled high. But the execution fell short. The fish itself was chewy and not very tender. That's a problem when fish tacos are one of your popular dishes. On the bright side, our waitress was nice and attentive. No complaints on the service front. The cozy atmosphere lives up to the farm to table vibe they're going for. The Verdict: The Local delivers a decent lunch with good service and fresh ingredients. My smoked turkey sandwich hit the spot, but those fish tacos need work. Four stars for a solid overall experience, but maybe skip the tacos next time.

We went with friends who enjoy M Waterfront Grille to try the Sizzle Dining Menu. Loved the table…read moresetting and will try it at home (napkins drapped down over the table edges). I tried the $49 menu and my husband and friends did $59. The clam chowder was good but my Linguine alla Vongole was too garlicy for me (main reason only rated 4, so maybe a 4.5). My husband, however had the awesome Crab & Shrimp Egg Rolls (amazing!) and delicious Veal & Shrimp. Portions were full size, so we both took home some of the meal so we could eat dessert. I had donut the holes and he had the creme brulee, both were good. Service was excellent and we had a table at the window so had a water view, which was nice. I would definitely go back for the Egg Rolls and try more of their offerings.

WOW, what a disappointment!…read more Decided to come here for mother's day brunch. Like many places in Naples, a prix fix menu was standard. I gave this restaurant two stars. Not for the food. But for the service. It really should be 1.5 stars but this system doesn't allow that. Let me explain. Let's start with the appetizers. Best thing on the menu was the beet salad and goat cheese. Probably the best part of the entire meal and its presentation was fantastic. Followed by the clam chowder. Lobster bisque was pretty bad as was the ceasar salad. Onto the main items. PRIME RIB. Many ordered this but not one person liked or finished theirs. In some cases overly fatty and in others the meat was super chewy and barely flavorful. Most of prime rib from all guests was taken home to feed to the dogs. Fish was a tri-tip, overly salty but also undercooked. Desserts - Have t say the donuts were the clear winner. Key Lime Pie had a gross drizzle of raspberry sauce (While do so many restaurants do this?). Creme de pot, so sweet that your teeth hurt from eating it. Look, if you are going to charge high prices and have a prix fix menu for a special occasion like mother's day or other, then THAT menu of items better be spot on and near perfect. In this case, "M" failed miserably. Certainly won't be back.

It was pretty hot out and there is a lot of shade on the patio, but consider a table under a fan if you really want to stay cool because there wasn't much of a breeze at our table under an umbrella. My wife and I thought the food was reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. They also have a rewards club you can sign up for to get a free appetizer and then eventually discounts for your rewards points. We will definitely be back in the future.

We received our appetizer and were shocked to see we only received 10 thin round pickle slices, about half a medium sized pickle chopped up and breaded. It was actually laughable. They came with two sauces and weren't bad tasting but every time we ate one we laughed about it being 1.00$. We found 2 stuck together and joked about it like wow a 2 for 1. I think for a place that has free pickles at every table, that was an absolute rip off and I wouldn't recommend ordering that. The sandwiches we ordered don't even come with fries and the fries taste like they had been fried twice, super dry and like they had been recooked or something. My Rueben sandwich had a decent ratio of meat/sauce/sauerkraut but the bread was super soggy. Service was good so maybe I would give this place another chance and order something different but I honestly would not recommend.
