It shows they care for their patients. Nurse Dawn took a detailed history for our daughter (who had gotten a scary read from an optometrist yesterday). Dawn made us all very comfortable as she did some initial tests. And when we saw Dr Ravage, he was efficient, but thorough, reassuring and informative. In all, he was able to put us at ease and let us know our daughter would be just fine. We are so grateful they fit us in, so we only had one night yesterday without sleep, rather than many nights otherwise waiting to get in for an appointment. So yes, you may have to wait longer to see the doctor but that's because they are taking time with each patient, just as they will take time with you. It will be a happy New Year's day for us, thanks to Dr. Ravage and his office.

Dr Zac Ravage is an excellent Retina Surgeon! From February, 2018 to July, 2018, I have been under…read morethe care of Dr. Ravage @ Illinois Retina Associates. Throughout the time he has had to perform four separate, but unrelated surgeries for retina detachments in both eyes. My eyes have finally stabilized, vision repaired and restored, and I am healing well. Without Dr. Ravage's expertise and incredible staff (Dawn, Bogdana, Noel, Christine and many others) I could have gone blind. They were quick to diagnose and treat my issues (same day) with the most up-to-date procedures which did not require hospitalization. Dr Ravage has a kind demeanor and calmly assures patients as he explains every step of the surgical procedure in detail as he treats you. I recommend Dr Zac Ravage without hesitation!

My son is looking forward to feeling like a hipster in his new Ray-Bans, and we're thrilled that we were able to utilize our VSP insurance to the fullest. Shopping for glasses at this particular location couldn't have been easier, and it really helped that we came in knowing what we were looking for. They didn't have my son's frames in stock, so they custom ordered them. Since we had to use our VSP insurance, they will go to a VSP lab before being shipped back to the store. It will be well worth the wait, because our insurance saved us a significant amount of money. We saved hundreds. And, no upselling whatsoever. I'm so glad we found this location! The office itself was very clean and Covid safe. They took our temperatures, we filled out a questionnaire, and everyone was wearing masks. We were in and out in no time at all. I'm sorry I forgot the name of the lady who helped us out, because she was amazing and took care of everything for us...including the LensCrafters hold on our VSP account (per prior review). Onsite parking lot. We'll be back for son #2...it's a twin thing!

I first met Dr. Ravage two years ago for an emergency and continue to see him regularly for Follow…read moreon. His office staff is well organized and friendly. Dawn is an excellent assistant as is Bogdana. I've never had an issue with communication. Very kind and patient. The team works together to create a calm, welcoming and soothing environment. At my first appointment, he discovered tears in my retina. He diagnosed me promptly and throughly. He then made room for me during that same appointment for an emergency procedure to repair the tears before they caused a detached retina. A hundred blasts of a laser and the problem is resolved -no issue since the repair. . As you can imagine this is nerve wracking. All through this, he was very calm and reassuring. He is very kind and patient during the stressful procedure. I like how he explains what he is doing, what the condition is, it's impact and treatment in layman's terms. I feel fully informed at all steps. I have confidence in what he tells me. I doubt I would have had the the success I enjoy with another doctor. He is humble and sees his work as a calling. He is a good man who I recommend unconditionally.

Dr. Jack Cohen was a dream come true for me when I turned to him to correct a retinal flaw in my…read moreright eye. I had previously undergone the same surgery for my left eye, done by another surgeon at another practice, and as I said to Dr. Cohen, my experience with him was like a ride in a private jet; the earlier surgery, in contrast, was more like a Greyhound bus trip. Not only is Dr. Cohen a healer in the purest sense -- a master of his craft, who also radiates care and concern for his patients -- but his entire staff shares his attitude and demeanor. Every contact with everyone in his office, pre-op and post-op, demonstrated their genuine investment in my comfort and well-being. As for the surgery, whereas my previous operation was done under general anesthetic, with the attendant post-anesthesia issues, this one was performed with no more than a local. It turns out there had been no reason to put me completely under the first time. I was thus fully conscious and able to observe the calm, self-assured manner in which he directed his assistants through an atypical procedure, due to some unforeseen anomalies in the structure of my eye. Nevertheless, he was able to completely repair and restore the vision in my right eye. Thank you Dr. Cohen! Furthermore, he and his staff bent over backwards to adapt to my rather difficult schedule, instead of insisting that I conform to theirs. Another stark contrast with my previous surgery. Consequently, after a full day, including another operation at a different hospital entirely, he willingly agreed to fit me in at 6:00 PM, and in addition, called the house at 9:30 that night to make sure I was in good shape post-op. Thank you again, Dr. Cohen; thank you to his entire staff. I'm very very grateful and appreciative. This is what medicine should be!

I was referred to Dr Epstein in 2023 for a procedure called Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL). As I was tired of my eyes being tired all the time from contacts and glasses, plus the inherent risks of wearing them at my job I pursued the surgery with Dr Epstein and Chicago Cornea. First off, I could not be happier with staff at the offices. They were professional and kind and I rarely had to wait long to be seen. Second off, Dr Epstein was great to work with. He was able to answer every question and I never felt uncomfortable. Now to answer the question about ICL. I could not be happier with the results of the surgery. Within days of the surgery I was able to see "normally", which I had not experienced since I was 8 years old. 14 months later and my eyes are 20/20. I do not experience tired or dry eyes and I do not have problems with bright lights and "haloing" as several of my friends and family experience still from LASIK and PRK. Ultimately I feel the ICL surgery is a life saver for me and my job as I need to be able to see in great detail and in any conditions without fail. If you are not a candidate for LASIK or PRK, do not hesitate to see if you are a candidate for ICL. My only regret is not finding the procedure sooner (it's been around for quite some time).
