I went to Nancy's Kitchen for lunch, and I had a wonderful experience. They are family friendly. They have a kid's menu, and the server brought crayons for my toddler to color. Their food tastes great. I ordered the won ton mein with vegetables. The toppings include green onions, fish cake, strips of fried egg, and charsiu. My toddler really liked it, and she ate so much of it. The broth was light but still very savory. The toppings complimented the noodles well. Charsiu still tasted sweet even with the broth. Wontons were great and were not mushy and just the right amount. I also ordered adobo fried rice omelette to go for my husband. The portions are generous for the price you pay. Picked up my sister in law from Tony Honda were she dropped her car off. My wife suggested Nancy's Kitchen. Well we got to Nancy's at about 9:30 am. Greeted and promptly seated. It took a few minutes before she came to take our order. She was the only server so it was understandable that the service was slow. our table had four different breakfast orders. All of which were not hot. It must of been sitting out a while. My order of homemade corned beef hash with over easy eggs would have tasted better is it was served warm or hot. Surprised this place was still open havent been here in years...Only used to come here mostly for darts. Located in the same shopping center as waipio foodland. The insides still looks thr same as years back. Clean airconditioned but definetely dated but comfortable. Upon entering we were told to sit anywhere....times are hard everybody short staffed...think only had one waitress doing everything.... there are booths and tables and they have an in house clean bathroom. The menu is pretty much a little bit of burgers fries..entries...etc (pic of menu) Food was okay...nothing really stood out not good or bad just decent....prices was fair portions average...all in all not a bad experience I dont think I would return but it was ok. read more

OK, so it's been years since I came here! I believe the last time I came here was when I downed several gnarly Bob Marley shots I honestly don't even think we ate here. My friends and I stopped in for lunch today at about 11:00am. The place was empty, only had 2 tables taken. The girl brought us menus right away and asked us what we wanted to drink. We all got water. After a few minutes, another girl came by to take our order. I'd say the food didn't take too long and I was happy that all 3 came out at the same time. I ordered the Teri beef sandwich with fries. It was just ok, nothing spectacular but a little on the saltier side. The fries were good. My friend didn't care for the won ton in her saimin. The won ton wrapper appeared really thick. She took all of her filling out and only at the filling. My other friend ordered the French dip and she ate it all. The server came by twice to fill our water. I was surprised that it was so empty. The whole time we were there, only one couple came in to eat. I wonder how they can stay in business. Lunch seems really slow. The ambience is very dated and they could use a renovation or an updated look. Beer cases are stacked in the hallway by the bathroom. We went recently after a 5th grade graduation for Pearl Harbor Christian Academy. Got seated quickly and served when we were ready, waitress was pretty on it throughout our stay for breakfast. It's been over a decade since I've last visited this place and I don't even recall them have a sit down dining in. Met up with a couple of friends to have dinner and catch up. I ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and got the complete meal which comes with either a soup or salad, dinner roll and jello or pudding. We must have picked a night where they ran out of a lot stuff, because they didn't have soup or pudding and some other entrees that I can't remember. Service isn't fast at all but they try their best. It's a good thing our group was as patient as we could be. Not sure if I'll be coming back but if I do, I'm going to try something else. Nancy's Hawaiian plate is a winner!!! Lomi salmon large portion, I could taste the salmon. Lau Lau the fresh taste of the ingredients was an unexpected surprise. So was the Kalua pig. Came here twice in the last week or two because it was one of the places that could accommodate our party size without any reservations. Both times we were a party of 15 and 12, respectively. The first time, it seemed as if our server was the only person working. Along with our party, she also had 3 other tables and you could tell that she was the only one on because of how fast she was moving. But I give her credit, she did well with our party along with the other tables. Our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. She kept our drinks full as well. On to the food. I ordered the ox tail soup. I thought it was pretty good but there were lots of Chinese cabbage in it. However, there were a good amount of meat which was also tender. My Daughter had the saimin but nothing special about it. I felt like the noodles were overdone but she's a kid so she doesn't know any better. We just really like Nancy's Kitchen. This is one of those places where you assume you know what's on the inside until one day you realize you did not. We have a good friend and a neighbor who are regulars at Nancy's, but I had never been ourselves. About two weeks ago I visited for the first time and went back again this week. Parking is easy, I like the separate restaurant and bar area, and the crowd is lively, the service is friendly but also efficient and professional. Prices are reasonable and there's a giant menu including local options and oxtail soup. There's something for everyone on the menu, and this is a good choice for anywhere from solo dining, to dates to sports teams. Everyone was very welcoming. went to celebrate a coworkers last day, so we made reservations for a late lunch on veterans day a lot of people kept trickling in and they were pretty steady and busy, which was junk because there was not enough wait staff to accommodate everyone. it took a long time for anyone to get our orders or bring our drinks, and then sometimes theyd forget drinks. other than them being understaffed they were very friendly, so at least that aspect of customer service was on point. food was good. old school diner style which is getting harder and harder to find, so it was a comfort to know that there are still places like this that do exist. there is a large area for dine in customers, and then after 3pm the bar opens (whenever the bartender shows up as they were late that day). bar side is a lot smaller. basically just counter space and a couple of small tables. lots of dart boards though and a digital jukebox. great place to get lunch, relax place to just chill and have a few drinks. there were a few people on the bar side who were just there by themselves, chilling. tons of parking in that shopping center too so thats a plus. read more

I don't understand how this resturaunt has 2.5 stars... very surprising to me as the service is almost always great, the food be bomb and the wait is never long. Went several times and top two things I would recommend would be the li hing margarita. Can be blended or served on rocks, and... best of all. You can ask for extra li hing! I'm not a fan of tasting alcohol so masking the taste and have it creep up to you is more of my route, hehe, second thing you have to try is their pork chops! Hands down one of our favorite local spots! Best bartenders, best food, best drinks! I'm extremely disappointed to see that it only has 2 1/2 stars. But why? This place has great food! We always order 2 of the fried pork chops. It's always cooked to perfection and a side of that tangy yummy sauce! We tried the clams for the first time. Wow they were so good. That butter garlic sauce was great! We actually had to order another one because it was so good. The wings & poppers are a great pupu to have while you are drinking. We come here a lot and we always order Bob Marley's. Not to sure what's in it but it's our favorite! It's colorful and delicious. They have dart boards but lately since Covid, they haven't been using all of them because of social distancing. Hopefully that changes soon. We always enjoy coming to Nancy's. Honestly I was afraid to eat here after I read all of the horrid reviews. It does have a strange smell & the booth cushions definitely need replacing. I was almost wanting to leave when we were waiting so long to be seated just to be told that we could've seated ourselves. The food was thankfully tasty. We've been going there for years as they have one of the best Chop Steak plates on the island. One day we went there and they served green beans instead of the corn. The beans were really over done and I complained and was told that it was the leftovers from the day prior. Well if was over cooked the day prior what do you think it taste like now? I had heard they had fired my favorite server, we never really went for the food . . . small portions, over priced, not consistently, but Jess made our Sunday mornings! Our dining experience was ruined by disorganization, unprofessional service, food coming out at different times, it was a disaster. When we asked for refills they didn't come. I have seen Jessica's handle the entire restaurant by herself and making drinks at the bar and the dining experience NEVER faltered. When ONE door closes, another RESTAURANT opens. Mother in law, hubby and I came here for lunch since we were in the area. Food here was just average and nothing to write home about. I have been here once before and I had the chicken salad. Today I had the chicken stir fry that came with onions, green peppers and mushrooms. It also came with green beans, the canned kind. Bland! The stir fry was good but a little salty. For appetizer, we had nachos which was your standard nacho cheese, sour cream, salsa, and jalapeños. I picked off the jalapeños as I don't like them. Seating is limited.
