Shared with my wife and we came for lunch today. Took a moment to find how to drive in the back of the mall / building (recommend the driveway ramp on the East side of the building). Then when we pulled up, my wife was like "where are you taking me?!" being this is kinda a "hole in the wall bar"! ;0) Sign is inviting, Yelp profile as well... so we went in! Staff were super friendly and the restaurant / bar was very clean! We just wanted a light lunch / pupu style, so we got the sizzling steak, fried noodles and chicken wings. Wings were good. Fried noodles a really good comfort food! And the sizzling steak was awesome!! We'll be back to try other options and for drinks! PLUS, they are open until 2pm! Sometimes it's hard to find decent food later in the day once you head West from Honolulu, NOW we know a place!! "Thank You... Very much!"

We sat ourself on a high table and was greeted by our bartender who was so sweet. She recommended the top 3 holiday drinks to us, which we tried. We really liked the 1) Jack Frost, 2) Abuelita's Hot Cocoa, and 3) Grinch Punch. Our cocktails were delicious and I liked the chill atmosphere and vibe this place had to it since we came once the mall was closed. This bar only served alcohol so I heard it was BYOF = bring your own food to enjoy while you drink, which is pretty cool! I definitely would come again!

So I opted for a beer & a special from the bar, Let Them Talk. LTT has several bar stools, but you can take your food and/or drink to any table in the food court. Ordered a draft of Asahi and the beef bulgogi special ($10, rice & mac salad included). Several minutes later, everything was ready. We picked up our order and went back to the table we were sitting at. The food was meh, and salty in the tradition of bar food everywhere. But it filled you up and counteracted the beer. I haven't lived in Pearl City in over 40 years, so this was a rare waystop. But if circumstances presented itself, and with low expectations I would come back. Months before my trip to Oahu, I tried to book a reservation to Bar Leather Apron but was unable to…read moredo so because the reservations were immediately scooped up right as they were released. To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.
