Different view of the squirrel fish

It was a Sunday afternoon and we wanted to take my mom somewhere for dinner - she's not picky, but since she's an experienced cook, it is difficult to get her to compliment any food. We were seated quickly when we arrived, and there were a few other groups already at the restaurant, but there was plenty of seating for us. We were drawn to the Nanjing area food, especially to the Nanjing Salty Duck, which the waitress informed us was the manager's own handiwork. It was very good, so I do recommend getting that. Other fare was ok, we got the Jiangzhe Style No 1 Mix Bowl, you can get that with spicy if you want, or not, but we got it mild spicy. There's many ingredients in there, and it's a satisfying bowl of soup - definitely not for just one person though so please share it with your group. The squirrel fish was also a hit, fried very crispily. Overall, my mom didn't have compliments but she didn't complain about dishes being not worth the money, or that she could do it better at home, so we succeeded.

While waiting in line at Yu's if you can get better food here. We've missed this home cooked meal for long time. some food that simple but showed finest of ingredients and cooking skills of chef in back of the house. We went this place after try to get in Yu's noodle in freezing cold Saturday and found 30 mins waited line. then saw the sign of shop. Why if it a try after peek at window and saw all Chinese customs sitting inside, something must be good. and I got my answer... another favorite restaurant Food not overwhelming by sesame oil, good balance of flavors not over salt or too sweet. If you are in area or want to try good food, this mom and pop might be your answer

    On point. Ordered several times.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The menu is extensive and the food is very authentic. I almost went there every week recently. The food tastes great and prices are reasonable. A few dishes I ordered many times: cumin lamb or beef , braised pork belly, sweet and sour fish (squirrel fish), pork buns, Nanjing wonton soup, and string beans . Highly recommended.

Stir fried pork and rice cakes, delicious!

I keep forgetting about this place because Yu's Noodle is in the same strip mall, but this place is legit awesome. I got the Wuxi style big ribs. Ribs were fall apart tender and the sauce is savory and slightly sweet. The stir fried rice cakes had good flavor and the rice cakes were soft and chewy. It needed a bit more seasoning but that was easily fixed with some of the sauce from the ribs and I also had a side of hot diced pepper marinated in soy sauce to add saltiness and heat. You have to ask for the diced hot peppers and then you pour in soy sauce to marinate. If the waitress doesn't understand, show them my picture of the peppers and they'll know, lol. I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu.

Nanjing Bistro menu is quite impressive for a local neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The food is exciting and very traditional. The food is great, prices reasonable and portions generous. DJ_AZNSAYS: Dependable local Chinese restaurant

Stop by after my grocery shopping. It was a cold night so we ordered soupy dishes. I have not been here for a while, and I have forgotten how nice this place was. The dishes were not pretentious, nice portion and delicious. Our waitress was very good and keeps the drinks refreshed.

Our second time here and has now become one of our favorite places to eat out at! Some must haves for us are the string beans and the mini pork buns. Then we enjoy trying two new entrees. The service here is insanely fast. The food comes out super quick which is really nice.

I have passed Nanjing Bistro many times. For some reason I never went in and assumed it served Americanized Chinese food. How wrong I was! Nanjing Bistro is as authentic as it a great restaurant. I have now been back twice in two weeks. The salty duck and the tripe appetizers are very tasty. Last week I had the fish for two. Deep fried with a delicious coating and drenched in a sweet sauce that is out of this world. Also, very friendly service. I highly recommend Nanjing Bistro! Check out my photos! This is seriously delicious food!!

We ordered the egg drop soup, crispy beef (perfect texture with sweet sauce), and shrimp fried rice (so filling and delicious)! The place itself is quite small for dine in, but I'm pretty sure that's not their target so we were able to get a seat for 2 pretty easily on a Friday evening. We got mostly "ABC" comfort foods - orange chicken, Yangzhou fried rice, Singapore rice noodles - and an order of their dumplings in spicy sauce (a bit surprising as it's a more northern China style compared to the rest of menu). It was definitely a bit much for just 2 of us but we intended to take home leftovers. All of it was delicious, cooked to spec, but what really makes them stand out is their superior "wok-hei"; it is the soul of wok-style dishes and compliments to the chef(s) - they absolutely know their craft and it shines in the flavor. This craftsmanship is lost in the new generation and it's a real treat to see it preserved here out of all places. Dumplings were splendid. Juicy and handmade, definitely hits that nostalgic nook from the back of your head. tldr; charming Chinese takeout spot with superb wok-hei in their dishes

The place was filling up and the ambiance reminds me of a traditional bustling noodle house - perfect for the cold snap we were experiencing at the time. We got hot and sour noodle soup, sichuan beef noodle soup, and an order of their pork soup dumplings. Portions are generous and prices are fair, it's easy to become a regular here if you live nearby. The hot and sour noodle soup is as advertised - just enough spice to complement the sour, but not overwhelm to make it feel like mala. It's served, as expected, with glass noodles, some bak choi, and some pork slices. Nothing spectacular but par for the course. The sichuan beef noodle foon soup was slight notch better. The broth gives really warm vibe and you can tell it's been brothing for a long time. Again just the right amount of spicy to make you keep slurping for more. The noodles were average, chewy, but not bouncy. Also comes with a healthy amount beef slices and bak choi. Again - a great noodle soup bowl but nothing jaw dropping. Soup dumplings were fantastic, however. The pork definitely has its own marinade and the soup is flavorful. The dumpling skin is well constructed and complemented well with the noodle soups - especially in cold weather. tldr; solid noodle soup spot, they seem to be consistent and really hits the mark when you're in a for your noodle fix. Soup dumplings are probably a must get side dish with whatever your main is

It arrived still crackling on the plate, tender and packed with smoky, slightly sweet flavor. The tofu shrimp dish was another surprise favorite -- light but comforting, with silky tofu and perfectly cooked shrimp that paired really well together. For something more classic, the chicken and string beans hit the mark. The chicken was juicy, the string beans stayed crisp, and the garlic sauce tied everything together without overpowering the dish. To top it all off, the restaurant brought out dessert for my brother's birthday, which made the night feel extra thoughtful and memorable.
