Spicy pork & curry chicken. I always ask for some curry sauce over my rice. So good!

Nanay's is definitely in my top 5 favorite lunch spots in all of San Diego. The food is so good, & you get out of there quickly. The spicy chicken they have on Tuesdays & Thursdays is my favorite. The curry chicken & bbq chicken is also really good!

Delicious to the last bite! Good food, big portions, all smile friendly service. Spacious common area where you can enjoy the sunshine and people watching.

I go here specifically for the Sisig. Hands down the best Sisig in all of San Diego. You can quote me. This place needs to blow up because of it. I dare you to try it. If you don't like it feel free to message me.

The last time I was here was 3 years ago. I don't know but when I look at the displayed food, it kept getting worst. I don't know if the owner just leave the cooking to others. It doesn't look yummy and bbq chicken is hard, Pancit looks sad and Tortang talong looks pathetic and don't taste like it. Food is expensive but not worth it.

Quick Great service bbq chicken a lot of flavor . Perfect amount of spices. Can't wait to try another entree

I've been to Nanay's a few times but the last visit, I left underwhelmed. I enjoy the straightforward ordering process, the large portions, and the helpfulness of the staff. However, the food quality is to be improved. The meat (I got pork sisig and chicken bbq) does not seem like it's the freshest, plus I believe the meat is re-used to make different dishes. Like using leftover bbq to make sisig... The lumpia is crispy but the taste is just mediocre. We sat outside in the food court area as there is limited seating inside, making it more of a takeout spot. Don't think I'll be returning as there are other Filipino places with better quality and similar prices around!

Sausage - like a sweet Asian sausage but soft. No snap to the bite. Good.

And most of the ones I have tried does not compare to moms cooking. Because of mom's health she no longer cooks.... Husband was so kind listening to my food cravings and doing research, he found this place. First, this place is located in strip mall mostly made of food stops. Secondly and importantly, the parking is no joke! Come early and watch where you park. The parking is not plenty and the area is narrow, making it a challenge to see when pulling in or out of a parking space. When you get out of your car your sensory will be on overload on the aromas that seem to hook you by the nostrils! You walk in the restaurant and you will see the tables most likely all taken. How it works is you walk up to food counter and select what items you want. They offer different platter options. It was a lot going on up the food menu on the wall above the staff. Behind the counter it is well staffed so even though the line may be long it moves pretty quickly. Husband and I decided to go with a two item platter. My platter I choose half and half (rice and noodles) . My two items were chicken adobo and diniguan. We got an order of lumpia too. I found the chicken adobo to be pretty good! The chicken portion was pretty good. With chicken adobo there seems never to be enough of the sauce to saturate the rice. The diniguan to my surprise passed the test! It was tasty and had the right balance of flavors! I saved half to share with mom and she liked just as well. A plus for us is they serve seltzer (soda water)! They do have a self serve water station off to the side. The lumpia was good, but I probably would try one of the skewers next time. I forgot to mention that we had to ask to share a space at a table with another couple as there were no more open tables. They gladly shared. There are not outdoor seating. I would definitely visit this spot again.

We came around 11:30am, hoping for breakfast but missed it. There was a long line but it moves fairly quick. We also ordered one chicken inihaw that my husband enjoyed. Unfortunately, they ran out of the pork inihaw and had barely started grilling more. The wait time would have been much longer. The costs were around $22 including tax and a Diet Coke. There was plenty of seating but it's first come first serve. The parking lot was chaotic--no surprise there but we were able to snag a spot. Overall, this is a great turo-turo spot! I'd come back.

I saw that Lia's was going to be parked outside a coffee shop I love so I was excited for lumpia and my caffeine fix in one go. The truck was supposed to open at 11 but when we arrived at noon, they were just opening up. Obviously not ideal that they were an hour late but that meant we were 4th in line. We ordered the pork sisig and adobo lumpia and were told that it would be 20-25 minutes. Totally get that they're hand-rolled to order and that it's only one person. But if we're the 4th order, then you should have a decent idea of how long it's going to take you to prep and serve to set expectations accordingly. Over an hour later we got our food which was great - crispy and well filled. The garlic sauce was nice and punchy. The adobo was a little bland and didn't make a lot of sense with the sweet chili sauce. I think a traditional vinegar, garlic, and pepper dip would have been more true to the OG flavor. I'd rather be told it'll be an hour and then have it ready sooner if that manages to happen, but over-promising on the wait time is just a bummer. I'm not sure if I'd try Lia's again.

Both items were actually pretty salty... I've had these before and I don't remember it being this salty and heavily vinegar based. Either way. The food was pretty good. Nonetheless they were respectful and were transparent that they'd need time to open up and also to cook the dishes. Since this is in liberty station, it can get pretty loud in here. The seating is also all shared among the other restaurants so finding a table can be tough. It's also near the air strip so if you eat outside expect it to be loud from the planes flying by. Overall, pretty good for a "taste of home" Filipino dish, but my only gripes are the pricing (it's on the pricier side), the saltiness (shout out to the vinegar) and the timing (Filipino time that we all know and love lol).

The restaurant is located in a busier area with other restaurants and businesses nearby, but once you walk in, it has a really chill and welcoming vibe. They have a bunch of Filipino snacks and items displayed on the side, and the whole place feels very authentic and homey. The setup reminded me a little of places like Chipotle or Panda Express where you move down the line and choose what you want on your plate. I got plain white rice as my base, but you can also get pancit, which are glass noodles with veggies, for a small extra charge depending on the plate size. For my sides, I got the crispy pork sisig and lumpia rolls, which are thin crispy Filipino egg rolls.
