My new go-to Salon is... NOT this place. I looked on Yelp of course, for something nearby and open... then I called about getting a dip manicure...then stopped in... Small, cramped, messy... pedicures in a windowless inside room... not a fan of the super high language barrier either... I decided to give it a skeptical try though... So this guy starts to grind my nails down... and has the metal head spinning super fast and is unevenly sanding my previous dip manicure... whoa dude... I'm pretty sure that head is for artificial nails, and he seems like he has no clue on how to a totally do this, the paint of coming off with circles of what looks like bare nail starting to show in spots. I stop him, and ask why he is sanding that much, it should just be enough to break the topcoat seal, the 100% acetone soak will take the rest off in 5m... he says no, it will take 30min if he doesn't sand more... wtf? Some old dude comes back while I am discussing this, and I keep asking for someone who speaks better English... he takes over, seems to understand more of what I am saying, and swaps heads on the sander to one that is an Emery board cone... yeah that's what my reg person uses Hashtag YouBiatches. So he finished the removal, then tells the one normal seeming nail tech (who just finished up this diva dude with great eyebrow game) to finish my dip mani... she seems okay... until I mention I like a squaoval shape, and as I trimmed and pre-filed beforehand, most for her to do really is to make sure the dip is squared in application by the cuticles... she nods and says she understands, then files my nails round. I tried to show her my Pinterest and squoval but she didn't want to continue at that point, and I agreed... I was trying to see if this could just be a removal... but she demanded payment for a manicure.. for trimming my cuticles... yeah, no. After a horrible nail catastrophe I found a nail salon that fixed my mess and cheaper than the first place I went to! I went to get fake nails with leopard print design, I was told that they never tried the design but wouldn't mind trying. Good answer. They are from Chicago which I feel makes them all the better. They do a fabulous job with nails, I am completely satisfied with my service. $35 dollars for gel full set with my 2 ring fingers leopard design. My nails look amazing and even! read more

They seem to be safe with COVID regulations but the lady cut my nail twice, and it's still bleeding a few days after. She made my right hand of my nails a lot longer than my left hand and when I asked if she could make them even she just filed them once and moved on. The nails don't even look bad, just wish the service was better. read more

Tina did my nails today during my lunch hour and did an amazing job. She knew I was short on time and managed to get me in and out in a hour! Mind you I had a pink and white gel fill-in done which can take up to a hour and a half to do since it's so much work. It's two times the gel so it's two times the work. The place looks awesome too. Very clean and bright. Updated and modern. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I will definitely be back. read more

I like it a lot! KC was doing my nails and I totally love her! I did mani-padi. Nails looked great. They just started to chip soon after, but I think I have had my hands in water a lot, recently (doing dishes). I paid $30 + tip. You have to tip with cash. I am thinking of getting No-Chip Mani next time and definitely asking for KC. I am not a fan of ambient though, it's small. I wish they had something on Groupon :) read more

This place is awesome. I got a pedicure and gel fill in. They did everything I asked them to do and more. I like the gels really short and most places will use the electric sander to do it and they usually burn you. But not this place. They also lotioned and messages my hand during the fill in. The only negative is this place costs a bit more than most and all the extra pampering did take it's time. read more

Went in as a walk in for a toe polish change and dip mani. First impression was how dirty this place was, but needed nails done so gave it a try and they did take me right away for the toes , which was great. The dip mani tho was absolutely horrible the man had no idea what he was doing it took forever and I had no time to complain the 40$ dip only lasted a week!! Very disappointed, I will not go back to nail design. read more

First time here.they didnt really communicate with me like they spoke in there own language alot and confused me me when they did talk to me...just came here for a quick fill in and color change since this is the closest place to my house and didnt feel like making a driving to my usual place also the place seemed small and cramped and not the most cleanest that i have done to and the polish ran over under my nail and left clumps...most likely wont return. read more

This place is great! The woman (KC, I believe?) is my 1st choice always. She remembers me each time as well as details about my life which adds a personal touch and shows that she cares about her customers. They always have me in and out reasonably quick and I rarely have to wait long. Some nail places have a so-so color selection but not this place; its quite extensive! She is also always willing to add a little design flair to my nails which not all places do. Only thing is having to tip in cash which is not really convenient to me personally, but it definitely does not sway my choice in nail salons. read more

Threading - I have very sensitive skin, so am unable to use wax. Threading is my go to for my eyebrows. I went to Nail Design the other day based on a recommendation from a friend who lives out in the burbs. I live in the city and usually go to Dipti. After sitting there for 15 minutes waiting (which is pretty long for eyebrow threading). She started threading and then stopped and starting plucking with tweezers. The reason I thread is because I don't want to pluck with tweezers. After what seemed like an hour of torture. I was look I cannot take you do this anymore as I was actually crying because she was hurting me so bad. She missed huge chunks in my brows and it was just pure torture. I will stick with my go to. Shame on me for trying someone different. read more

I love supporting local small businesses and this one is a regular I like to visit. KC is fantastic. My husband hated pedicures until he had one by KC. Of course, it's more about the foot massage to him, but he gets more pedicures than I do now! I never have to wait long, and the prices are very reasonable. Yeah won't go back. I went in for an acrylic fill only, and my nails look worse than when i showed up. My nails are crooked and unevenly filed. My polish doesn't cover my entire nail, which is frustrating because that was mainly what I wanted done. The nail polish has bubbles in it from being applied too quickly and carelessly. My skin was sliced MULTIPLE TIMES by the motor file. The service I received was careless, and my artist (Tina) was watching TV half the time she was doing my nails. read more

Absolutely horrendous. First off, I called and asked specifically for gel nail extensions. Not acrylics. I was promised that was what I booked my appointment for. The woman not only put very thick uneven acrylics, she also used the drill and drilled divots into my nail beds. It's been 4 weeks and they still haven't grown out. My nails were filed so thin and unevenly, I have to have gel put on just to keep my nails from breaking off. It was absolutely ridiculous. If you care about your nails at all I would go elsewhere. read more

Will not be back to this place. When I first when in I was welcomed, but it was so busy I was asked to come back, which was cool with me being a walk in. When I got there it was a mad house. I did the mani-pedi. The pedi was ok but felt like he was rushed. It was then onto the mani, which I was not asked if I wanted the same color as toes but he just did that color. Due to it being so busy two people did my mani and it was not a relaxing experience. By the way the next day three of the nails were chipping off!!!! Tina is fabulous. Amazing memory as she knows everyone by name. Been going here for years, even when it was previous owner. Can't beat the price, $30 mani/pedi or $40 no chip mani/pedi. Always clean. Always friendly. Great local nail salon. Used to live across the street so easy to just go there. I've since moved, but still worth the drive for such friendly and personal service. read more
