Love seeing Filipino food vendors! We were waiting for them to open up so once they did I stood there at the register. There was a guy and a girl working and neither of them even looked at me. They were definitely open already based on the time but didn't even bother to say anything at all. I waited an awkward amount of time and finally asked "are you open?" And he responded yes as if I was the one bothering them. So strange and really off-putting, kinda didn't even want to buy anything from them at that point but I knew my kids would really like the pandesal. I was hoping for sisig but didn't see any on the menu so just ended up getting the pandesal and lumpia shanghai for the kids. It kinda took a crazy amount of time just for those 2 things considering I was the first customer. I didn't even hear them call out my number or name and just happened to see it sitting on the counter. But they both came out fresh at least. The bread was really fluffy with a toasted exterior and I liked the whipped ube butter with it. The lumpia was nice and crispy but nothing super unique about the flavor or presentation. I'd round up to 3.5 for the pandesal but otherwise probably wouldn't go out of my way to return based on my first experience.

Visited the Liberty Public Market location and the service was friendly and fairly quick. We ordered the Lumpia Gulay and they didn't have enough, so they were kind enough to give us some Lumpia Shanghai free of charge. The Uber Pandesal was nice and I really liked the Ube butter spread on top. For my main I got the Lechon Kawaii which is pork belly over a bed of rice. The dipping sauce it came with added some flavor but I enjoyed the dish more without it. With the exception of one piece, most of the pork belly pieces were nicely crispy and moist. They were really nicely seasoned and very filling. The garlic rice was also a nice flavor boost to the overall dish.

Glad to find Filipino food within Liberty Station. Pros: -casual environment. You order at the cash register, pick up your order, and you can either dine inside or outdoors. -their lechon was nice and crispy -good size portions! Cons: -n/a

FUXS GIVEN = 4.0 ******************* Food = 4 I can't say it's the best Filipino food I've ever had but it's still fucking delicious. I went with the pork adobo and Shanghai lumpia UX = 3 Order at the counter style in a bigger food market. The whole market was dead but White Rice had good vibes. Service = 5 Server and chef were top notch. Great quick service.

If you want Filipino Modern/Fusion, the flavors here are pretty good. I thought prices were high for Filipino food considering San Diego has a large Filipino population/businesses. The raw onion was a bit overwhelming for me in the Sisig (and I normally love raw onions), but I liked the garlicky flavors and the perfectly cooked egg. Service was great though!

Moving to SD I was recommended a few spots, this was a common talk of the town. AMBIANCE: Parking: Liberty Station! There's parking and there's not parking. It really depends on the day, time, and if there are events but for the most part there's good street, meter, and plaza parking. Seating: It's very community space so find a standing table or eat outside and enjoy! Vibes: Liberty Station is a signature place to visit if you're in San Diego from the food, activities, or community! Whether you're in the mood to socialize, study, or dine, this is your spot. It's in a marketplace so you'll see a lot choices. The restaurant is relatively simple with your counters and screen-menu. There's some decor paying homage to Filipino culture, which feels welcoming and comforting as a Filipino. Great place for a grab and go FOOD: Sweet Pork Sausage Silog (Recommend) Delicious! Their longanisa (sweet pork sausage) was enjoyable - soft, lightly charred, mildly spiced and sweet. This is usually embraced for breakfast but appreciated all day long. The green onions gave it a good kick and the pickled veggies (atchara). The rice was well cooked - not too soft and hard with a good amount of garlic. The egg gave it a nice savory umami touch. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! I had a gift card and they had some issues but they resolved it. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Excellent! Simple choices, good prices, and a pleasant experience! As a Filipino it's timely to make these dishes so it's great they're able to make these bowls presentable and great comforting flavor. Thank you, Chef Phillip Esteban and team. I wish you all the best! #FilipinoFoodMovement TIPS: * Silog means garlic rice and egg!

First time seeing this place at the Liberty Market at Liberty Station. Perused the menu and wanted to purchase the Ube Pandesal. However they were sold out already!!! Oh well next time. I ended up just getting the Calamansi beverage!! YUMMMMMMMM I so enjoyed it!!! I will be back again in hopes to get a taste of ube pandesal.

I'm in town on vacation and was craving some god old fashion filipino food. The longganisa was cooked perfectly--I love a good sear on them! The garlic fried rice was also cooked super well with a great garlic and pepper balance. I've never made or had the longganisa topped with fried garlic and it was a game changer. The lumpia Shanghai we're also freshly fried and crispy. Perfect flavor, always balanced with the mae ploy. The service was fast and only took about ten minutes or so to cook. There was no line so it was quickly done, and they take Apple Pay which was so convenient after I forgot my wallet at home!

I miss this place. I've had this dish 4-5 times and only one of the times it was overcooked. The other times it was perfect. Crispy outer skin and juicy and tender in the inside . Ube pandesal here is also AMAZING with the Ube butter. Should've taken a pic of that too. I'll go back here fasho.

I craved for Filipino food and my husband took us here because of their Ube pandesal. Bread was freshly baked, loved the spread that came with it! Lechon kawali and lumpiang shanghai was also tasty and cripsy. The sisig lacked flavor though it's my fave dish. It taste way far from the legit sisig which is kinda understandable to.

Got lunch here in Liberty Island, San Diego. We got Spaghetti and Tocino with rice. Foods are tasty and freshly prepared. Service was decent. The place is very clean and trendy. Love the displays and atmosphere of the store. Lots of parking spaces outside.

10/10 would recommend!! It was my first time to this part of Liberty Station and as soon as I saw this Filipino restaurant, I knew this was the one!! Great selection to pick from, I went with the pork adobo bowl. Good portion sizing, not too much and not too little. The pork was cooked perfectly and was super easy to bite into. Never doubt the flavor here ever!

    Messy pork bowl missing egg
    Sharon W.

My husband and I have always enjoyed white rice. Unfortunately we had a not so great experience this past Sunday. We always get the chopped pork belly and chicken bowls. This time my husbands bowl was missing an egg and the bowl was just messy. By the time he noticed this we were already gone and I tried calling to talk to someone but I don't think this location has a phone. It's a let down for sure, especially when an extra egg is +$3 and we didn't even get the one that comes with the bowl.

The cornbeef with garlic rice, longanisa with garlic rice, and the chicken tocino with garlic rice was really good but I was honestly disappointed with the Lumpiang Shang-hai. The place is called lumpia factory but the lumpia wasn't good at all. The texture was mushy on the inside and none of us really even ate it anymore after trying a couple of bites and ended up wasting it. The pork adobo was also wasted because it was honestly TOO SWEET for our liking. It wasn't a good flavor and tasted also like they used liver in the sauce which we personally didn't like. Everything else was good. We enjoyed the music and the vibe while we were in there tho. We would come back but not for the adobo and lumpia but for sure for the WINGS.

And most of the ones I have tried does not compare to moms cooking. Because of mom's health she no longer cooks.... Husband was so kind listening to my food cravings and doing research, he found this place. First, this place is located in strip mall mostly made of food stops. Secondly and importantly, the parking is no joke! Come early and watch where you park. The parking is not plenty and the area is narrow, making it a challenge to see when pulling in or out of a parking space. When you get out of your car your sensory will be on overload on the aromas that seem to hook you by the nostrils! You walk in the restaurant and you will see the tables most likely all taken. How it works is you walk up to food counter and select what items you want. They offer different platter options. It was a lot going on up the food menu on the wall above the staff. Behind the counter it is well staffed so even though the line may be long it moves pretty quickly. Husband and I decided to go with a two item platter. My platter I choose half and half (rice and noodles) . My two items were chicken adobo and diniguan. We got an order of lumpia too. I found the chicken adobo to be pretty good! The chicken portion was pretty good. With chicken adobo there seems never to be enough of the sauce to saturate the rice. The diniguan to my surprise passed the test! It was tasty and had the right balance of flavors! I saved half to share with mom and she liked just as well. A plus for us is they serve seltzer (soda water)! They do have a self serve water station off to the side. The lumpia was good, but I probably would try one of the skewers next time. I forgot to mention that we had to ask to share a space at a table with another couple as there were no more open tables. They gladly shared. There are not outdoor seating. I would definitely visit this spot again.

We ordered the pork sisig and adobo lumpia and were told that it would be 20-25 minutes. Totally get that they're hand-rolled to order and that it's only one person. But if we're the 4th order, then you should have a decent idea of how long it's going to take you to prep and serve to set expectations accordingly. Over an hour later we got our food which was great - crispy and well filled. The garlic sauce was nice and punchy. The adobo was a little bland and didn't make a lot of sense with the sweet chili sauce. I think a traditional vinegar, garlic, and pepper dip would have been more true to the OG flavor. I'd rather be told it'll be an hour and then have it ready sooner if that manages to happen, but over-promising on the wait time is just a bummer. I'm not sure if I'd try Lia's again.

The restaurant is located in a busier area with other restaurants and businesses nearby, but once you walk in, it has a really chill and welcoming vibe. They have a bunch of Filipino snacks and items displayed on the side, and the whole place feels very authentic and homey. The setup reminded me a little of places like Chipotle or Panda Express where you move down the line and choose what you want on your plate. I got plain white rice as my base, but you can also get pancit, which are glass noodles with veggies, for a small extra charge depending on the plate size. For my sides, I got the crispy pork sisig and lumpia rolls, which are thin crispy Filipino egg rolls. It's for grabbing a mixed bag of dinner plates and side dishes and desserts, then heading home to your family, where everyone is hungry, that kind of hungry where you talk with your mouth full while you eat, but no one minds, because they're doing the same thing. It's for leftovers - awesome leftovers - that taste as good as they did the first day, maybe better, planned-for leftovers that help keep the kitchen clean and the family full and happy. It's for comfort food, though I can't imagine anyone eating a piled-high meal of pancit and adobo and pinakbet, then pushing back from the table and saying, "You know, I feel really... comfortable." R&B serves all these things, and more, for all of these reasons. And maybe it's not excellent, but it's damned good, and it does the job it's meant to do.

I am from San Jose and I am always looking around on Yelp or tik tok for Filipino breakfast spots…read moreas they are my FAVORITE. I am so glad I found Luna's Lunpias. When we walked in, the staff were so friendly and went over the specials and also let us know what they didn't have for that morning. (Thankfully everything I was planning to order they had all of it)! Drinks: Calamasi Refresher The nice staff member recommended this drink and it was the perfect pairing with our breakfast. I usually stick with drinking water but this was a really good pick! 5/5 Appetizers: Pork lumpia: 5/5, of course we had to get this! Combo plates: Longsilog bowls ~ which came with garlic rice, fried egg, scoop of Mac and cheese. It was super filling and I thought it was never ending witu the amount of longsilog they gave. This dish paired well with their spice vinegar. There were literally no crumbs left. I always love supporting family owned restaurants. Filipino food is my top favorite foods. I can't wait to come back in August!

LUMPIAS: Tried both the pork and beef lumpias and while both were good, we all liked the pork ones more since they just had more of a kick to them. Perfectly fried and crispy! BREAKFAST MUSUBI: We wanted to try this and see how well the hashbrown went with the musubi. It was decent but don't think it's something I would get again. It was a bit hard to eat as the whole thing fell apart quickly so we ended up picking at it like a salad. SISIG COMBO PLATE: I was able to get half half garlic fried rice and pancit for my carbs. Nice, crispy pork belly cut into the perfect bite sized pieces. Loved the mango serrano salsa! UBE CHEESECAKE: I wanted the minis but they were out at the time, so I ended up getting the full sized one. It's still not too big so perfect for 1-2 people. Good flavor and not overly sweet! Overall, great Filipino food although pricey for what it is; I got a bit of sticker shock when my total showed up. It's also a bit out of the way, but I'd definitely return to try other menu items if I'm ever passing though the area again. Definitely just a once in a while visit for me anyways because of the cost.
