I bought a Specialized Como 4.0 back in 2021 during the throws of the plandemic and have brought the bike in at various times for adding a bag and rack to the back, flat tire repair, and recent spoke failure, repair, and tune up. Everyone that works there truly loves cycling and treat each client and customer as a Local and guest. While retail has greatly changed over the years, it is endearing to see small businesses paving the way for folks to get outside and enjoy the sun and nature. Give these folks your understanding. They work hard, and while I have only purchased one bike from them, they have always been very helpful in getting my bike cared for and have new bikes in stock for the avid road cyclist to the beach cruiser. Tom in the repair shop is very knowledgeable and got my bike fixed beyond my expectation. He always had my bike done on same day regardless it is a small or big job. Went in person to make a rental reservation and we paid up front for a weekend rental of 2 bikes with drop off service. The bikes never showed up on Saturday, so we went back to the Cyclery to find out where they were, and we were told they hadn't left the store yet and likely would be delivered around noon (the person we made the reservation with said 9am, as did our receipt). So we told them we were heading out for the day and wouldn't be waiting around, and they should drop the bikes off while we're out. Bikes were dropped off but one was missing a rear light and neither was aligned well (tires hitting the wheel cage). When the weekend ended we dropped the bikes back off at the Cyclery and were told we were all set, but a few hours later someone came to pick them up from our house (we didn't pay for pickup, only drop off). Overall just a crazy amount of poor communication, which is unfortunate because it used to be a great place to rent from. read more

They wouldn't even look at the tire, because "we didn't buy the bike there". Naples Cyclery service department is in the middle of a remodel and it shows. By bike was there for about a week being worked on due to brake issues. when I got the bike home I saw the wheels and brakes were covered in drywall dust. as I inspected the bike further there was drywall dust all over the derailiers, brake calibers, chain ect... I was surprised they did not spray the bike off and gave it back in this condition. read more

Generally been a good place to rent bikes while I visit family in the area. Last time dealt with a rental guy who was completely unaccommodating and acted personally put out to wait on me and later to change bikes. Even though I asked for a male bike on their website, I somehow ended with a female hybrid bike with no water holder. The guy acted like such a jerk I decided to just keep it for the week and carry a small back to hold the water bottle. I'm torn about giving them another try. Rented a specialized Roubaix for the week of my vacation. I had sent in my bike fit measurements beforehand. Bike was in great shape and perfectly set for me when I arrived. I can't believe this place has such a high rating! My wife and I were going to buy 2 sets of shoes and pedalsets for our spinning classes and bikes. When my wife picked out a set of $160 shoes they promised to Fitkit the cleats and pedals to her vintage 1974 Campy Nuovo Record Guerciotti. I got it in writing from the salesman, Ted. Yesterday when we went in to pick up my special order wide shoes and buy the pedals, John, a different salesman with an elbow tat reneged. We showed him the business card with the promise to Fitkit my wife's shoes on it. John said the previous salesman was "New and didn't know what he was doing". When Ted confirmed the promise John made a gesture by twirling his index finger around his ear implying that Ted was somehow emotionally impaired. As I walked over to the store's register with Ted, John started fitting the pedals to my wife's Guerciotti. I wasn't really paying attention to the tatted salesman when he started screwing the pedals into the crank arms with a very large hex wrench. Everything seemed fine as I walked back to the service area and John told me the Pedals were "too tight for your bike's crank arms". Apparently he had cross threaded the pedals onto the crank arms and forced them onto the French threaded crank arms with a large wrench instead of starting the pedals by using his fingers. Now the crank arms might be trashed. We walked out in shock after seeing the damage to the bike and returning my wife's unworn shoes. John has lost this shop a substantial sale and a valuable customer. He had way too much confidence in his lack of ability to do what he though was a simple feat. His arrogance passed for knowledge. I should have questioned him about the French threading and compatibility before he tried to brute force the pedals onto the crank arms. I'm hoping that the damage he caused is repairable. If can find a professional bike shop which has a Campegnolo tool kit with the right Taps and get the crank arms rethreaded if they are able. While we will never patronize this store again, we certainly hope management takes a serious look into John's incompetent and damaging practices, before they lose more customers. read more

Today I went to drop off the two bikes I had rented for the week. I was cycling in the rain to get to the shop in order to return them in time before 5:30. The same man who help me rent the bikes, was there for me to return them to him. His hospitality was NOT it. He gave rude responses and wasn't clear on where and how to return them. To add, the bikes breaks kept squeaking when I would ride and didn't work half the time. Overall poor workers, and poor bikes. Watch out for the bald guy with the beard, he needs to be fired! (Must have some kind of trauma if he's already been mentioned in so many reviews.) read more

Shit show from the start (pardon my french). Brought in my Specialized MTB in because the rear brake needed to be bled and these guys are Specialized "experts" (boy was I wrong). Counter gal was nice and told me 3 days for a brake bleed... tops. Perfect. A week later I call - they hadn't looked at the bike yet. Another week and I get a call from a "service guy" who will remain nameless. He says my brake technology on my 2017 full suspension racer is too old so he'll have to install a new kit - about $150. I tell him to do it. Another week goes by and I get another call from service guy - your shock Brain appears to need a rebuild - another $350. I say OK again... its a high end bike and I figure I'll get another few yrs out of it. Another week, another call from service guy - "your headset appears to be cracked and this makes the bike unrideable" (which is funny because I was trail riding the day before I brought it in). Wow that sucks! Not sure he's correct but I defer to him (big mistake!!!!). So my 6K bike is now junk. He says they haven't done the work yet so I don't owe the shop anything. Well that's at least something good! He says they sent the Brain out for a "rebuild"... however, he says they haven't started work on it yet so he will just get it returned and put the whole mess back together at no charge to me. That's the right thing to do however a freakin month has gone by just to get to this point! Crazy frustrated at this point, but now comes the good part... TWO MORE WEEKS GO BY and I'm told the Brain was rebuilt and I owe $350 for it (I'm guessing service guy didn't follow up with the rebuild shop to tell them to STOP). Super pissed! I ask if he can at least put some kind of rear brake on the bike so I can use it for a town cruiser. Sure he says... $70. NOW I'M THINKING.... WHY IN THE HELL DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT WHEN I BROUGHT IT INTO YOUR SHOP FOR A REAR BRAKE FIX. Service guy calls to tell me I can come and get my bike. We make an appointment for Friday (this morning) at 10am when the shop opens - he wants to show me the headset. I shop up - he doesn't. So I pay my $500 bill and can't wait to get the #%^* outta there - leaving super disgusted by the whole experience! Moral to the story - if you need a cup of coffee, a jersey or a new kickstand for your beach cruiser... this is your kinda shop. If you're a serious cyclist... be afraid... be very very afraid... and run as fast as you freakin can!!!! read more

TERRIBLE customer service. Waited 10 minutes for a bike rental while on vacation and they acted like it was an inconvenience the whole time. Also had a flat tire the next day and I called and they scoffed and noted roadside assistance wasn't part of their package and no drivers on their team could help us. I can't believe I didn't check yelp before renting from Naples Cyclery. After booking in April for a June rental, we were so excited to pick up our 2 passenger Surrey and 1 pull behind trailer. 2 days before we went to pick up I received a reminder email informing me that I needed to arrive 15 min early for check in and bike inspection. Well we arrived 15 min early and they were still setting up and JOHN looked pissed that we were there. We told him that we were picking up and he told us "we aren't open yet" to which I told him about my email and he scoffed and mumbled something and kept setting up. At 10:00 we stepped inside the store hoping to find someone else who would assist with our rental. That person (who's name i didn't get) also seemed annoyed that we were on time. Now a little back story...It was my husband's 50th birthday weekend we were so excited to rent bikes, especially the Surrey! JOHN passed us again and said "Wow you guys are really eager" and that's when I got pissed. I should've left but my card was charged in April at the time of booking. He needs an attitude adjustment or should find another job where he doesn't have to deal with the general public. Hailey ended up helping us set up our bikes and she kinda made the whole experience slightly better. I believe the owner hangs out with his dog or dogs next door quite a bit and hope he reads this because clearly i'm not the only one who feels that the customer service at Naples Cyclery sucks! read more

Stopped in to buy a Biria bike for my wife On Feb. 2, 2022. Jamie showed us the bike and it was priced at $719.99. My wife wanted to think about it over night. Told Jamie I'd probably be back the next day. Went back the next day right after lunch and said I wanted the bike. The price rang up at $855.99 Including tax. Jamie said they raised the price to $799.99 since I was in the previous afternoon. $80.00 dollars more than it was 24 hours earlier. Why didn't he tell me it would be $80 bucks more the next day? My wife and dealt with them in search of a tandem bike, with three wheels. We need the trike back end to accommodate her medical condition, a subset version of ALS. The purpose of the bike is to allow her and us to enjoy the outdoors and exercise we wouldn't otherwise be allowed. Understandably they did not carry the bike but several technicians said when we found the bike to bring it in and they would assemble. Assembly price was not an issue we were willing to pay just to have the bike assembled. Short story two different technicians quoted assembly and then when the bike arrived at our house my wife called the store and the technician said to hurry up and bring it in. This is where everything went sideways. A young guy (claimed to be co-owner) finally sent a technician over when we arrived at the store take back everything previously said. No apology, no nothing, just they didn't know how to work on tandem bikes like this (seriously and you are a bike shop). Employees were OK but young co-owner was an unmitigated jerk that cared nothing about previous commitments made. He must have been having a bad day and just wanted us gone! Good news is we went down the road to Momma's Bike Shop off of Pine Road and the experience was the exact opposite. Professional, courteous and understanding. I had rented a Sun Trike from Naples Cyclery for a month and loved it. It was my first biking experience and the trike was great. So was the way the team handled my rental, delivery and pickup (amazingly professional and kind teenagers), and extending my rental from a week to a month over the phone. When my rental ended, I wanted to buy a Sun Trike from them, but there were no 1-speeds in stock and new ones had been long on backorder from the manufacturer. I waited a month and then found one in stock at another bike shop, who built it for me quickly. Today I went to pick up my trike and a list of accessories. I had a stressful experience in the other store - a feeling of discord with both the salesperson and the technician, and riding away with the seat (designed, it seems, for disabled riders) and seat height very uncomfortable for my athletic body, haven been given an argument about why I was wrong. There were other setup issues, like an immovable mirror that wasn't aimed for my height. I had been so eager to get this trike and have again all the pleasure and freedom I'd experienced with the rental, but my joy was dampened and I rode away feeling stressed out. On my way home, I visited Naples Cyclery. Haley greeted at the door with warmth and openness. She listened to all my issues about trike, answered my questions thoughtfully and expertly, got their wonderful technician Justin to consult about a better seat for me and install it at the right height (confirming that I did know what was best for my physiology). They advised me on the other accessories I needed and installed them with ergonomics in mind. This is MY BIKE PLACE. It's where I find kindness, intelligence, thoughtfulness, and real expertise. From the minute we walked up to the desk and he walked away without so much as a word until we left at the end of the day after returning the bikes he was obnoxiously rude. If we knew the area and knew any other bike rentals close by we would have left. Noticed people coming in and out so we assumed the store was open at 9:50 am (our mistake). The worker states "were closed, can't you see there's a sign on the door." The closed sign is a small piece of wood you can barely see. We apologized and left. He seemed very annoyed and just flat out rude. Much less attitude to deal with at other bike shops in the area. This is probably a good store if you have a Trek or a Specialized. Just don't ask for service on anything that's more complicated. First, they don't even carry any Campagnolo parts. When I asked if they could order the parts I needed I got a shoulder shrug. I've restored 3 different bikes now. Bike restorations are tricky because most bike stores wish that you had never even walked in the door. Others have no idea what you're doing. The service department here made a comment about why I would work on an old bike. I've had really good experiences with EA Bicycles in Fort Myers. I just hate driving all the way to Ft. Myers. Another good shop, and maybe the best. is Bicycle Clinic in Jacksonville. I worked with them on my Raleigh restoration and they were just wonderful. They may be the only place in Florida that is capable of doing paint and decals. It's probably not fair to be critical of a store that has never done what I was asking for. On the other hand they didn't have to just blow me off. In the end they were about as responsive as Wal Mart might have been. read more
