This was my first visit to viva Brazil although I had heard about it from a friend .... We arrived for a 2.30 pm late lunch in Glasgow on a Saturday and it was great that the place wasn't overcrowded - it was very busy by the time we had left, but I find less busy times better for tastier food and less rushed staff!!. The price was £17.95 for the set lunch and being a groupon queen? Wondered what I would be getting for the price ..... Well after 2 and a half hours of eating and taking breaks between dishes? We were definitely very happy, totally full and completely blown away by the fantastic tender cuts of meats!!! One word ... DELICIOUS!!! For this price you can use the vegetable and salad bar as well as taste all 15 different types of cooked meat that come to your table on a sword type skewer and cut by your own server .... These tender mouth watering pieces of meat range from various types of beef, chicken, pork, gammon as well as sausages and chicken hearts .... The food is to die for!!!! It was such a lovely restaurant and the service/server was fantastic too ... The thing is as well, if you want a wee break? You just flip your card to let the server know ... You then flip it back and the server brings the next cut of meat to your table again ... Each time, the server stamps what you've had ... I'll definitely eat here again as I've already told everyone about it ... And as for value for money? .... Well worth it!!! VIVA BRAZIL has now become my favourite food experience!!! Xxx

2 hours 15 minutes to get this far is just shocking. But I don't have all day. Usually. Would have complete the card of meats.

The hot buffet has certainly got a rubbish selection now. It's a vegetarians dream though. Your teeth will be super clean after chewing on their half cooked salad potatoes. Costella de Porco- Pork Ribs, as dry as eating sand paper, and more salty taste than the Dover coast. Frango com pimenta, chilli chicken, dry. Coxa de frango, chicken legs, dry, almost broke my tooth on something on it. "Hello! Are anyone going to serve me, it's been 15 min since my last piece of meat?" 10 minutes longer zzzzzzzz. I feel like I should be starring in the Ghost movie. Finally! Contra-File Sirloin steak. Dry as hell. It's like chewing rubber. Presunto Defumado, Smoked Gammon. Tooth picks please? It's so dry, I need to floss. Far too much salt, yet again in the kitchen. Ambulance for MacIntyre please. Pescoco de Porco, Parmesan pork. Taste ok with a hint of star anise. Dry as hell. Linguica Brazilian Sausage, tastes ok, but dry. Frango com Bacon, Chicken Bacon, dry as hell. I need oil for the food to slide down my neck. Fraldinha, flank steak. Pink and nice. I have a feeling they were flogging yesterday's meat up until that. Picanha, Cap of rump, pink, and lovely. Too late though. I'm fuming, as I've never had a bad time here up until now. Alcatra, Rump steak nice. Usually by now. I would have eaten everything off the card. But I don't have all day. I want to unleash the fury, but I'm just too polite I'll post how far I got through the card. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! I can't believe one of my favourite places was shocking today. I was given a guy to look after my table. I don't think anyone was. Attention to customers was shocking. This is something that needs addressed fast, as every other time, this has been spot on. This time, I don't think anyone knew what their job or role was. Around 2 hours 15 is shocking, considering what I had eaten.

Colin was a bit hesitant because of how much he disliked Tropeiro, but he agreed because the lunch deal is the Full Rodizio plus unlimited salad bar for £13.

I came here with friends, after attending a film screening at GMAC (Glasgow Media Access Centre), across the road. Fortunately my friend had reserved a table for fifteen. We had three tables pushed together but it was high stools. It was quite tight and some folk couldn't use the stools, but we managed to get a normal chairs and table and we made it work. I unfortunately was driving. Boo!!! I know, right?! So I stuck with the soft drinks. Unfortunately their draft Pepsi was a bit watery but they had cans available. The cocktails looked amazing and some of my friends were really enjoying them. Definitely, next time!!! The band got themselves ready and then they had the place jumping. It already is quite a lively place, so don't come here looking for a quiet date night. The band played pop classics with a Brazilian twist. There was a small area for dancing. So this time, rather dodging it on the way out, I was one of those flang, flung persons, flinging themselves about the place. Remember, I was completely sober. Haha!! It was so much fun. Later on we had a male and a female dancer come out in full traditional Brazilian bling and feathers. It was brilliant to watch and we just joined in, dancing along with them. Overall it was a brilliant atmosphere, lively and a guaranteed fun night out. I do hope I get the chance to try the menu the next time.

The body search was ineffective as we were two international students from two prominent university in Scotland and have nothing to hide. I guess we were taken aback as we did not expect to experience institutional racism and bias from a place like Boteco Glasgow. I was also touched inappropriately by the female security guard while searching .

The bar staff were fast serving and the drinks were reasonably priced too. The club area opens at 11pm and by this time the bar area was very busy! We weren't as impressed with the basement club area which was mostly concrete walls which were spray painted with pictures. Because of the concrete, the walls and ceiling were "sweaty" and literally dripping on you. The music and atmosphere were great but we just couldn't get comfortable as it was a long walk through the crowd to the bar. Also to get to the smoking area you need to fight through the crowded club, then all the way through the bar upstairs also, despite there being another staircase leading directly outside (this was only used for people entering the club). Would go here again but we still prefer El Barrio!

There's also a £1 cloakroom charge, so that's £6 out of your pocket before any drinks. The place is fun though. It's a nice crowd creating a good atmosphere, and a lot of excellent latin beats to dance to. Boteco also serves as a restaurant and bar during the day, with good lunch specials, and cheaper drinks during the week. Well worth a visit.
