I've been going to this medical group for six months and have had ongoing issues with professionalism and communication. I've never been able to see my doctor and am instead directed to nurses who don't seem knowledgeable about my care. On top of that, staff can be rude and rarely follow up with test results. So far so good. Moved into the. Neighborhood a while ago and these guys take my insurance. I did some blood tests and a physical and the nurse was very nice and it was a quick visit. After 3 years of okay care here something has gone downhill. This was my Primary Care Dr, but I actually never got to see the doc, only NP. They do not return calls, give you test results or seem to care at all. It feels like they are just making money from ordering tests but not giving any compassionate care or knowing anything about your medical history from one appointment to the next. This is supposed to be a relationship where you are guided and supported in your health journey, that's the job of your Primary Care professional. I've only had one appointment here so far and I'm quite pleased and satisfied with my visit. I didn't meet with any of the doctors, this review is for the nurse practitioner, Lauren. I set an appointment with lauren, as the doctors weren't available any sooner. However, a classmate of mine had referred me to this place specifically for his experience with Lauren as well. So I was more than okay being set up with her. I am a nursing student and I needed get things checked off of my clinical packet by getting things like a physical and my titers all in order. I felt like I panicked about this for months before I finally set an appointment because I was always afraid of doing something wrong or getting the wrong thing done. However, when I met with Lauren; she relieved me of all my fears. She was super sweet and read and helped explain everything I needed done through my packet. (I kind of shoved it at her in a panic.) she definitely reassured me of everything and told me what she was going to do that day and what I needed to do on other days. She is super warm and calming and really tried to work with my nerves. Whoever came up with "white coat syndrome" understands what type of person I am. And Lauren really eased me in everything and laughed and goofed and did everything right to make me feel less anxious. I appreciate her. Sometimes doctor offices can be intimidating. And even for me, who is stepping foot into the medical field, still has anxiety with things like that. So having such a warm-hearted caring nurse practitioner like Lauren there to calm the nerves felt great being in a place that I want set all my appointments at now. read more

Went to do a basic physical over a year ago with a doctor named Mr. Nash as I had just activated my new and improved insurance through my new employer at the time. It had been 4 years since my last visit to any doctor so I thought it a good idea to check myself out as I had just turned 38. I scheduled an appointment with Mr. Nash at this location. I was examined fairly quickly then came lecture time. Mr. Nash went to great detail why I should not have come in for a physical and that people like me are the reason that healthcare costs are on the rise. He mentioned former President Obama and that his efforts have risen health care costs. I listened to his point of view calmly, but never would return. I'd like to state that preventive care should be OK, and in many ways the future, not only seeing a doctor in an emergency situation. One could argue that the reason why healthcare in this country has become so costly is because there are doctors out their who simply don't care about preventative health of their patience, yet happy to have you wait for service and treat you quickly before billing. Would you only service/maintain your car when you see the engine die or the tires falling off? NO, you maintain your car periodically and consistently for future health. I cannot recommend this facility because instead of just being a doctor (listening to my needs) he decided to give me his right wing political take on the state of healthcare today and made an effort to make me feel guilty for coming in for a physical/health check after 4 years of not ever seeing a doctor. This is way long over due but Dr. Nash is great!! I will not go into any of my personal issues but he really is one of the best Drs I've met. And I say this from being a health care worker myself. Dr Nash is the BEST doctor! I love him- he's attentive, and friendly. I only once waited over 1 hour, most of the time it's a reasonable wait time. He's a great well rounded doctor who seems to be more holistic in his approach with patients. He's also a very fit doctor, which always makes me feel better. HIGHLY recommended!! My husband and I both see him. The office is clean- older building ( king of typical old school long beach ) and the staff is helpul. give him a try! I don't know if Dr. Jack (John) Thomas is still at this Naples Medical Group practice, but he was a great primary care physician for the several years I lived nearby. He took the time to listen and answered any questions I ever had. He also correctly told me to go to the ER when I was having extreme pain that he couldn't diagnose in the office. Dr Norcross gets great reviews, but maybe not such a great Dr for queers. I'm a queer pansexual woman; I asked for a full bank of STD tests and was told I didn't need to get tested for HIV as I am 'very low risk' - no questions asked about my sex life. When I protested I got asked if I'd used intravenous needles (still no question of sexual practices) - I had to insist I wanted to get tested for HIV anyway. I also got told this would probably be my last STD test since I'd written on my forms that I am engaged. Which is presumptuous and not relevant medical advice for me. Referred to my partner as 'he' without checking. Overall an uncomfortable experience which made me hesitant to ask about the mental health support I was hoping to get a referral for. I'm new in town and had Norcross recommended to me by a friend but I'll probably try someplace else next time. read more

I had used Naples Medical group for two years and believed Norcross to be a good physician from the care I had received from him in the past. Last year that all changed. I had made an appointment due to severe pain I was having in my groin area. After a 5 min evaluation Dr. Norcross diagnosed me with what he believed to be my problem, gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. After completing two weeks of prescribed drugs (which suck) my condition had not gotten better, but in fact, much worse. Upon my second visit he once again assured me he knew what my condition was, and once again he prescribed yet another medication and sent me on my way. About half way through my three week regimen of medication my condition become un bearable. I made another appointment with him and stressed my concerns, I would not say he was blowing me off, but he was definitely pretty confident he knew what my condition was and did not see it fit to run any other tests. He for the third time prescribed yet another medication and sent me once again on my way. Here we are almost two months in and no changes...I'm feeling worse and worse and trying to weigh out my options. I decided to go to a "specialist" in which to my dis belief on the very same day he diagnosed me with Cancer! Not only does he diagnose my but stated to me that the form of Cancer that I have was super aggressive and it was probably able to metastasize in the past few months. So basically while Dr. Norcross was feeding me meds and the medical companies are feeding his pocket for feeding me meds$$$ my body is getting taken over with cancer. I was obviously upset. All he had too do was admit he was unsure of my symptoms and assign me to a specialist from day one. After going through 5 rounds of Chemotherapy (about 27 total days, or 4 months), and having a surgery I can gladly say I am once again healthy. I'm not saying Norcross is a bad doctor, I just think doctors in general are more focused on selling there medications to increase there profits and not focusing on the underlying symptoms and trying to find the root of the problem. Just say NO to Naples medical group. read more

Now that I have health insurance, I still choose them over anybody. When I'm sick, they fit me in the same day. LOVE Dr. Nash. He's very "hands-off" - in that, he won't over-prescribe meds. That said, every appt, I learn something new because he spends time with us talking in our appt. I recently injured my knee and my regular doctor, Dr. Pham has been out on maternity leave. I was very unhappy with Dr. Mogilevsky (her temp. replacement). It took her over 3 days and 4-5 phone calls before she would fill out the paper work that basically guaranteed my position at work and my paycheck. At this time (2 weeks later) I still have not received a followup phone call regarding my x-ray results. Needless to say I starting asking around for a recommendation. Dr. Norcross was very thorough and personable. He does ask some very personal questions that might make one uneasy but I'm sure it's legit (just be ready). I felt like Dr. Norcross spent plenty of time with me and really listened to what I had to say. Turns out my injury is more serious than I first thought. Stay tuned. read more

The lobby is a bit cold no matter what time of year you go so be sure to bring a jacket. (No kidding) Once in a while you have to wait for a while in the examination room for a long time before the doctor(s) see you but that is pretty normal at any office you go to anymore. The nurse practitioner here is awful. This is now the 2nd time she has looked at me like I was uneducated and dumb. Both times I had to go somewhere else because I was right and she was wrong. The first time she said I had ring worm all over my body and laughed at me. I knew I didn't have ringworm. I had to beg for a referral to a dermatologist. Turns out I was right. I asked my doctor at Naples Medical Group for a referral for a "Home" Sleep Study. Instead they prescribed a laboratory sleep study with SleepMed. What a disaster. The knuckleheads at SleepMed connected me to about 30 different probes from the top of my head, tip of my fingers, face, feet, sides, chest, neck and belts across my waist and belly and expected me to sleep. Did not Sleep a wink during the "sleep study" and was charged $650. Thanks a lot for the great referral. Next time give me what I ask for an "at home sleep study". Now I am out $650 for nothing. read more

I've been a patient here for 7 years, and Dr. Nash was great. Unfortunately, it takes so long to get an appt with their new doctor, I've been forced to see a Nurse Practioner. I went to see their NP, Lauren, per their request, and the first thing she said to me was "couldn't you get your test results over the phone"? She went on to say that she had no idea what was wrong with me, laughing at me the whole time. Very condescending. Also, it takes forever to get a refill (I ran out of my BP medicine). I've been Dr. Norcross' patient for nearly 10 years now. Before being his patient I had Kaiser. I kept having a pain on my side which radiated to my back, off and on for about 2 years. The doctors at Kaiser did not seem concerned. My health insurance changed, which brought me to Dr. Norcross.....in which I was referred to by a friend. My very first visit, Dr. Norcross listened and spent time finding out my medical history. He sent me to a specialist and it turned out that I needed to have my Gallbladder removed. I can't say anything negative about Dr. Norcross. He and his nurse and front office staff have always been friendly and professional. I usually wait no longer than 15 minutes and appointments are available within 1 to 4 days. I've even gotten a same-day appointment. I've always been a happy patient! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Norcross for over 10 years. He is a phenomenal doctor, personable and caring man and teacher of future doctors, who complete training under his guidance. I have always been able to get in quickly to see him, and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the lobby area. I have been seen by Lauren, the nurse practitioner, as well as recently by Dr. Duzik, a resident doctor. Dr. Norcross, Dr. Duzik and Lauren are all very thorough in making their diagnosis. They spend a good amount of time with you understanding your concerns/symptoms and reviewing (or gathering) your medical history, and Dr. Norcross is always consulted when needed. They encourage regular check-ups and preventative care. Many procedures, bloods draws, shots, tests, etc. can be done in the office, so you aren't traipsing across town everywhere. The Naples Medical staff are all friendly and helpful professionals. I have seen the same familiar friendly faces for years. If you are looking for a seasoned family doctor for long-term continuous care, I would highly recommend Dr. Norcross and his team at Naples Medical Group. read more
