Wife and I rented road bikes for 8 days there recently. Customer service was somewhere between poor and couldn't-care-less. When returning the bikes, I was met with a gruff "what do you need" by a bald man. Halfway through a rental I received a "courtesy call" -- it wasn't to ask if things were going well, but to tell me the bikes were due back by 10 am on the return date. The bikes were decent and relatively new, but they give off an attitude like customers are an interruption to their day. This isn't true of everyone -- I know folks who have very positive to say about some staff, like Oscar in the service shop -- but it was true of everyone i dealt with personally. Next year, I'm looking elsewhere. read more

OK. I purchased a Specialized Expedition Sport at this dealer on December 29, 2015. This was not an inexpensive purchase. The next day, on my very first ride, I found myself on the concrete with multiple lacerations and a cracked left rib. A good Samaritan scooped me up and got me home. (Thanks, Al and Gerry!) A few days later I took the mangled wreck to another bike shop for diagnosis and repairs (cost = $85). They told me that the brakes ON MY BRAND NEW BIKE were "faulty" and showed me the evidence to back it up. My suspicion is that Naples Cyclery does not road-test their merchandise. That's the only conclusion I can draw from this painful episode. Beware. read more

Been here now twice and always received fast and courteous service for the things I've had done. Simple repairs always seem like something they can handle pretty quickly. I did overhear the conversation of someone in front of me who was informed a complete service from soup to nuts would take them a couple weeks, so might call them before hauling a bike here 1st for more of a major service... if you need back in a hurry in season. read more

Very knowledgeable staff. Rental policy is very clear and it is obvious bikes are serviced after each rental. We've all witnessed irrational customers before and I'm sure the negative reviews are mainly from them. Uneducated cyclists should listen closely to their knowledgeable staff to ensure comfort and safety. Stopping by for new tires made me realize I should only get a tune up during winter months. I take it that the part time staff doesn't get bonus' for adding extra items and costs. The nice guy with some tattooed (Jon or Joe), was really honest. He showed me my chain was wearing with a tool. He basically showed me instead of me having to take his word. This last trip was for tires only, and service tried selling me a chain and cassette too, they were both replaced less than 80 miles ago! Thanks for trying to get an extra 200 dollars from me, I'll get tires online, and wait until winter for tuning, if ever. Enjoy that place if you get deals, all I got was one honest tune up. After that was a con artist telling me how great and honest he is, or a jerk. By the way, Trek in Bonita fixed the rear derailer noise for free. It wasn't a chain or cassette issue. read more

My wife's 2012 e-bike stopped working awhile ago. Getting parts for this bike is not easy but Peter Marsh did an excellent job determining both what failed and then getting the right replacement part. The bike's working great again. This place is a gem. I have taken my bike twice now for service and the gentlemen at the service station are genuinely interested in just helping you rather than nickel and dime-ing for everything. Honest Service. Genuine care. NC exemplifies why we need our bike shops around. Today, I was on a time-crunch and had the expectation to drop off my bike and get back to work but they ended up adjusting my seat post and installing my pedals in less than 5 mins. Worst bicycle shop in Naples. Period. I brought in a Priority bicycle to the shop Sunday (8/2/20) to have it checked out. The Mechanic on staff was very rude and said they only check out bikes that are sold from the store even though I have been a customer for 5 years and a Southwest FL resident for 30+ years. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND DECEPTIVE PRICING!! When I rented a bike here, they took my money before they'd let me know what bike I was renting, and then gave me the cheapest bicycle that's made. I asked for a better bike but they said I'd have to pay twice more than advertised. I then came back within an hour realizing what a piece of shit the bike was, but they wouldn't credit one hour of the 2 hour rental. I highly recommend BIG MOMMAS BICYCLE, JUST DOWN THE ROAD: 850 SEAGATE DRIVE, They were so nice, so flexible, and I could rent any bike that was available when I arrived, for any amount of time. The staff behind the counter in the repair shop are rude, impatient, and act like they don't want your business. Grumpy. I have been a client of Naples Cyclery for 15 years - and Fit & Fuel since they have been open (beginning with the sweet small space when Subway divided the shops) ... I have purchased many things in both spaces. I was in need of spinning shoes and was advised to go to Naples Cycelry. Not sure about the 'shopping experience' since this Covid thing, I finally went today ... it was horrible ... No one was available to help me - they are more comfortable keeping to themselves or bow for on their devices - I helped myself to many pairs of shoes and finally Found a pair I liked. When I reached the cash register I asked if they could put SPD clips on my shoes and I was met with a sarcastic and demeaning comment "do you intend to purchase clips" ... obviously yes, since is asked .. then I was told to "go get the clips" ... where are they?, I asked ... "on the wall where u r were shopping for shoes" like I was some kind of idiot ... I was so upset I almost walked out, but stayed to purchase the shoes that I really wanted to buy... it never got better - the attendant was condescending and sarcastic and I felt horribly sad, anxious and I felt like I was disturbing his day - and I was there to PURCHASE PRODUCT ... I will NEVER go back and I will warn everyone I know to stay away ... so sad because for the last 6 years this is where I took all my friends and associates for lunch ... Most bike shops are filled with 'bike snobs'. It's hard to find one that isn't. Naples Cyclery is no different. I usually deal with the Trek store around the corner(good service, friendly staff, usually do what they can to price match). But, I was interested in an Electra bicycle and this shop is one of the few dealers in the area. I checked out their website first, and then called to see if they had the particular model I wanted in stock so I could take it for a spin. After a quick ride I was pretty convinced that this was going to be my next bike. Unfortunately, the tag hanging on the bike said $539, but it was listed on their website for $499. When I asked the sales person about it, he said that the $499 was for last years model. I had him pull up the website on his computer to double check the model/year. It was for a 2011, but he claimed the one he was trying to sell me was a 2012(even though there were absolutely NO changes to it if it was in fact a 2012). Long story short: they wouldn't honor the price that they have listed on THEIR website. It all worked out for the best anyway. I ended up ordering the same bike from an online retailer for $497 flat! NO S&H, NO tax. read more

I rented two basic road bikes from Naples Cyclery while we were in town visiting. I was very happy with my customer service, the bikes and the group rides that left from across the street. I was very pleasantly surprised to have a saddle bag with a flat kit and water bottle cages. They exceed my expectations and even helped swap the seat out on one. Quick and efficient! My only suggestion would be a tail light as it's never a bad thing to have one on. The cafe next door was a great spot to visit afterwards to! Looking forward to another trip back! read more

I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience ... every employee knew what he/she was doing, more than helpful, accommodating in every respect ... overall excellent customer service. This is some long overdue praise for the crew at Naples Cyclery. I rented a bike for a week back in April when I was visiting Naples from San Francisco. Rather than take my own road bike I was hoping to find a halfway decent rig to rent. Josh and Peter were champs in helping me decide on a Specialized Roubaix, and since I sent my fit numbers in ahead of time, the bike was perfectly setup for me at pickup which took all of 5 minutes. They also helped me during my visit to find good rides with safe roads, and they invited me to join the group rides which I did. All in all a very positive experience, and I'll rent from them next time. read more

Wow! What a great bike shop. My Dad and I purchased two specialized bikes on Sunday. The staff, particularly Peter, Oliver and Frank were extremely professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Pricing was good and they have a one year all in warranty (with the exception of flats). This is defiantly the go to bike shop for all ranges of bike levels; recreational to racing. I find it hard to imagine that anyone could have a bad experience here. read more

They have fair prices and are extremely generous with customer service and repair service! I bought a fabulous bike and they offer free service for a year. Just moving to Naples, I wanted a new bicycle to ride in my neighborhood and saw Naples Cyclery and stopped in. I had a very helpful guy Peter show me a catalog full of Electra bicycles and liked the Fashion series. At this time my husband wasn't with me so I asked him for a price on 4 different bikes, took pics from the catalog to show my husband, Peter wrote all 4 prices down on a "service type tag" with his business card stapled to it. I looked at Electra's website to get further info on the bikes, showed my husband the 4 pics and decided on the KOA 3i, a beautiful bicycle that had all the bells and whistles already on it. Two weekends later, we went back to the store and John S greeted us. We showed him the bike I liked and he rang up the purchase at $929 and asked for $400 down to order it, that was fine but we said Peter quoted us $909 and Peter & we agreed to "table" the price until I can bring back the tag with Peter's written price/card on it (when I picked it up). 2 weeks later and my bike was in and built. It looks beautiful. They helped adjust the seat (even cutting stem) but no other "once over" was given to learn about the bike, we were given a booklet...which is fine my husband can teach me what I need to know (I told them I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid...and I'm approaching 50). My husband showed John the tag with Peter's card and his hand written price of $909, John said "oh ok" and rang us out at $929. I realize it's only $20 in the whole scheme of life but they should HONOR their employees hand writing pricing or atleast...say, I'm sorry he mis-quoted the price. We obviously would have still bought the bike AND left with a good taste in our mouth about Naples Cyclery. The store has plenty of employees to help and have a large selection of bike clothes and bike rentals. They will miss out on our future business as we were going to rent a couple surreys when my relatives come to town, I need new bike clothes and my husband mentioned he was thinking of getting a new bicycle after seeing mine. I was in business for 29 years before retiring and when one of my employees miss-spoke or quoted wrong...the company ate the mistake...I wish many times it would have only been $20! read more

Was visiting a friend in the area, and needed a rental to ride with him. Staff were very friendly and helpful in finding a model that fit my needs, and even gladly brought me out a cheaper, similar bike when I asked. What really impressed me was my return of the rental - on one of the rides the monitor of the bike's computer unit flew off going over a bump. They didn't charge me a replacement fee for that! Awesome bike shop with great customer service. Would definitely deal with them exclusively if I lived in the Naples area. read more

They've got a ton of bikes to choose from -- kids, cruisers, even surreys. Big selection of bike accessories, too, and the mechanics are knowledgeable and professional. The store and set up is great. Although I found renting an arduous process. The person waiting on me had no idea of how to set up the rental and she wasn't too versed in math let alone how to charge a credit card. I went in the day before with the hope of coming in and flying right out the door the next day. I called a half hour ahead and confirmed the bikes were ready. When I came to the store the bikes weren't ready and I had to wait around. After asking if the bikes were mechanically reviewed I was assured they were. The bike I rode had issues with the handle bar stem ball bearings. They were shot and the bike was tremulously noisy. Upon returning the bikes I mentioned the issue with the bearings. The tech took a fast look and did nothing. He returned the bike to the rental lot. It was a Specialized Rode Bike. I hope there are other bike shops to rent from in Naples. I was not happy with this establishment. read more

I can recommend this store without reservation. I have been cycling for many years and the sign of a great cycling store is their customer service. I recently bought an expensive pair of Specialized road bike shoes from this store and had an issue with the shoes that was 100% my fault. Be careful to read the small print on their rental agreements. I had a 3 day rental and had to cut it short to deal w/family emergency. I agreed to pay 1 day, but they insisted the full 3 days. After some outrage and fairness of this, they knocked a day off. They were quite stubborn about it and in my mind, a bit unfair. read more

I had a good impression of Naples Cyclery until today. One of the best stores in the area with lots of merchandise on hand. I've taken many rides and stopped there at their Fit N Fuel for snacks and coffee. Today I bought about $100 worth of stuff and it rang up at $50. The nice lady took my credit card to charge it up and I pointed out there was a mistake and mentioned I was a member of a local cycling club and got a discount but probably not that much. She went and got Peter who corrected the mistake, but didn't add the discount. I mentioned this to the lady and she asked if I had my card with me. I did not, therefore she didn't apply the small discount. So I am honest enough to point out they made a $50 mistake that was in my favor, but not honest enough to believe me when I said I was a member of the local cycling club.
