Then with a side of poutine for £3 it works out a lot of delish food for not much money, so I treated myself to a large banana milkshake £4 I have had more tender cheesesteaks but certainly not for £4 The poutine was the right balance of cheese and gravy however the fries were a little bitty, small and broken, quite difficult to pick up with the wooden spork given I found the burger cardboard holder to save my fingers getting sticky a fantastic touch I loved the milkshake! So much so I got one of the dreaded ice headaches from drinking too fast I am on the fence regarding the price, is it worth £4, I would happily have it again, not for £4 tho, £2 small £4 large ..... But now I've been 4 times and I have to admit that I am a bit in love with BRGR. Reasons: 1. The burgers are so cheap. £4 burgers Monday - Friday and just £5 on the weekend. I've now tried the chicken bacon cheese and the cheeseburger, and they were both awesome. In fact, the chicken burger almost has too much chicken on it (what a thing to complain about) - I tend to take off one of the fillets of chicken and eat that separately. 2. But they are also really good burgers. I mean, I could get a cheap burger somewhere else and it could taste like rubbish. I've tried a few burgers here now and they are consistently tasty and properly fresh cooked. 3. Staff. They are all proper friendly and welcoming, and manage to run the place calmly even when it's pretty manic and busy. 4. Sides. Ok, I wasn't won over by the wings when I first had them but since then I've tried the poutine (yes) and mac cheese (oh yes) and really enjoyed both of them. 5. Drinks. They could easily mark-up the drinks to cover the cheap burgers but cans are £1 and the booze is reasonable too. I've ever had a nice rosé here. 6. Lunch burgers. Ok, they open at midday during the week. I work from home about 5 minutes drive away. I haven't been for lunch burgers YET because I feel like this is a slippery slope to burger-related-heart-disease. But it might happen soon. 7. And finally - delivery. They told me last week that they're hoping to start delivering by the end of the month. See point 6. I will try to resist this for as long as possible. So yeh, I am pretty in love with BRGR. The name of the restaurant was in sideways vertical lettering on the building face. Making my way in the entrance, a host greeted me and took me to an open table. The dinner rush at that time was small, and I looked over the menu. I went with fried haddock, hand-cut baked/fried chips, small white orbs of pickled onions, and tartar sauce. For my beverage I went with water with lemon in it. Prices were excellent (for example the pickled onions were less than one pound) and the servings were very large, I was happy I was hungry. The fish was perfectly flaky and fried to a golden perfection. The tartar sauce was thick and flavorful and the fries not too crispy nor soggy. They were especially good dipped in the tartar sauce. The restrooms were marked by gender - male and female. I felt more at home with those terms than I did the terms man and woman used back in the United States of America. Found it as a form of confidence builder as a female solo traveler that night. It was still light out when I left and I felt safe walking back out through the alley and to my hotel.

It was frustrating not to have open communication and have management communicate the reason for the slow down. At least prepare some snacks for guests who have waited an exceptionally long time for their orders. I was disappointed with this experience, but have enjoyed many a proper meal at this place. My dad decided to give this place a try. Mediocre is about the only thing I can use to describe them not good but not bad. Burgers were a bit dry and chips undercooked and unseasoned. There is a massive choice of potential burgers in my opinion far too many. But as a chain it is not an outlets decision. Staff were very over enthusiastic and a bit too in your face for my liking. Price wise it is very over priced for what you actually get and i can't say I will be back. There are far far better burgers all over Glasgow for the same price of cheaper.

If you are a real steak lover, probably go for their prime rib. I like my steak a little less fatty. Their cheesy cauliflower was rich and tasty and their tomato salad was just whatever, but it was good tomatoes. This was still one of my better meals here in Scotland.

I ordered: Pollo Croquetas (homemade chicken croquettes) Berenjena (aubergine fritters and Spanish honey) Carne de Ternera (flash fried beef strips with garlic and chilli and red onion) Aubergine/eggplant is always a firm favourite of mine so I was pleased to give this a try. I'm pretty sure I've had it on a previous visit to Tinto actually, and it was really well prepared - a light, crispy batter with tasty eggplant tucked inside. It wasn't soggy or oily and the honey added a nice refreshing sweetness to the fried batter. The beef strips were lovely, and a good amount for the price. Nicely flavoured, perhaps a little more sauce could have been nice but no real complaints. The croquettes were the only thing that I found a little disappointing in that they were a bit bland, and possibly not chicken (maybe fish?). A bit high in the stodge department so I didn't love these like the other dishes. Service was good - friendly, helpful and they didn't seem bothered by our chatting long after we'd finished eating. There was a little awkward moment when we went to place our order and the waitress disappeared for a while but nothing that really affected the experience. The bill came to an incredibly reasonable £22 for two people (3 tapas each) with drinks so there must be some kind of discounted lunch/pre-theatre option which I didn't know about - bonus!

Since we were not hungry, we shared the £13 set which came with a starter and an entree. We love to try weird foods so we selected pigeon. It was fantastic. The pigeon reminded me of liver because it was was tender, chewy, and gamy. The only difference was the texture because liver is more grainy. I loved the combination of the slightly sweet cherry sauce and crunchy peanuts. As for the entree, we chose lamb stuffed with haggis. It was extremely succulent and out of this world. I appreciated that none of these dishes came with bread. Don't get me wrong, bread is amazing but I felt so bloated because sandwiches are everywhere. It was refreshing to have an Atkins diet sort of meal. Also the two generous glasses of wine definitely tied things together. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end because the dessert was anticlimactic. We ordered a cheese dish and vanilla ice cream.
