Nancy is an incredible doctor and super kind person. I especially appreciate her office staff.

Just recently I've been getting notifications from this dentist to say that I owe money, which is false and really ballsy considering the experience I had in her office. Years and years ago (12 years ago), I went to Dr. Aharon because I had just moved to the area and had begun working as a contractor. I had to pay out-of-pocket for dental insurance, so it seemed there were few that actually accepted Delta Dental (HMO). That said, I found her online and she was close. I had no idea that there could be such incompetence when it came to insurance accredited practitioners. Boy, was I wrong. I will never forget this as long as I live, as it was a traumatizing experience. First of all, the day I came in, she had no dental hygienists. I came in for a cleaning and a checkup. She apologizes and tells me, she'll do it along with the exam. She puts me in a room that is in need of cleaning and some updates. It hardly felt like a sterile environment. Next, this guy walks in (in just standard business casual wear) and begins asking me questions from my new patient questionnaire. He seems like he has no idea what he's doing. He puts on gloves. At one point while asking me questions, he sticks his fingers in my mouth without much warning at all. He carries on using the gloves to write things down, then goes to put his fingers back in my mouth. WHAT? I don't even believe he was a trained dental assistant or anything. Super unsanitary. All this to say, Dr. Aharon came in, did a pretty quick job at "cleaning" my teeth. The whole time she is in my mouth, she is trying to tell me that I probably have sleep apnea. She attempts multiple times to get me to rent some machine from her. It was the most bizarre doctor visit I'd ever had, to say the least. When she tells me I have two cavities and goes to schedule an appointment to fill them, I tell her I'll call to make that appointment. As I'm going out the door, she's still trying to get me to rent some sleep apnea testing equipment. Good grief. And there was no way I was letting this woman fill cavities! I paid my copays, but I never came back. Luckily, I found another dentist who was super sympathetic and helpful, willing to give me an exam and cleaning for the price of my copays, even though Dr. Aharon used up my insurance's allotment. Have you seen this lady's reviews on every platform? I was hoping this was experience was some sort of fluke or off day, but it looks like she shouldn't even be practicing. I even called Delta Dental about her when this happened. Anyway, the fact that she has the nerve to say I owe money? After that experience? After all these years? For a "cleaning" when she had no hygienists there? Wow. This lady might have more problems than being a bad dentist. read more

They were the wrong size grinds them with a Dremel tool wrong size wrong color "fixed the front tooth and it's already broken off the piece that she put on and charged 200 bucks to the insurance company stay away. read more

Omg where do I start? I went to Dr. Aharon about 2 months ago because of a toothache. She did an initial review of my teeth and said that she can fix the tooth in question as well as fix a couple of other teeth that looked like they might cause problems down the road. She told me that I had to make an appointment the following week and I did. The following week I go to her, and she says she has to do a deep clean and filling as well as take x-rays of my teeth, which she does while I am there. Next thing I know she's filling my teeth with this stuff that she has to use UV light on. She then goes to show me my teeth after she's done with the filling stuff. Doesn't look bad and the toothing question wasn't hurting anymore. She then goes on to say that I have to schedule an appointment for the following week for another deep cleaning. At this point, I'm starting to get curious cause I don't know any Dentist that would actually do this, but she is the Dentist so I believed her at that point. Three days later, though the fillings that she just put in all fell out taking parts of my teeth with it. Now I have three broken teeth that's causing me a great deal of pain and find out that I have an infection, possibly an abscess in my teeth. Fast forward to today I'm an excruciating amount of pain. I'm on antibiotics and now I have to go to an oral surgeon to have the teeth extracted shortly after there shortly after I went to see her last time I get a text message from her saying hey you owe us over $5000. $5000 for mistake that you made as well as trying to push her sleep apnea machines on me. Like I already know, I already have sleep apnea, but she wanted me to do a sleep study which of course I declined. She still wanted to do a sleep study on me and really was pushing for me to do that which has nothing to do with my broken teeth that she did. Don't get me wrong she's a nice sweet little lady, but she knows how to sweet talk people because she's an old lady I've seen several reviews on her here. It was just figuring that people just had some bad experiences with her, but in all honesty there is over you are completely truthful. I've seen some of the tools that she's used. I've seen the rooms that she uses, and none of it is good. There was one guy there that I saw had no idea who he was just walked into the place. Apparently he's a relative of the Dentist. Completely unprofessional If I knew then would I know now I would've never went to her because of her now I have to deal with pain until this upcoming Tuesday so I can have these teeth extracted which is affected my sleep has affected my work has affected my social life so if you have a chance to go someplace else, I would definitely go someplace else. I will say having medicaid you don't get many options with dental & after covid when you call a dental office with an emergency most offices are scheduled out 6-9 months. After reading some bad reviews online I will say I was very hesitant but all in all I am so glad I gave in & scheduled with Nancy. A few days after Christmas my tooth between my front tooth and eye tooth had cracked right down the middle and few days after the rest had fallen out & it was a tooth that had a prior root canal I called everywhere Pitt Dental, Nova Dental, Munhall Dental - everywhere where AmeriHealth (medicaid) states they accept.. Pitt couldn't get me in til July, Nova Dental told me they don't work with AmeriHealth, Munhall scheduled me and then called me 2 days before my appointment and canceled stating they no longer work with AmeriHealth... Great 42 years old - I run my own cleaning business - I talk to clients everyday & now I'm missing a front tooth that can be seen when I talk & smile I was so insecure - I hated myself. I called Nancy's office they seen me in February she put a post in made it look really great but also told me it was possible it would come out that I needed a post space and referred me to Pitt Dental here we are end of May it took a bit for Pitt to finally get me in - no fault of Nancy's- I ended up needing a repeat root canal and just about 2 weeks later Nancy's put the post & crown in - I feel great smiling again. I see alot of ppl complaining about the sleep study, or dirtiness, bugs, or ignorant staff. The staff has always been pleasant & helpful, I've never seen a bug, to me dirtiness - I don't think its dirty I just think the rooms being painted different colors, etc may have ppl think that & the sleep study - I didn't feel pushed into it but I feel its smthg that's offered or planned to help her get insurance to approve certain dental procedures or products like night guards, etc.. As far as Nancy goes - I really like her - she talks through the whole procedure, explains everything, answers questions, etc.. I'm so glad I didn't listen to all the bad reviews.. This place traumatized me. First the place was in a building that looked abandoned, then the place seemed unclean, and I saw bugs during my visit. She didn't even clean my teeth, and then proceeded to tell me I probably had sleep apnea. Sold me on a ring to rent. Took it home, had a bad feeling and decided not to go back but offered to mail it. They drove to my house to get it. Very odd. I now looked at my claim and they legit billed me for nutritional counseling, tobacco counseling and for giving me hygiene instructions?! WTF??!!! I have seen Dr. sharon for about a year and a half. She tried to sell my something for sleep apnea. I told her yes, I have it, and no, I didn't want to rent her equipment for a sleep study. The first visit was 5 minutes long. She told me my gums were red and couldn't do anything until I had used peridix. The second time, I went in for a cleaning. She said I had 1 cavity. Nobody called me to reschedule. I called a month later, and I was told to show up at 9 am. The tooth was fixed. Then, less than a month later, I was chewing gum, and my tooth cracked in half. I called, and she was out of the country visiting relatives, which I understood. Most doctors have someone cover them, tho, and she didn't. So I got an appointment as soon as she got back. She used some kind of putty and used a uv light to harden what she had done. One month later, it broke off while I was eating a cheeseburger. I called and went in the next day to be fixed. She told me I had a small mouth and said she had trouble fixing the tooth. The tooth broke off the next day. So, to find out I have jaw pain. Then, the next day, my face was swollen. I found an emergency dentist who took exrays. To find out my right side, the bottom jaw is highly infected. I had to have the tooth removed. I'm on two antibiotics for the infection, which is dangerous because I'm diabetic and have a very low immune system. I will never come back. Where to start? The beginning is usually good. I should have taken the initial phone call to set up the appointment as an indicator that things were amiss at this office. Within the first 5 minutes of contacting the office to schedule appointments, I learned that the receptionist hates the president, is glad he got Covid, and hopes he dies. She had quadruple bypass surgery, has mental health issues that her psychiatrist is getting her meds adjusted. Good to know. After 45 minutes of what I thought would be a quick 10 minutes to get my appointment scheduled, I'm done. Appointment day. After 3 pages of ridiculous paperwork, including my sleep patterns, I'm finally getting taken back to the exam room. The room was gross to be kind. There was medication and gloves laying out. The dental hygenist came in with a tray of tools. RUSTY tools. Not in sealed packages. I just about crapped a brick when I saw what they wanted to put in my mouth. No. The hygenist brings out this basic toothbrush that wouldn't clean dirt from a peach. And instructs me on how I'm brushing my teeth wrong. After finding out that I actually used a spin brush and use a water pick, she rolls her eyes at me and walks away. I guess I use the wrong stuff even though my old dentist said I had great teeth and gums? The dentist...oh lord. She pokes a few teeth and declares all of my fillings bad. ALL OF THEM. I have 4 that were filled 23 years ago. They're silver. In 23 years no other dentist has ever said anything was wrong with my fillings. Usually, I get a surprised "Oh, those are really good." She then comments on the fact my teeth are pearly white and insists I smoke. I don't. I drink a lot of coffee and tea. Yeah, my teeth are stained. I'm 35. I survive on drinking coffee and tea. She then talks about me needing braces because my bottom teeth are too crowded and it's creating sleep apnea. Wait, what? I have never had anyone, including my PCP's, ever mentioned sleep apnea. Because I wake up with headaches? No, I have other issues that result in headaches, not sleep apnea. After discussing sleep studies, which are not going to happen, she brings up braces. Since my bottom teeth are crowded I obviously need braces to correct that. She can get me a great deal for $3000 even though my insurance doesn't cover the Invisalign she wants to use. As I was checking out the receptionist mentions scheduling an appointment for the next week for a deep cleaning. What deep cleaning? I don't need a deep cleaning, especially when the dentist said my gums and periodontal pockets are great. Why deep clean them? I don't need that. 100% recommend AGAINST going to this dentist. Don't go here. Serious. Just...don't. I'll be holding off on another dentist appointment until open enrollment and I can change my dental plan and go back to my old dentist. In fact, I called them. I told them to hold onto my file and I was calling them next September to schedule our appointments and we miss them. read more

I found a Groupon for cleaning, exam and X-rays so I decided to give them a try. First impression, the office is very shabby with dirty furniture in the waiting room. I was kept waiting for my appointment over an hour! Once I was in the exam room, it was another 30minutes before anyone came in. This gave me plenty of time to notice the cracked and missing flooring as well as dust and dirt throughout the corners and vents. Not at all an ideal place to be sitting with your mouth open. Two hours into my total wait, I finally saw the dentist. She was pleasant enough it nothing extraordinary. Overall, between the unkept office and the incredibly long wait, I would not recommend. read more

They're very nice people but nice isn't going to keep my teeth clean and healthy. I have never sat in an office this long for a filling as I did the last time I was at her office. An appointment takes way longer than it should and the organization feels like madness. I used to go here before I knew better and now that I go to a place with organization I know everywhere this office went wrong. First, I tell her that I need a root canal and she says "Oh I can fill it." and just like I knew it would the filling fell out and because she doesn't do root canals I still had to pay for said filling. And then her billing office accidentally had a glitch that is beyond description. My mother isn't too happy with her either because something sketchy seems to be going on with her pushing everyone to do some sleep apnea study that charges your insurance. Terrible Dentistry from Nancy, while she is full of energy and willing to help anybody she is not the best of a dentist!!! Especially after having been in the Army studying dentistry graduating third at the top of her class! she has been a dentist for 31 years and I think she's lost her sense of knowledge and professionalism in her business. She is very un-organized very unprofessional and only compassionate to people she wants to be compassionate to. Patients are definitely not her 1st. Priority!! She doesn't care that the patient has an appointment time and they wait out in the lobby for at least an hour then they go into the operatory and they wait sometimes 2 - 3 hours!! She forces treatments and sleep studies on patients that tell her they do not want any additional services she argues and she fights and gets mad if you tell her you do not want her services. She does not take I only want taken care of what I came to your office for! The waiting time is ridiculous sometimes two hours plus she will have three rooms full of patients that are ready for her services and she will go sit in the back room and hold meetings, eat, etc., and do training with the employees knowing she has three rooms full of patients. Out in the waiting area (let alone her having told myself that nothing out there is sanitized why sanitize in the operatory?) What a horrible statement to make! I agree with all of the one star ratings as they are all very true to the point!! Myself as one of her patients I wish I would've never started any dental work with her because I have a mouth full of unprofessional work every single tooth she has worked on is rough feels like sandpaper, she says rough is ok, (not for me it isn't) When I rub my tongue along my teeth nothing has been polished. She told me my 1st. Visit that I needed an upper partial and a lower partial, I am still paying for partials that do not fit properly we have made adjustments and they still do not fit.I have additional problems due to some of her work she has performed. She coughs, she sneezes, she never washes her hands in between patients! she does not change her gown! When entering a new room for a new patient, she is always behind time with her patients because she cannot get into the practice when she is supposed to start. she is always at least one and a half hour late coming in. It's so bad that somebody has to call her in the morning and let her know when her first patient is there. it's like a child needing to be told and reminded constantly of what they have to do! She gets on the phone and yells and screams at insurance companies, lab companies, & suppliers so loud that everybody in the office and waiting room and operatories can hear her! (TOTALLY Un-professional. I am very disappointed in her as an employer and as a dentist I would not recommend anybody to go to her unless they want more problems than they already have she is a very good person but a terrible dentist. read more

I am very concerned about the billing practices of Dr. Nancy Aharon. I haven't been a patient of hers for years. All of a sudden, I receive a bill for services. When I called to inquire about the bill, I couldn't get any details. They couldn't provide a date of service or what services were performed. I was told it was a billing error because of a new system. I was told I wouldn't receive another bill. Now I get another bill. How could it be a billing error, when I haven't been patient of hers since 2014? read more

Most unprofessional dental office I have ever been in. I have to agree with the other single star reviews (I would give zero stars if it was an option.) I was looking for a new dentist as my long time one is retiring. But from the get go I had to constantly battle with Aharon's office staff and even the dentist herself over whether they accepted my United Healthcare PPO even though I brought them the direct printout from UH's provider directory clearly showing that they did. The receptionist was sullen and while I filled out the first timer forms I had to overhear Dr. Aharon first loudly berating one of the dental techs for about 10 minutes for supposed incompetence and then yelling at a vendor on the phone about some problem with a printer cartridge. Dressing down employees and business associates within earshot of coworkers and clients is incredibly unprofessional and careless, even rude. I got the same perfunctory "cleaning" as other reviewers have described, maybe a couple of minutes of polishing and under a minute of scraping in an appointment that dragged for over an hour, during much of which I was ignored and when i DID get attention it was to be subjected to endless hectoring sales pitches from Aharon to undergo sleep studies (been there, done that), have costly apnea appliances made (got one already I bought for $40 that works just fine) and to subject myself to some new wacky protocols for realigning my teeth that I stated I did not want nor need. I'm 68, have good strong teeth (all of them) and already paid over $10,000 two decades ago for orthognathic surgery to enlarge my palate and 5 years of braces to give myself a functional bite and a nice smile. The dentist rambles incessantly and doesn't listen to the patient, even going on about her own dental troubles (sorry lady, I do not care and you are not getting paid to air your own issues.) She insisted I was "missing" 4 teeth (which was ludicrous, I know I had two pulled and have all the rest) and even claimed my canines had been removed which she eventually admitted was incorrect (well, duh, you are looking right at them in my mouth). When it became clear that I was not going to bite on any of her costly "add ons" she got very patronizing. I could not wait to get out of there, though I did not confront her with my disgust because i figured the staff didn't need to be exposed to any more unpleasantness. My sense of the office was that everybody there was cowed and demoralized by the dentist's bullying personality. I was a manager in a range of businesses for most of my career and I know a toxic workplace when I see it -- also know quite well how to prevent one. I told one of my good friends about the experience only to find out that SHE had gone through a nearly identical uncomfortable appointment at Dr. Aharon's practice some years back and never returned. Wish I had known. I have to wonder if the one good review on Yelp was posted by some friend of the dentist, one who never actually had to get what passes for "treatment" in that sad office. read more

This woman is a complete whack job. Instead of doing her job as a dentist she tries to convince literally every patient that they have sleep apnea. Even after I had a sleep study that confirmed I do not have it, she still hounded me about it. Because you know those studies are often wrong. Never mind that I have no symptoms of it. She can tell by my teeth. She would make me wait 2 hours every time I was there, just because she needed to finish up with all her other patients, and I could not leave after having my cleaning until she talked to me about sleep apnea. She does this with everyone. And she's not honest about what things will cost, what insurance covers until after it's already done. I have not gone there in quite a few years, and she is emailing me every few days saying I'm in the middle of a treatment plan according to her records and need to make an appointment. First let me start out by saying that Dr. Aharon is a very polite woman with a lot of energy. My visit unfortunately did not reflect her vibe. Long wait (over 30 minutes), main waiting room and patient rooms were dirty and unorganized. My teeth cleaning was done in under 10 minutes and not done to my satisfaction. The secretary is not professional and does not follow proper phone etiquette. The dentist kept insisting on trying to sell me some at home sleep apnea test and plastic jaw device which I had to keep politely declining. The doctor also kept moving to multiple rooms to keep working several other tasks with different patients. I've never had an experience like this. I did call the office after leaving. I expressed my dissatisfaction and how the entire experience made me feel uncomfortable and the only resolution offered was to come back in so the dentist could "make it right". I don't think I'd ever go back to this dentist again. I'm upset because I only get two free teeth cleanings in a year and now one has been incredibly wasted. I am going to call my insurance and the american dental association to file a complaint as well. You picked the wrong one. I'm very disappointed! read more

I would outline this horrific experience step by step but, I do not want to relive the trauma I experienced at this office as a result of interacting with Dr. Aharon and her staff. I will outline a few of the key points. -unprofessional (bad attitudes, rude comments directly to me, overcharges, dishonest communication, dishonest billing, kept me there for hours) -unethical (learned about a billing issue prior to a procedure that they said was covered, learned that it wasn't and performed the procedure without telling me the information had changed. Also, Dentist pretended to do work she did not actually do) -unsanitary (assistant did not wear a mask and breathed directly into my mouth when putting x-ray prep in my mouth) -incompetent (poor cleaning, I couldn't even tell she cleaned my teeth in the 30 seconds where Dr. Aharon insisted she did a thorough job and when questioned she became defensive) -rude (The receptionist yelled at me, spoke down to me and hurled insults at me as Dr. Aharon stood there saying "I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it") -inappropriate (Dr. Aharon attempted to address issues outside dental issues that I did not have and that would have been none of her business and irrelevant to the teeth cleaning. As a result she burned my skin and I believe I am getting sick from when she coughed over me during a dental procedure). Finally, neither Dr. Aharon or her staff showed any remorse for each of many disastrous steps along the way where most professionals would have been apologetic and offered compensation; they seemed to be completely unaware of the chaos they called a dentist office/dental team. read more

The staff was very friendly however the service was extremely disappointing. Someone flossed my teeth, but didn't floss every one and left the room without letting me rinse and spit! Stay Away! I signed up for the Groupon with this dentist. There was no "cleaning" per se, I simply waited in a chair for two hours while I listened to the dentist arguing with another patient. They did, however, do the x-rays and instructed me on how to "brush and floss" (thanks, but if no one had ever told me that by the age of 29, I would have had far worse issues). Against my better judgement, I allowed the dentist to fill a few cavities at a future appointment. Worst decision ever! I diligently signed up for dental insurance in the meantime, knowing fillings would be too expensive for me without coverage. The health plan said each filling would cost between 20-50$. I left Dr. Aharon's office with a bill for over 600$! I protested, as she had never consulted me on the price, and she offered them for 300$. She casually stated "oh, the fillings would have been free with your coverage, but I don't do that kind of filling." She told me this AFTER she had done the fillings, though! What was I to do? Worst experience for a dentist.! Me and my boyfriend got Groupon tickets to get our teeth cleaned and X-rays done. Took around 2 hours to even be seen. My boyfriend ended up having to reschedule because we didn't want to waste sitting there for another 2 hours for him to be seen. The X-rays they did was only bite wings not your whole mouth. Then while sitting and waiting and waiting she comes in with her granddaughter and says I'm soooo sorry my daughter is in from Texas and this is the second time I have ever met her. Then walks back out and says I will be right with you. As I hear her consistently playing with the baby. As I am still sitting there waiting and waiting finally she came in and started to if you wanna call it clean my teeth. She the dentist was informed if you wanna say the faucet was leaking/broken so they moved me to another room while I still had tooth paste in my mouth and spit. Then moved to the next room and was seen kinda quick but she didn't even clean my teeth, did a couple scraps on my teeth where I had the most plac and said ok your good to go. Said a few things and didn't even rinse my mouth out with water. I don't mind going to the dentist at all but I will not be going back to this one again. Yes I only paid about $30 for the groupon but I atleast thought I was going to get more done and treated a lot better. The place could of been ran a lot better and more professional. CRAZY TOWN dentist!!! Groupon cleaning/exam was worthless. The polisher was used first for less than 60 seconds (yes, I counted) and the ultrasonic water tool was used next for maybe 2 min if I am being generous. I got 2 bite wings xrays only. There was no scraping off tartar, there was no measurement of gum recession, there was no examining each tooth, there was no flossing, there was no examination of my 2 bridges, she didn't want to see my bite guard. Instead the dentist was heard before the appointment instructing receptionists to give patients a hard time on the phone if they wanted to cancel or reschedule and there was talk of banning a patient through their insurance somehow. I was asked to fill out forms about sleep apnea. I have had 2 sleep tests and do not have apnea so I said I didnt want to fill out the screening form. Plus, I am there for my teeth, not her "side business". My entire appointment consisted of the dentist going on and on in an obsessive way about sleep apnea and her own self-diagnosis and lack of trust of professional sleep neurologists. The goal of this talk was to get me to use her diagnostic equipment and send her my past medical reports. It came off crazy-town and I lost all respect for any professional opinion she may have had (had she presented one) about actual dentistry. You're supposed to be cleaning my teeth, which I can tell was not done properly just by running my tongue over them - they are still rough. Complete waste of money. Even if the standard rate was as cheap as the Groupon, I would NEVER go back. read more

My spouse and I have been patients of Dr. Aharon for two years and have been extremely pleased with the quality dentistry and personal attention that we've received, as well as the reasonable cost. In our experience, Dr. Aharon assessed our needs, helped us to set priorities, then provided us with a treatment plan that was clear and up-front. Granted treatment plans estimate the cost that a dental plan will cover, so there was some variation, but overall they were on target. Although there were some visits that we were delayed being seen, we never considered it a problem as we felt that was due to the amount of personal attention that she gives to all of her patients. Dr. Aharon may not practice in the newest of facilities, but to me, that's simply an expression of her commitment to the community that she serves. We highly recommend Dr. Aharon for her holistic approach, and given her integrity, wouldn't consider seeing anyone else. read more
