This is a nice and clean place that does not smell like nail polish. I like that OPI products are used. There are lots of beautiful color options to select from, which is a plus! I was impressed with how my gel manicure turned out. Helen did a wonderful job and was super fast. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she relocated it with ease. I was probably in and out in less than 10 minutes. They take credit cards, which is convenient. read more

First time customer. The salon was clean. Meticulous!!! Helen performed a miracle on my nails. She was very nice and professional. She was also honest. My nails were bitten down to the quick and she made expert suggestion on what I should get done and it fit in my budget. I will definitely be going back. read more

The nails turned out nice and she was quick. But this lady was SO RUDE! as soon as I walked in she looked at me like I was a major inconvenience. She moved my hand and arm around in a mean and irritable way. Scratched me with the nail file and blamed me! Lol. She spoke to me like I was an idiot, using one word or gesturing when she wanted me to do something. Barely made eye contacted. Talked about her other customer calling her "f'n stupid". Complained about my nails the whole time. And I just went for a fill! I didn't need all that. She was aggressive. I know times are super hard but I work in customer service too and I keep my professionalism. I will NOT be supporting her business again. I am so stressed out from my job. The last thing I need is someone treating me like trash just for showing up. Anyway, I'm glad it's over. Lol read more

Really nice salon. Their massage chairs are very interesting . Overall great service, this place was very clean and they did an amazing job on my busted little feet. Overall, this felt like a very strange experience to me. I was visiting Sacramento for a conference and wanted to get a pedicure at the end of a long week. This place was near my hotel and seemed to have relatively decent reviews. However, my experience was only mediocre. The owner (I believe her name is Helen) was far from customer service friendly from the moment I walked in the day before, until my pedicure was finished about 24 hours later. She never once smiled, nor really looked me in the face. I had booked an appointment for 5pm, but Helen was running late and seemed to have double-booked herself (in fact, there seemed to be far more customers than people available to do the work). I was finally seen at around 5:15pm (this isn't uncommon for salon services to run late, I know). My pedicure took a total of about 20 minutes (if that) and felt more like an express pedi. This is not what I was expecting and was very disappointed. Helen didn't talk to me at all during the process, but instead answered the phone as she was working on my feet. It felt very impersonal. At the time, it did appear Helen was doing a great job of cutting out a small ingrown toenail I had on one of my big toes. However, that toe is still sore a few days later and appears to be oozing a little. I don't know how sanitary the tools are that she used... The final clinch was when I went to pay by credit card, based on the sign near the cash register that showed Visa, MasterCard etc -- only to discover Helen was not taking credit cards at that time. I only had a credit card with me, and was left for about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to pay her. In the end I had to use a friend's Venmo account, which didn't feel right and was quite frustrating. I would not return and would definitely try somewhere else next time. read more

This place is very clean and all the instruments are sanitized. Helen who is very confident and creative in her work had just to be shown a picture of what I wanted and she was bang on with her nail artistry by picking relevant colors to get me the tiger/animal artwork that I had asked for. She also gave me a very soothing pedicure and was a charm to have a conversation with. It was my first time and I'm coming back to this place with my friends :) read more

I'm visiting Sac for a day and had to get my nails done so I tried this place. The lady who did my nails were very quick (usually it takes one hour to do fill acrylic nails but she did it in 30 mins), but very unfriendly. After she finished doing my nails, one of my nail was already messed up so I had to ask her to fix it while I was there. And this is what happened in few hours! (All I did was to eat and take shower) I'm leaving tomorrow morning so I can't go back and get it done. I wish she took time and actually did what I paid $40 for. Now I have to go get my nails fixed once I get back home. I don't recommend to go to this place. read more

So today was my first day at this Salon. I don't get my nails done often, but I had them done a few weeks ago for my wedding and I wanted to keep up the feeling of being a little more upscale with my look (I'm generally super low maintenance and very cheap!) I chose this salon because they had 4 stars and were walking distance from my job. I called the salon to see if they had appts for 5:30pm. At first the lady on the phone sounded a little rude, but she gave me an option to come in at 5pm or 6pm. I chose 6pm. I walked in and she ask "what would you like today" and I I told her I was the one who called. There was her (Helen) and another technician named Ruby. Helen was finishing up a manicure, ruby was doing a pedicure, and there was a woman in the massage chair waiting for another pedicure. Waiting was actually enjoyable because they were playing great music, the temperature was perfect, and I got to talking with another lady who had just walked in and was waiting for service. They did a great job keeping track of who was there first (they lady that was there before me got her pedicure as soon Helen was done with the other customer's manicure). I was seen after the manicure, at about 6:10pm. Helen was amazing. She was so sweet, informative, and extremely detailed, but also very quick! I already had tips on, but she was very honest and upfront with her concern that the natural look I wanted would not look good over the tips I already had (done at a different salon). She took of my old nails so quick and smooth and applied the new ones quickly too. She ask for my liking many times throughout and politely offered her opinions/expertise too. She also waxed my my chin and upper lip quickly, painlessly, and went over with tweezers to make sure she got all the strays. I was out of the salon at 7pm, but I actually had a really good time talking with Helen. I didn't talk to Ruby too much, but she seemed really nice as well with the small amount that we did speak. I couldn't bare going another day without an overlay since I almost snapped my pinkie fingernail putting on pants and my nails were finally at a length I loved. I didn't want to cheat on my usually nail lady (sorry mai) but I needed it done ASAP. I yelped nearby nail shops next to work and found one a block away. Called ahead to see if I could walk in and she was able to take me right away. I'm pretty sure it was the owner, Helen who helped me. She was very quick and friendly. I went during my lunch break and was in and out within less than an hour. The color, the thickness and the shape was exactly what I wanted. Definitely recommend! read more

Had dinner around the corner from here, & as I walked back to my car I recalled I needed a fill-in. That's when how I found/saw this nail shop. *Helen, the owner was there & she took me in even though they were about to close. You know how life-saving that can feel too! I was initially there for a fill-in, acrylic square shape but she suggested coffin shape as according to her, it would like great on me (style of nail & fingers). I had never done coffin shape until I came here. WOW! Very impressed. She sure knew what she was doing. Having owned this salon for 15 years--she is very much a qualified expert! She also picked the PERFECT nail polish color for me & I could not be more pleased. Her work ethic transpired as we chatted, she mentioned she only takes appointments. She has a solid amount of regular clients, & very few staff. So, I suggest you book her ahead of time. I just got lucky--walking in. The salon was very clean & although she was quick, she was thorough. I was beyond pleased leaving her salon, & you BET I will be returning. Not only did she take me out of my comfort zone by shaping my nails in coffin shape (something new & great looking) but she also picked the EXACT color I didn't know I wanted. I came here with a group of four girls several weeks ago and we were all a bit surprised at the floridly positive reviews that Nails Galore gets. First, props to the establishment for fitting in four girls on a reservation - we called in the morning and they gave us an appointment the same day for the afternoon, which I appreciated. However, once we got there, it was sadly all sub-par for all of us. Despite the appointment, they took us all at different times - so rather than starting/ending at around the same time, we were being done in staggered and slightly-piecemeal fashion. This led to us having a lot of waiting time both when we got there and as they were finishing up with the last of us, and we were there for far longer than we expected to be. I guess I can understand if you're short staffed, but then don't commit to an appointment for four if you don't have the manpower. One of my friends just sat with her feet in lukewarm water for about 15-20 minutes until her pedicure started. My manicure was incredibly weird - no pre-cuticle softening, just starting right off the bat with removing and peeling off my dry and cracked cuticles, which surprised me. The manicurist then attacked my nails with an odd way of filing the actual surface of the nails. So odd, that when I took my paint off a week or so later, my nails were left with visible scratches, almost like someone had taken sandpaper to my nails. The hand massage portion was quite apathetic and lackluster; I felt the poor girl was about to fall asleep during the job. Additionally, my manicure started chipping immediately the next morning, and she did not paint up to the cuticle - so even with a fresh manicure it looked like my nails had already grown out. Prices are reasonable, yes, but in my experience it is sub-quality work. Too bad. Maybe it would've been better if the four of us hadn't come in together, perhaps it was too much of a workload? Regardless, would not go back next time I'm in the area. read more

Yesterday I went in with my friend who was visiting from Philadelphia and we got pedicures. What a delightful experience! The staff was very friendly and not put off by the fact that I am 6 foot five and weighs 400 pounds, and that I wanted to have my toenails painted metallic rose gold to match my iPhone. While we were sitting in the slightly older pedicure thrones, receiving a splendid massage from the mechanical fingers, a former coworker came in and she sat in the remaining throne and we grabbed about our former boss - what a hoot! My feet feel and look fantastic, and the polish totally glints in the sun, which throws off people's gender stereotypes! Win win all the way around! read more

The establishment is very clean. There were 3 technicians on a Tuesday later afternoon (3 pm). I waited about 10 mins for a regular pedicure. The nail color selection is extensive and they carry high quality brands. The reason for not having 5 stars is because my service seemed quite rush. The end result looks great but my pedicure was finished quite quickly and I want to enjoy the time that I have to relax when receiving a pedicure. read more

The paint left around my cuticles is easily visible too. I wouldn't mind as much if these issues were on one, maybe two, toenails but it's on multiple and the pedicure looks messy overall. I was hoping this might be my go-to local nail spot but I'm disappointed by my pedicure experience.

I scheduled a visit a few days in advance for three people and four services and paid an $80 deposit ($20 per service) via Venmo. One person canceled that morning, but I was able to switch to a different service for myself that same day vs. losing my deposit. The two pedicures were fine. They were basic pedicures, and aside from the water initially being extremely hot, I was happy with the results. Because of the deposit, there was also no wait time. The head spa, however, was a completely different experience. This was my first head spa, so I was excited and expected it to be relaxing. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The massage was brief, and despite the menu stating that oils would be used, none were applied. During the double cleanse, the technician used her fingernails rather than her fingertips, which became painful. There was also an excessive amount of cleanser, and rinsing it out was difficult. The water temperature was extremely inconsistent--going from hot to ice cold--and water got into my ear. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was uncomfortable throughout the service. Afterward, my hair was not completely dry. When I asked for serum, I was told it had already been applied, and I had to explain that I wanted my hair fully dried and soft. Another staff member eventually finished drying it, and the end result was much better. The two services totaled $138, or $158 with a 15% tip. I shared all of this feedback with the front desk before leaving. They were receptive and said they would provide additional training. I was also told that the technician was new to the salon and has some communication issues. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns, but based on my head-spa experience, I would not return for that service. *********************************************************** FINAL THOUGHTS Making a reservation requires a deposit, but it does give you priority if there's a wait. PRO TIP: I visited on a Saturday around noon, and it wasn't busy at all. If you're coming in solo, you can probably skip the reservation and deposit. I've had two pedicures here, and the service was totally fine. No issues at all. I also clearly saw the technicians using Barbicide to disinfect their metal tools, although I didn't pay attention to where they pulled the drill bits from. Overall, the salon is CLEAN, which I really appreciate. Personally, I wouldn't get a head spa treatment here again. I was told they're having plumbing issues because the building is old and that their plumber hasn't been able to resolve the problem. However, based on my experience, I feel some of the issues were related to the technician and not just the plumbing. That said, I'd love to hear from others who have had a head spa here. How was your experience with the water temperature? Did you have a better experience with a different technician? I'd genuinely be curious to know!

The lady who did my pedicure was very friendly while taking her time - she did a great job! They're very personable at Monet Spa which I also like - the owner remembered my name and that I'm married and have a daughter. The staff is always so grateful to see you back too! She went as far as saying the staff "gets scared" when I come in, which is not only unprofessional but completely false. Throughout the past year, I've also noticed that the staff frequently speaks in their language while looking directly at me or other clients, creating an uncomfortable environment where customers feel talked about instead of respected. This has happened every single time I've visited. To make matters worse, shortly before my service was finished, I overheard another woman complaining about her nail tech as well, proving I'm not the only customer experiencing issues. When I requested a small discount due to the disrespect I received, the salon refused. No apology, no accountability, and no professionalism. After a year of loyalty and hundreds of dollars spent, this is how I was treated. I will not be returning, and I hope management seriously reevaluates how staff communicates with customers and handles feedback.

I scheduled a visit a few days in advance for three people and four services and paid an $80 deposit ($20 per service) via Venmo. One person canceled that morning, but I was able to switch to a different service for myself that same day vs. losing my deposit. The two pedicures were fine. They were basic pedicures, and aside from the water initially being extremely hot, I was happy with the results. Because of the deposit, there was also no wait time. The head spa, however, was a completely different experience. This was my first head spa, so I was excited and expected it to be relaxing. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The massage was brief, and despite the menu stating that oils would be used, none were applied. During the double cleanse, the technician used her fingernails rather than her fingertips, which became painful. There was also an excessive amount of cleanser, and rinsing it out was difficult. The water temperature was extremely inconsistent--going from hot to ice cold--and water got into my ear. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was uncomfortable throughout the service. Afterward, my hair was not completely dry. When I asked for serum, I was told it had already been applied, and I had to explain that I wanted my hair fully dried and soft. Another staff member eventually finished drying it, and the end result was much better. The two services totaled $138, or $158 with a 15% tip. I shared all of this feedback with the front desk before leaving. They were receptive and said they would provide additional training. I was also told that the technician was new to the salon and has some communication issues. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns, but based on my head-spa experience, I would not return for that service. *********************************************************** FINAL THOUGHTS Making a reservation requires a deposit, but it does give you priority if there's a wait. PRO TIP: I visited on a Saturday around noon, and it wasn't busy at all. If you're coming in solo, you can probably skip the reservation and deposit. I've had two pedicures here, and the service was totally fine. No issues at all. I also clearly saw the technicians using Barbicide to disinfect their metal tools, although I didn't pay attention to where they pulled the drill bits from. Overall, the salon is CLEAN, which I really appreciate. Personally, I wouldn't get a head spa treatment here again. I was told they're having plumbing issues because the building is old and that their plumber hasn't been able to resolve the problem. However, based on my experience, I feel some of the issues were related to the technician and not just the plumbing. That said, I'd love to hear from others who have had a head spa here. How was your experience with the water temperature? Did you have a better experience with a different technician? I'd genuinely be curious to know!

The lady who did my pedicure was very friendly while taking her time - she did a great job! Helen is an extremely rude person. She's left my nails with bumps all over them and then she gets mad when she has to fix them and she blames it on me. She will do my nails and three days later two of the nails have already popped off. She said that she is charging me six dollars for nails that pop off three days later. She lets homeless people and druggies hang out inside of her shop. She hangs out with them and says that they're her friends. She is so rude and I've seen it with my own eyes. I don't know if she is racist but she is so rude to me and I've seen her be rude to other people of color. She gives horrible service and I do not recommend her to anyone. She has major attitude and yells at me when I ask her to fix a nail. she will do my nails and the nails will come off three days later and she says that she's charging me six dollars for each nail that comes off. How is that fair if it's only been three days? She is the rudest nail technician I've ever had in my life. She gives me dirty looks in dirty facial expressions when I'm talking to her like a normal human being. i'm always extremely nice to her but for some reason she has a problem with me and I don't know why. As you can see in my photos I had just got a fresh new set and there's lines and bumps on the surface of my nails I had to go back and she had to redo it. Was really disappointed about this place. First of all, I made an appointment at 11, called and said I was 5 min late. When I came in Helen was already working on another lady. So she told the lady to wait while I got my fill and gel. She kept trying to talk me out of the fill. After doing the fill, she rold me that another lady wa going to do the gel for me i said " but i made my appt with you" She was rushing so much that the gel was far from my cuticle. When I came from washing my hands the lady was already on my seat being helped and my purse was on the floor. She apoligized to the lady that she had to wait(as if it was her appt)I stood there for a while and finally asked how much? It's pretty cheap for how good they looked minus the gel and she was done working 40 min with everything. It's really sad though how they can treat customers and still expect a good tip. read more

I was a walk-in, and they were clearly busy but made time for my gel full set, and did my gel pedicure SAME TIME (this saves me lots of time). I explained my anxiety…read moreabout getting hurt when getting gel nails, thus I originally only wanted regular polish, but caved and got gel only for the handheld UV lamp that the tech used on me and the desk heat lamp to still hurt plenty of times. I had my previous GelX nail set removed and then just painted gel on top but my nails/fingers were left unclean, uneven, loads of extra polish left on my fingers, dry/crusty and just didn't look good or feel right. I know Maggie did her best to make me comfortable. The removal of my GelX nails went pretty smoothly. It's the application of this new gel that threw me off AND she filed after the gel polish and top coat were already cured. Why would they do that?? I know Im new to nails, but that makes zero sense. There was a bunch of debris on my nails after, lots of leftover polish residue (see photos) and I unfortunately don't think I'll come back. Another strange thing is I asked for change (fives) for a twenty so I could tip. I was given a five back. I meant return 4 fives to me. I was still tipping $15 for a removal of my gelx and chopped gel manicure ($51 total), but why did they keep her tip and not give it to her or hand me my change in full? Kind of shady. Sadly I wanted to really like this place after giving it a chance.
