While I am very excited that we now have an Indian restaurant in Pullman, I am a bit disappointed with the service that we received while dining in, last week. The restaurant host (and possibly manager?) was fairly rude to us right from the start. We were able to be seated quickly, which was nice, but he was barking orders and seemed frustrated when he told us to "follow him" and we were confused as to who he meant, given that there were several servers nearby who he could have been referring to. When ordering, I asked if it would be possible to substitute the rice for naan, acknowledging that I understand if an upcharge is necessary for this request. I also indicated that my request is because I have a severe rice allergy (I can be in the vicinity of rice without issue but I will have a reaction to consuming any food that has come in contact with rice). The server was nice about my request and checked with the manager to see if they could do that, but he stated that no substitutions can be made under any circumstances, including food allergy. I was a bit surprised by this, as their menu is very clearly labeled for common allergies and dietary preferences, so I was hoping that they would be accommodating with something like this. I then asked if it would be possible for them to simply not serve me the rice that comes with my meal and I will add a side of naan but he refused and stated that I would receive my meal with rice and I do not have to eat it if I don't want. Luckily it was in a separate bowl so I was able to set it aside, but nonetheless I did not appreciate the unkindness of the interaction. The food itself, while a touch pricey, was really lovely. In our party, we had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken (both of which were so very tasty, and appropriately spiced). The cocktails that we had were also great. Despite the experience we had, I will still be supporting this business in the future (though likely in the form of takeout, to avoid the possibility of a repeat occurrence). I know that they are just getting settled as a business so the kitchen may be a bit hectic but I hope that in the future, they are willing to offer substitutions (at least to accommodate allergies/dietary restrictions, even if an upcharge is necessary). Also, I hope that they get that grumpy manager/host in check so that he does not scare away any other customers who would are just looking to have a nice dining experience. read more

I remember coming to this location a couple years ago when I visited my son in college. It was a different restaurant then. I thought to myself that I loved the vibe of the place, but not the food. Then I came last year again, and I was disappointed to find out the place closed down. To my surprise on this visit I found out that the new place has opened! Same awesome vibe of a restaurant opened in a historical foundry building, but with amazing Indian food! Love the vibe, love the food, love the service. Highly recommend. read more

I went on a Saturday at around 7 pm so it wasn't too busy. I have never been here before so I was exited so try new Indian food in the area. I decided to try a Mango Lassi, because I typically love them. When I received it, it was barely cold at all, practically lukewarm. Lassis should be very cold in my opinion, like a smoothie. I'm pretty sure they had a pre made jug but in a fridge not super cold. It being warm made it extremely unappetizing which I ended up not finishing. I decided to try the basics, Tikka Masala and Butter chicken as well as a side of garlic naan. The Garlic Naan came out first and let me say I am extremely disappointed in the "garlic" naan. It was an extra $1 to add garlic, but when I received it there was no fresh garlic like advertised! It was only garlic powder. Why should anybody pay for $1 more just for a sprinkle of garlic powder? I tried the butter chicken and Tikka Masala and it was good but honestly lacking flavor. I have tried Indian food from around and the seasoning isn't really there. The spice was okay but there wasn't as much flavor as I would like. I also was disappointed in the service. When ordering the main dishes, I asked if the chicken was white meat or dark meat, she told me "I don't know" and stood there without saying anything else. I wish she could have gone back and asked, as it was a simple question that could be easily answered. We were also hardly checked on, which was disappointing. Overall my experience wasn't the best. Honestly really disappointed in this place. We came with a group of 8 people, seating was rather quick because it wasn't super crowded. The prices are pretty expensive; $18+ for a small dish of food. It comes with "complimentary" rice, but this is genuinely the first Indian restaurant that I've been to that you have to pay for naan. I got the goat vindaloo with level 4 spicy. It was okay - needed more seasoning and was not spicy whatsoever. The waiter came over and asked if people wanted more rice and about six people accepted, which we later found out was NOT free when we all got our checks. Visited Namaste for lunch with a friend. The restaurant was welcoming and clean. We split the Nirvana dish, asked for 3 stars of heat and there wasn't any detectable heat. The flavors were very good and presentation good. We had garlic naan which was very tasty, fresh and hot. The shrimp Pakora was just ok, tasted like a frozen product reheated. The best part of the visit was the Old Fashioned and a guava cocktail that were phenomenal. This place has the potential to be a perfect dining experience, they are new and in time should be successful. I'm definitely going back! Give them a chance. read more

This is the first time I have been to Namaste, and it certainty won't be the last. Everything about my experience was phenomenal, the food, the service, the environment, the wait time, everything! I shared some buttered chicken, and tikka masala with some garlic naan bread, and I got a mango lassi. I would highly recommend going here if you enjoy indian cuisine, and if you've never had indian. 11/10 read more
