Driven past multiple times but first time eating here. Lots of beers, seltzers on tap. So many great choices. They will allow you to taste a small bit before buying a cup which is good. Ordered some apps. They ran out of sliders so made us a pulled pork sandwich/burger instead. Also got brussel sprouts which were too sweet imo but had a great crisp! Fish and chips were fried perfectly. We liked the thickness of the fries. Wings were great too. Enjoyed the honey chipotle flavor. The ahi tataki was refreshing and liked the chili crisp on top. Went to Taps & Apps over the weekend to enjoy an early dinner while in the area. Service was friendly and it wasn't too loud despite the football games on the screens. They have a good variety of craft beers on draft, as well as canned and bottled options. I enjoyed my dragonfruit lemonade Cider from Ola while the hubby tried a pineapple sour by Lanikai and an IPA by BeerLab. We split an order of garlic fries, smash burger sliders and the green salad. There was a hefty portion of fries and they were crisped nicely on the outside, fluffy inside. Salad had a tangy balsamic dressing which complemented the sweet strawberries and candied Mac nuts. This review is for takeout only. I called and ordered take out for their french dip burger, smash burger sliders, and garlic fries. OMG hands down delicious food! The french dip burger was so ono. It was topped with sauteed mushrooms, gooey cheese and onions. It was juicy, cooked perfectly and I loved that they separated the bottom bun from the rest of the burger because you know if the burger is juicy that will make the bottom bun soggy. It's all about the details! The garlic fries were hot, crunchy and delicious which paired perfectly with the burgers. I don't have pictures because we were so hungry and demolished the food when we got home. The wait was kind of long but it was worth it. I'd say it took about 30 min but when I walked in they were busy. It's a bar where they also have karaoke when I walked in. The bartender was friendly when I asked about pick up orders. The atmosphere is okay, but they always have trivia or karaoke going, which is annoying and you have to pay to karaoke per song. The owners are rude, look homeless. and look unshower. Makes me wonder if they shower. They always look dirty and unclean. They touch people's food, but still look dirty. The bar service is excellent. Only reason I leave my home bar. I haven't been to Taps & apps in YEARS. I used to live in Mililani so I would frequent there all the time as the only other option for a bar is the shack... but we went recently and I was genuinely surprised with the food! I'm so sad I didn't take any photos but the zucchini fries were so bomb and my favorite was the mushroom and Brie flatbread!!!! Amazing. They have a lot of beers on tap, mixed drinks, and wine. Great liquor selection. We went on a Friday and they had live music outside and honestly we had a great time. Server was able to do split checks for our large group which was super kind. I have been to Taps and Apps a few times because my sister-in-law sings there at least twice a month on weekends. If the service was bad there, she wouldn't bother singing there but all the staff that I've encountered are great. Taps and Apps is a great bar located in Mililani Mauka of all places. It's a good size restaurant inside and out. Great for several large groups. And the patio is now covered. While I was there this past Saturday, it rained and we stayed nice and dry. The bar is great for watching sports. They have some board games that you can take to your table and play. But no dart or pool table. The pool table would take up too much room leaving less seats and this place can get really crowded during the weekend. And the food is AWESOME! I prefer appetizers and they have a great assortment of them with a local flare. They just added chicken katsu sliders and it was really good. I couldn't eat all of the garlic fries so I brought it home. Normally, I don't bring home fries but I didn't want this to go to waste. As I'm usually the DD, I don't drink nor do I like the taste of beer. But if you're a beer aficionado, flights are available. However, I do like a good mocktail. Unfortunately, the cocktails are flavored because of the alcohol so no mocktail for me. But I did try my first hard seltzer there, the Ola Hibiscus and it was pretty good. Went well with the sliders and fries. If you like live music, I recommend going on Fridays. There's no stage but the setup for the singer or band is on the deck. But you can still enjoy the live music while inside as the music also plays in the restaurant. There's a lot of restaurants in this shopping plaza so parking nearest Taps and Apps during dinner can be difficult. However, if you don't mind a little walk, you can park by Starbucks where there's plenty of parking in the evening. And the bathroom, nice and clean, even on busy nights. Every visit and experience at Taps and Apps has been 5-stars for me. So if you'd like to try something outside of town, just to relax, Taps and Apps is a great place just for that. read more

Wanted to try taps and apps because of the football game, and our friends and family had good things to say about this place. Food was good and the portions were big enough to feed two people, but the service was just ok. Taps and apps is located at Mililani Mauka near Gyu-Kaku. Upon entering we were greeted with our server who was also the bar tender. She was great, I wish I got her name. She food came out fairly quick (thank goodness because we were starving!). Our server then informed us that she was leaving and that she'll close us out and we can order more food with our new server. Our new server never came to our table to ask us if we wanted more food or asked how we were doing. We sat outside and ordered several of the items off of the happy hour list. We were meeting an old classmate, so we were on the patio for a while chatting and enjoying the food, company, and view. It was much quieter outside. There was plenty of parking in the front depending on the day and time of day. The service was pretty good-we weren't neglected nor did they hover. We have driven by this place many times and seen it very busy outdoors. This bar and appetizer place is in an inside corner of a strip mall with outdoor dining facing Meheula Pkwy. We came early and sat at a bar height small round table. We are not big drinkers, but we ordered a lot of appetizers. A football game was on the television and projector screen. The chicken wings were big and crunchy. We ordered it with the sauce on the side. Salad with mixed greens and strawberries was large and filling. We sat at a table and during the first shift, we needed to go to the bar and order our drinks instead of having a server. When the second shift came in, we closed out our tab but was never officially assigned a server. After waiting for about 20 minutes I finally stopped both servers but even then no one would officially claim themselves as our server and it seemed like I inconvenienced them by stopping them to ask for drinks. They have a lovely patio in back with retractable awnings and the trunk of a rainbow eucalyptus tree that were the perfect space for a party. The food was on point! I guess they recently got a new chef. We had both the burger sliders and the pulled pork ones. The pork sliders were my favorite. The burgers had a perfect crisp cook on the outside. Cool hangout-type restaurant in an unexpected area. Mililani isn't typically a part of island that draws you in for a night out, but Taps and Apps is an exception. It's tucked in the corner of a plaza with lots of free parking. Even on a Saturday night, we were able to get seated right away. We sat outside where there was live music, which was awesome. The indoor vibe is also cool; a little dark and casual. Food and drinks were both good. We liked the Lycheetini & their house mule! It's also awesome that they offer flights of their draft beers! A convenient watering spot in Mililani Mauka area. Went there for a bit of appetizer around dinnertime. Wasn't very hungry since had a late lunch, so just ordered some chx wings, calamari, and creme brulee along with a drink. Wings and calamari were pretty good and came pretty quick. The creme brulee took a bit longer since I guess they gotta prepare the carmelized sugar top, but it was thumbs up! So if you're in the Miliani Mauka area, don't feel like driving across the freeway to Town Center or The Shack for some adult beverages and food, an alternative spot to consider! My 2nd time there and both times were pretty good based on my limited sampling! Great place to stop while in Mililani! They have an amazing array of beers on tap, lots of local options as well. Pretty great menu, a bit expensive, but high quality. Highly recommend their Lahaina Haze and the Route 70. Was really happy with the hapa nachos. Really unique idea with potatos with nacho cheese, kalua pork, tomato and onion. The appetizer was really hearty. There was a pretty loud party sitting near us but overall good seating choice options at bar, high tables, or even outside. Definitely has a local feel to this establishment. TV was on playing hockey, not much sporting options during the summer but this place might get super busy during basketball or football season. If you live too far from Honolulu and you're craving a beer but don't want to go to a brewery because it's far, this is a great option. This brewpub it tucked away in the shopping center, parking kind of sucks, but if you can find a spot I recommend checking this place out. Upon entering the women at the door checked our IDs and gave us a wristband. She informed us it was open seating so we just went to the bar. Rachel was the bartender and she was very friendly and efficient. She recommended some beers for us to try which is just what we wanted. We didn't want anything too big so we ordered the Brussel sprouts and "nachos" which were really just stuffed potato skins. Both were lacking on the flavors, so we asked for a side of Buffalo sauce and that improved both dishes immensely! Portions were satisfying and the beer selection is good, they had 36 different beers (local and from all over the US) on tap. There is live music on Friday that started at 8. This is a cool little spot in Mililani next to wing stop. It was packed on a Friday but my friend and I were lucky enough to snag a table. When you first walk in, sign in is to the right and then you just wait until someone is able to card you and give you a wrist band. I'm not sure if they do this every night, the whole wrist band thing, but either way stay put and follow the directions on the sign. Once your seated there is a QR Code to scan on each table and it's a bit of a wait because the servers are all really busy. I highly recommend putting in drink orders and food orders all at the same time. Once service got started our waiter was great. Loved all the apps except the pupu steak. The brown gravy tasted like McCormicks but everything else was excellent. We also had a mushroom flatbread and garlic parm fries which were delicious. Came here for a small get together with friends from Crossfit. Located in Mililani, a small but spacious bar. The place was very comfortable with outdoor and indoor seating. There was a sign on the door informing guests that they were short staffed and to be patient. Saw a total of three staff, the chef, the bartender, and the waitress. However during our time there, we were checked up on a decent amount of time. Our waitress Paige was great. She checked up on us at the right times. It was our first time here aside from one of us who has been here before. The food was amazing and they had a wide selection of drinks. They had drinks from beers on tap, craft beers, wines, and cocktails. I had one of the craft beers that tasted of orange vanilla, it was so good. For our food we ordered a lot. We tried their Sea Salt Fries, Pupu Steak (Cooked Medium Well), Salmon Dynamite Dip, Mushroom & Brie, Zucchini Fries, and Burger Sliders. The amount of food we ordered was fulfilling. I really loved their Salmon Dynamite Dip. This came with wonton chips. The Pupu Steak was cooked nicely, just wish the portion was a little bigger for the price. Zucchini fries were a bit more on the soggier side seemed that they didn't drip the oil out but the regular fries were crunchy and thick. Overall my experience there was great. I didn't want to do this because Taps is the closest liquor establishment to my house (Mililani Mauka) but the other night was too much. Now I'll be forced to drive out of Mililani to find a decent place to get a drink. It seems like most of the negative reviews I've read relating to Taps has to do with customer service or lack thereof. Well ... that is what I'll be primarily focusing on. First off, let me say that I've been going to Taps since they first opened in Mauka. No ... I'm not an alcoholic. LoL I barely drink but at least once or twice a month, my GF and I will go to Taps to cruise and talk story. I thought it was awesome driving for less than 5 minutes to get to my neighborhood watering hole for some pupus and a craft beer but ... looks like those days are gone. The other night, my GF and I get to Taps. We get carded at the door and told to seat ourselves. Fine, not a big deal. I prefer choosing my own table anyway. Once we sit down, I look around and see only one waiter in the entire place. Whatever ... times are hard. Who knows. Maybe he's a really efficient waiter. Anyway, we scan the QR code and check out the menu for whatever reason (we always order pretty much the same thing every time). Once we decided on what kind of pupus we were getting and which craft beer we were gonna try, I try to make contact with the waiter. Now keep in mind that by this point, we had already been sitting there for roughly 10 minutes. During that entire 10 minutes, the server hasn't so much as greeted us, asked us if we wanted water, or even told us "I'll be with you in a few minutes". I know for a fact that HE SAW US when we sat down so he KNEW that we were there. (As a reference point, there were about (6) other groups seated throughout Taps. About (2) of them were cashing out.) So ... this clown walks back and forth, back and forth literally 5 feet away from us without ever saying a word. At this point, I'm trying to make eye contact with him to throw the hint that we needed help and wanted to place our order but ... nothing. This goes on for another 10 minutes. When I look around for the lady that carded us, she was sitting by the door playing with her phone. I'm guessing her only function was to card customers. She apparently wasn't going to be any help. By this point, I stand up and walk over to the bar to get us a couple of beers. Well, that didn't work out too well either. I stood there for a few minutes while the bartender chit chatted with an old drunk guy that was cashing out. After a few minutes, it didn't seem like she was going to help me so I walk back to our table. As I'm sitting down, I noticed the "waiter" look at me then quickly look down at his phone. I ask my GF "Is it me or does it seem like this guy is purposely ignoring us?" I even asked her if she thought that I was being impatient and/or unreasonable simply because she's normally way more patient than I am. She was actually pretty annoyed too at that point. We were tripping out. To make a long story short, the waiter walks back and forth a few more times without so much as looking at us. We basically wasted another 10 minutes just sitting there waiting to be helped. I cannot even explain how pissed I was. Each time I looked at this "waiter" (as he walked by), the more I wanted to throat punch him. Just in case he reads my review, it was you, the waiter wearing a baseball cap, glasses, with dreadlocks going down the back of your neck. When we finally walked out, the lady who carded us didn't even notice. She was probably too engrossed in her IG or Facebook account to care. As I drove off, I thought about it and realized that over the years, all of the really nice waiters/waitresses/bartenders that I enjoyed interacting with were all gone. Every single time we go there, I don't recognize any of the wait staff. There is always a new waiter/waitress helping us. I never really gave it much thought because like I said, I rarely go out and drink but after what I experienced the other night, it seems like the turnover at Taps must be pretty high. Whatever the case, I'm done with Taps. DONE!! That dreadlocked server did it for me. I would rather drive the 20 minutes into town than to give my money/business to these clowns. For what's it's worth, I've noticed that the rating for Taps on Yelp has been steadily declining over the years. At least now I know why .. read more

Ho everytime i've come here it's always been a good time. There's such a big selection of beers to choose from and you can just get a flight to try multiple ones, and so far it's been pretty good. And even the food is bangin. The salmon dip, shlangin. The sliders, can't go wrong. The fries, they're fries they're good. One of my childhood friends recommended we get the arugula thing, I don't even like vegetables like that but it was so good. Like, even the brussels sprouts were good, like what the heck dude. I was shoving that stuff in my mouth it was so good. The ambiance of the place is so comfortable as well. Dark interior with warm lights makes the inside really comfortable. And the outside patio area has these cute lil hangin lights, and there's live music sometimes.
