Wow! Started off with a fantastic Bloody Mary. Had I not been the driver today, I would have had several. The coffee is delicious and strong. Tasty stuff!! Fritatta with soupy is the perfect portion and comes with delicious side of greens. Spicy catchup is made by "Nana" perhaps. Delicious again!! Cacio e Pepe donuts are a YES! Tried Nanas, again... The first time I went there it took 45 on a slow night for a pizza. It was pretty much the same this time. A long wait for an overpriced slice of pizza. Though I didn't get it because I left due to a ridiculous wait for ONE slice of Pizza. One slice. Two cooks behind the counter. Four other servers.... Serving Two tables of two..... So, after waiting about 5-7 min and never even seeing a pizza or a slice go in the oven to warm up, I asked if they were already cooked. I was told sometimes, and sometimes they do them to order. Then waited another five minutes and left. Didn't even ask for my money back... Nanas-Never again. read more

Wow. I am very particular. The service and vibe were friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding. The salad was fantastic as well. Pizza has fresh ingredients and delicious sauce-the tomato is the star. We also had the calzone with short ribs. Yum! We had the fresh made donuts for dessert. A cross between donut but like a doughboy or malasadas (Portuguese doughboys). My husband did not care for his first glass of wine, and they were happy to exchange it for something else. In fact, what he had chosen was so good, my daughter ordered a glass. I am really looking forward to the next time we are able to visit this restaurant. read more

Had a wonderful breakfast here. We got here just before breakfast service ended and they allowed us to order from the breakfast menu which I was very appreciative of. I had the seacoast mushroom toast which came with whipped ricotta and an egg. It was very filling and the tastes melded together perfectly. The drip coffee was very good as well. Will definitely be back for lunch/dinner service to try some other menu items. The seating area is smaller but it makes the atmosphere so cozy which I loved. read more

Nana's Westerly is a bit different from Nana's Mystic. I would classify Westerly as a restaurant with a full liquor license and patio dining. Nana's Mystic is a takeout pizza place, bakery with some outdoor seating. There is also more of a selection on the menu in Westerly. That said they both have pizza that I consider one of the best in the area. Last night was not a pizza night for us so we got to explore a bit more of the menu. We ordered two appetizers and decided to wait to see if we needed to order more. We ordered were the preserved fish, chunks of tuna sliced thicker than carpaccio but thinner than sashimi served with an ailloli and toast points. The other was the squid a la plancha, squid and chorizo in a spicy sauce. Both were superb but it was a bit off putting when I got the bill to notice that we had been charged for the extra slice of toast we requested to sop up the delicious sauce. When we saw that the appetizers were not going to make a meal, we ordered a burger to split between us to round out the meal. The burger was billed as an elote burger. It was a great burger but somehow I missed the elote part. Too subtle for me? Nana's is a great choice and depending on your whim for the evening either would work well. I'm lucky. Pepperoni pizza ok by far the best pizza in westerly and the area. The dough is just a amazing. Light airy and crispy. Pizza holds it own when lifted and cooked to perfection. Clearly someone spent a lot of time and expertise developing this dough recipe and let me tell you it paid off. Just great. Just went to Nana's for the first time for breakfast. The place is adorable,but... The music was so loud it hurt my ear drums. It was like I was in a night club, not a breakfast restaurant. I asked the waitress if she could turn it down. She did. But it was still too loud. I hesitantly asked again and she turned it down quite a bit. I felt a little awkward asking twice, but we couldn't have a conversation at our table without yelling. The coffee was great. The food was also good but it would have been nice to see a few more items on the breakfast menu like Fruit or oatmeal. If you're looking for a cup of coffee and a bagel, it's fine. But a relaxing breakfast, this place is not for you. read more

This was our first time having dinner at Nana's, and our experience was wonderful! The atmosphere is trendy but casual, and we we happy that we could get one of their outdoor patio tables because it was a beautiful day. The food was spectacular. I had an amazing steak frites plate, and our table also has 2 pizzas. We have a 2 year old with several food sensitivities, and they were so accommodating and even went out of their way to prepare a meal for him that avoided cross-contamination. This was so very much appreciated as we usually struggle to find something for him if we eat out! Oh, and the drinks were great too! Will definitely be back. read more

Nana's is pretty new in westerly, and as a foodie, I like to try all the new things. I wondered in on my lunch break yesterday and was greeted by a really nice feminine presenting person who showed me the menu and was really accommodating to my time as I only had a short break. They offered me a seat and honestly, the atmosphere alone was amazing. I got a white pizza slice and a kombucha and it was amazing! Fast forward to this morning, I decided I would try their breakfast. I got the sourdough French toast and the farm egg sandwich as well as a cold brew. Needless to say, jaw dropped. Phenomenal!! I'm sorry to say that we did not enjoy this restaurant. One of our pizzas was so greasy we couldn't eat it. The other lacked in flavor and hardly had any pepperoni on it. We almost wondered if they ran out?! In our many years of marriage my husband has never ever left a piece of pizza behind. In this case we left the entire pizza less one slice! We also had the Parmesan cheese rinds and they were basically inedible. Additionally, we had a salad that was just okay. Way too much cheese. I had to remind the waitress that I had ordered it. Speaking of our waitress, we felt the service was lacking. My husband and I have both worked in the service industry and we were shocked at how dismissive and unenthusiastic our waitress was. We felt that we were a bother to her and felt like she couldn't wait for us to leave. We did however notice regulars being greeted differently than we were. On our way out a different waitress was responding to an elderly woman asking for ginger beer and we were appalled by how she responded to her. Honestly, I would give any local plane a second chance but the service was so disappointing that we will not be back and do not recommend this restaurant read more

Stopped in for a couple slices. They were huge square cut delicious pieces of pizza made on an artisan dough. The sauce, cheese and toppings were all of a very high quality. I will definitely be stopping in again. read more

We got the sautéed mussels in a tomato sauce and they were quite delicious (although the dish description mentioned capers and we came across only a single one in our dish). We wanted the wild mushroom pizza, but they had already run out by 7:15, so we went with the Rhode Island -- interesting pizza, good crust, but more of a buy once try once pizza for me. The food is excellent, particularly the fish dishes. I had a fluke dish that was amazingly delicious. Friends had mussels, fantastic. And another had the bolognese (sp?) pizza, yum. The service is not the quickest, but we were there to enjoy the food and one another so we didn't mind. I wouldn't go there if I were in a hurry, but otherwise, it's top 10.
