Went there for an acrylic fill-in as my usual salon (Soho Nails) is not open on Sundays and this day was my only option for a while. I looked them up on Yelp first and was not impressed by the reviews I found but thought I would give them a try anyway. If it were possible to give zero stars I would. My tech (Paul) was horrible. Did not put down a towel and the table top was riddled with dried up glue / product. Used clippers to take down the length (which he could've done with a couple swipes of the dremel as I only wanted them shortened a slight amount. Needless to say the first three nails he did cracked and I actually had to ask him to not continue to use the clippers. He ended up having to make them much shorter that I wanted because of the damage the cracking caused. He had a band-aid on one of his finger tips that kept coming off. I insisted (three times) he put on a fresh band-aid that would stick better, which he finally did. When he filed my nails to shape them he filed front to back and back to front, instead of side to side. Damaging to the nails and also quite painful. I told him I did not want my nails painted because I had a color at home I wanted to use and he said he would just put on a coat of clear base, which actually turned out to be clear gel polish. My daughter got a manicure to fill the time while I got my fill-in. Her tech (sorry, no name) was rude, rushed and tried to up-sell her to gel polish at least five times. Not a good experience. I've had really good experiences at Nailtique, especially recently. So, when I saw the two negative reviews on here, I thought I better post something. It is true that some of the nail technicians are better than others. But overall, they do a great job. I usually get a mani and pedi with regular OPI polish. This past week I got a shellac and it is fabulous. My nails look fantastic. And they have a huge selection of colors, which is really nice. read more

The pedicure was good, but the hygiene left something to be desired. I did notice that the guy doing my pedi would place instruments on the floor when he wasn't using them, and then pick them up and use them again. This seems like a very unsanitary practice. I also didn't see the tubs being disinfected, only rinsed out. Other than those things, the pedicure itself felt great! The guy did massage my calves a little bit too hard with his thumbs, but he softened when I told him that it hurt. Overall, other than the hygiene issues, the experience was good. read more

I have been a loyal customer since I moved to Bloomington 4 years ago. I came in for a manicure today and it was A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I am actually appalled. My acrylics were to be removed. So I sat with my hands soaking in acetone for almost an hour while the man doing my nails started working on other people. I then asked for just a polish manicure. My hands were completely dried out, melted off glue was stuck all over my hands from them soaking in the acetone for an hour, and he didn't do ANY moisturizers or even get all the gunk off my hands. They're all cracked and disgusting. Then he handed me off to another employee who did a terrible job on my paint. She said to me "you need a manicure" as in getting my cuticles cut back and dry skin cut from around the nail beds but when I said "ok I would like that" she informed me she didn't have time. Ugh. Actually if I could give zero stars I would. My friends and I went here the other night because it was the only salon open later than 7PM, and we will never be back. Walking in you could immediately tell how disorganized and unsanitary it was. There was no communication with the customer, and I was never once asked what I wanted done. After a long wait, a woman pointed to where I should sit. A few minutes before, I was watching another customer use the same pedicure tub they sat me at and they filled it right back up without cleaning it and sat me there. As a daughter of a salon owner, I was very observant on all of the violations of sanitary code here. Using the same gloves she had used for several other people prior, and pulling clippers from a box of nail tools that clearly had been used on several customers and never cleaned, the woman clipped my toenails so short and messy then proceeded to dig aggressively into my cuticles to the point where one was bleeding and I had to tell her to stop. She then became incredibly annoyed and pulled out the nail polish and messily painted one coat of polish and said she was done. Lastly, while I was sitting waiting for them to dry she came up to me again and asked me to pay. She persistently asked me to pay in cash when I told her I only had a card. She grudgingly took the card and told me she had to add the tip on herself, and that I couldn't do it, and was very mad when I did not want to tip the full 20%. I won't even go on more, but basically all things aside I would actually never step foot in that salon due to the multitude of sanitary issues that are very dangerous and are not to be messed with. The only reason I go here sometimes is because it stays open later than other places and I work nights. But every time I come here I have a bad experience. The nail techs are usually rude. Or they ask what you want when you come in and then you'll tell them, and they won't say anything else like 'you can have a seat' or 'pick your color'... They just ignore you. I've had them help other people who came in after me (without an appointment) before me. And the last time I went there they made me wait about 40 minutes to get my nails done, then the guy rushed through it so quickly to get me out of there since it was closing. I'm an easy customer to deal with, I don't ask for any fancy nail designs, and I always tip well. I think they just treat all of their customers like shit. read more

We had gone here before to get our pedicures done. And at that time they did a great job. This last time we went to the lady barely massaged my feet. I don't even think I would call it a massage. She was more interested in watching the soccer game on TV they giving two farts about us! There were three of us and only one of us got the attention that we should have gotten. And she is a 8 y/o. I have been going to Nailtique for years and haven't had a bad experience yet. They do excellent work and the price is good. I also agree with the post about them 'not chatting you up.' They concentrate on their work and I relax. My sisters-in-law love this place! I've never had a long wait. I get acrylic nails and love them. One of my sisters-in-law had a manicure and was extremely pleased. Even tho her nails were rather short, she wanted a French manicure. The tech did it and her nails looked awesome! I went to Nailtique for my 25th anniversary trip (2006). Some of the technicians at that time did not do as I had asked, but I went back and it was made right by Kelly and Kevin (the owners). I have gone to Nailtique since that time. I have always been treated great and have recommended them to several people. I've been several times, only have gotten pedicures. It's convenient in the sense that you can usually walk in and be seen immediately. However, the reason for that seems to be the not great service. I've gotten I think the only guy who works there twice and both times he rushed through my pedicure. My friend who sat beside me started before and finished after me. He also just went ahead and removed my calluses without asking and charged extra. He also asked which scent I wanted and I said one and he put a different one in by mistake and the woman working on my friend pointed it out and he said oh its OK she likes this one too, right? I did not appreciate that at all. Also, their sign, which is an erasable sign not a printed one, had the wrong prices on it. When I asked about that she said oh that's old. Then update it! You literally just have to wipe it off and rewrite it! I do not recommend this place to anyone. The pedicure looks fine but the service is awful. Have never gotten a manicure there, but the other reviews don't sound like it's good. read more

I went here for a long time for pedis and eyebrow waxes. The last two times I went, the same lady did my eyebrows and my pedi. She completely cut off a corner of my eyebrow, and when I politely asked her about it, she cut me off and said, "No". It was rude. The next time I went in for a pedi (will never go for a wax again), I had the same lady, unfortunately. She got up and down about 10 times during the pedicure talking to people and maybe a family member? She again spoke rudely to me when I accidentally took my foot out of the water too early because I couldn't hear her. The pedicure was fine. The customer service was poor. Came in for the literally uncountable time this year I am a regular customer knew most of the women that worked there, I am a caregiver, and my sibling and her fiance live with me as well. At that time I am sitting there with my roommate, my sisters fiance, as we are awaiting the women to finish her pedicure on my sister, I had gotten one a week before Christmas. This women that was Vietnamese last time I had been there told me her name was "Dani." I usually spend a lot of money in places like this and was very disrespected by this women, as I approached her with a waive and asked if she had a good holiday season. She replied, "How far along are you," as though I was pregnant. Now thinking maybe I am just fat for a second I replied, "I am not pregnant." Then I left and decided in that very moment I was never going back due to the amount of rudeness that takes to even ask someone that, I don't know who raised her but she apparently grew up without any manners none the less, you do not bite the hand that feeds you. So I completely do not understand that treatment. Also this happened on New Years eve so what the hell lady are you just flat out trying to be rude its a holiday and you can't be nice!!! I've been here twice since moving to Bloomington. The first time I went was fine, the woman who did my nails was friendly and did a great job. However, coming here for a second time felt like I had stepped into a completely different nail salon. I went in to get my no chip polish taken off and replaced with a regular nail polish. Upon telling them I just wanted the regular polish, and didn't want to pay the extra $10 for another no chip, the man who did my nails seemed extremely annoyed and unwilling to do a good job on my nails. Ordinarily, when I get no chip removed they will soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover and press it against my nails with tin foil before scraping off the polish gently, to ensure protection of my nails. The man who worked on my nails did none of these steps but instead picked and pulled at my polish with his own nails, basically ruining my nails. When he couldn't get the polish off with his own nails he used a pair of pliers to pull even harder at the nail polish, removing the top layer of my nail in the process. I'm not one to complain about different ways people do things, but I know for a fact this can't be good for my nails. He did a semi decent job with the polish, but since going in my nails have been chipping and even starting to peel off a bit. I understand that the price is cheaper here and I'm a poor college student, but I'm still a customer and shouldn't be paying for my nails to be ruined- I could have done that by tearing off the nail polish at home by myself. If you're looking for a cheap place to get a normal manicure I'd say go for it, but I wouldn't recommend at all for acrylics or no chip read more

This place is so unsanitary. The guy pulled out a nail file with cuticles all over it and simply brushed it off before attempting to do mine. The place is disgusting and has to be violating health codes. Beyond that, he did a horrible job. He gave me the wrong color, got shellac gel all over my skin and didn't even get it on my whole nail. It looks like a child did them. He didn't wait for them to dry so they are bumpy. It's the worst shellac manicure I've ever had. My nails are gross and filed sideways. I have been to this salon before and it has been average but I will not ever go back after my last experience. The guy who did my fill in was very rude and even rolled his eyes at me when I asked him to touch up the white tips of my French set. He did not listen to me at all when I told him what I wanted. He used old nail clippers to cut down my nails and the end result is truly frustrating. It's not with wasting your money or your time. read more

I am from Bloomington, IN and over the years I have been to numerous nail salons. Nailtique continuously surpasses them all. They are always fully staffed, they greet you shortly after you walk in, they have the largest color selection in Bloomington and they are the fastest I've ever experienced!. They have several employees that have been there for years and it is so nice to see familiar faces each time. The owners work 12 + hours a day on a consistent basis which never ceases to impress me. I cannot tell you enough how much I LOVE NAILTIQUE. They have a customer for life in me, for sure! read more

This place sucks! My lady was so rude she treated me like I was dumb! She yelled at me for not washing my hands correctly, not drying them right, and for asking her to soak off my gel nails! I hate spending so much money on nails when the person doing them acts like she would rather be any place else! The mani/pedi was expensive, and sloppy. read more
