She is friendly, as is her staff, but Dr. Leof has the atmosphere of visiting a sister for care. She takes her time to examine your mouth thoroughly. I didn't have many expectations going into my appointment, but South Hills Dental Arts far exceeded whatever they would've been. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and thorough - Nicole made the patient intake process easy and I felt comfortable telling her about my dental history and what I was looking for in my new dentist. When she did some initial scans of my teeth, she was quick and efficient. My hygienist, Jenna, was GREAT. She explained everything she was doing throughout my X-rays and cleaning in enough detail for me to understand which I really appreciated. When the dentist came in for my exam, I immediately felt comfortable with her. She carefully explained what was needed to fix a dental issue that's been bugging me and when it came time to book the associated appointment, I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to get me in the following week. A welcome change of pace from other dental offices I've reached out to in the past that never even called me back! I really enjoyed my experience here, and that says a LOT for someone who saw the same dentist for 20+ years and had yet to find someone else that compares. Sooo, I happened upon Verona Dental Care via Facebook ads, a friend liked them, and they are just down the street from my eyecare place. I will say a first time routine dental visit was 3 months out. After getting through that hurdle, a couple days before the appointment. I got a text giving me the procedures for a new patient -- xrays, 3d scan, and gum evaluation, but no cleaning at this appointment. I do wish they had said that 3 months ago... I don't have insurance; instead i have a discount plan, which they accept. I remained concerned about costs so at every turn, before appointment, during appointment, and every procedure, I made sure to keep asking about costs. Surprisingly, my final costs were extremely low. No price gouging and no unwarranted upcharges. Procedures were xrays, 3d scan, gum evaluation as stated prior to my visit. Then, my hygienist, Hannah, had time to do the cleaning after all after one other patient. I had sealant easily applied to one tooth and flouride treatment, all of which was discussed with pricing, and I accepted. I have two fillings to be reapplied on a future visit and that is all after meeting with Dr. Gupta. I was impressed by the entire staff. I met and interacted with Cally (spelling?), Kel (spelling?) and Dinah, as well, and all were professional and very pleasant. Dr. Gupta and Hannah accessed my teeth and gums appropriately with plans for future care. The technology used is first rate. Xrays were done with a handheld thingamajig with no need for the lead apron or them to step out of the room. The gum evaluation, sorry to say, is still a poke you in the gums event. That has not changed. Oh, and bonus points -- there are free water bottles in the waiting room lobby.

The practice uses AI to analyze x ray imagery and 3D imagery of teeth- everyone knows how prone AI is to hallucinations- and relies on that for diagnosis. I've had my ups and downs in office, but overall when I look at it all, this is the office for me. They do sometimes not explain billing super well. But they have payment options which is nice, and their one of the few offices that works with government insurance. There was one cruel tech, but they fired her pretty fast it seemed because she was in multiple complaints for her cruel behavior. Which made me respect the office immensely. It showed they understand the struggles people go through that lead to teeth issues. They could've probably easily told me dentures, but they didn't. They took their time fixing each tooth, they were always kind throughout, and I am so thankful for all they do and have done. I've noticed some even now with use a numbing gel and then the numbing agent which is nice. I have a high pain tolerance but still, a little less pain in this world ain't so bad! I definitely have had moments when my disorder has acted up there, but they kinda seem understanding of it. They'll give me a second when I'm anxious. They let me pause. They fight insurance for coverage. However, the prescription was never sent to my pharmacy. I tried calling the emergency number provided on my discharge paperwork over the holiday weekend, but no one answered, and my email went completely unacknowledged. When I finally reached the office on Tuesday, I was told it must have been a "mistake" and that the doctor was referring to antibiotics prescribed weeks prior. When I asked for further clarification about why the doctor explicitly told me to take them post-surgery, the receptionist just chuckled and brushed it off. I am now 9 days post-op, in severe pain radiating to my ear, and having to seek care elsewhere for a likely dry socket/infection because this office completely dismissed my concerns. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy care. Update: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT COME HERE WITH SERIOUS MATTERS IT WILL NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!
