Had Western pick up my recumbent trike which I bought at their store about 1 1/2 years ago. Had them install several accessories like a safety flag, front and rear lights, with the most important being a speedometer/odometer.They returned my bike and they said everything was working. I took my trike out for a ride. The speedometer/odometer was NOT working. They sent a guy to my house who got it working. I took my trike out for a ride and the speedometer and odometer stopped working after 0.18 miles. Called them and spoke to the owner. She is very rude and blamed me for "messing with it". I only rode my bike. They can't accept that they don't know how to correctly install the speedometer/odometer. I don't recommend Western Bike in Naples FL. Use them at your own peril. read more

An awful experience! After a very nice woman greeted me and understood that I needed some immediate help with a broken crank, she referred me to this disgusting and gruff mechanic. He quoted a price for a part that seemed high but kind of fair given the emergency, but then after he had disassembled my bike, he told me that the parts color would not match my other crank. What!?? I said yes because I was stuck and thought that it might look okay. When he finally returned with the bicycle the part looked awful because it was not a mat black but gloss black. I asked him if I could just ride the bike home about 3/4 mile and then-if he could just order the correct part for me and swap out next week and I would not ride the bike until then. He said NO emphatically and then said besides the black one "was already installed ". Basically saying I was now stuck! BS! Also tried to tell me that my chain and cassette needed replacement for a very high cost. I am now forced to change out the crank when I get home. Will also evaluate the other parts. Honestly, I live in NYC and we have the best and toughest bike repair guys, and they are ALWAYS much more friendly and pleasant to work with than this dude. I was going to buy a new rack bag from him but put it back. Although I always return to Naples Florida every year, I will NEVER stop back in to this shop. I should have walked my bike home!!!! Some small businesses don't care about out of town customers because they won't see them again, however keep in mind we now have the internet and sharing our experiences. I was an out of town customer who happened in to the store today. I am in Naples by boat and needed a quick adjustment to my wheel/brakes. Bikes are brand new and it seemed like a possible 10 minute adjustment. I was told they were too busy. I could leave the bike but I responded again I was out an out of towner and here by bike. I took my Trek bike into the shop for a tune-up and was greatly surprised to find out how reasonable it was, cheaper than my hometown back in Indiana! The owner and his staff were very capable and friendly. Did several adjustments and replaced a set of bike brake pads at no extra cost. Last year I bought 2 entry level Schwinn mountain bikes at western bike. More than pleased with the service and performance here. After sitting in my garage for 6 months the flywheel was jammed up and they repaired it no charge ! I own at least 8!bikes and have been in lots of bike shops and I am impressed with the team here. I went to this bike shop to get air in my tires...they broke the valve stem charged not for tube but (labor!) $10.70 I had to pay as I was 3 miles from home...I walked my bike out got on and realized that my front brake was not attached!!!!! Unbelievable!!! I ended up going 10 miles(in car) to Trek store&they were awesome. Couldn't believe my story. I was in the market for a decent bike for myself and another for my wife. I went to Western Bike and was greeted by a very professional and knowledgeable person who proceeded to show me the various types of bicycles that might meet my needs. He stated that he likes people to try at least two different types of bikes to help them make the right choice. I ended up riding three different models around the block and it became very evident to me which one was best for me. I then explained the criteria my wife had for her bicycle and was shown two or three options. I was able to choose which one she most likely will prefer based on what she had requested and purchased both bikes. I was told once she gets in town and tries the bike, if there's anything she doesn't like or would like different, he will work with us to make it fit her body and personal taste. Later the same day the bicycles were delivered to me free of charge. I am very pleased I chose Western Bikes and feel that I was treated courteously and professionally. So I have 2 used bikes , nothing special. My sons bike needed a link replaced on his chain and the other bikes chain kept coming off. When I brought bikes in and told the issues , the very young guy didn't even write anything down. I was told it would be around 50$. So 2 days later I pick up bikes, they charged me 50$ PER BIKE and got home and the bike that needed a new link wasn't even fixed. So back to the store, they didn't give me any credit or even an explanation as to why it wasn't fixed. I asked if they could possibly deliver it and they said it would be a week. ( I live 1.1 miles away) So I will not go back and don't recommend. read more

Terrible Customer Service!!! I took in a tire and wheel to get the tube changed. When I came back to pick it up the wheel they informed me that the also changed the tire because it was bad. The tire was a Continental, not a cheap tire. It was only a year old and I was not aware of any problems with it. I asked them why they didn't call me to inform me that that tire needed replacement they could not give me an answer. I asked to see the old tire, the owner said to me "I threw it out if you want to go dig it out of the dumpster go ahead". He then took the wheel out of my hand and removed the tire and tube and said " here is your wheel back I want you out of my store ". Granted it was not that expensive to have both the tire and tube replaced, but the owners arrogant and condescending attitude was uncalled for. i informed him I was going to post a review online and he said "go ahead I've been here for 35 years". There are plenty of other bike shops in Naples, i would avoid this one. read more
