Excellent service in a pleasant, clean environment, by a friendly, quality nail technician .

My appointment was made very easily. I needed to get services before a wedding I was going to on Friday (9/27). I went in on a Tuesday morning (9/24). I was not feeling too great but I had a pedicure and full set scheduled. Tracy was very nice. We started with my pedicure. A small pedicure bowl (similar to one I have at home) was waiting for me. Not a big deal as long as it's clean and my toes are taken care of. Then I got my full set. Tracy used a file instead of a drill. Again, not a big deal for me as long as the turn out is the same. There was no powder for the gel nails just a sort of ready made gel that was applied onto the tips. The tips were also added to a polished adhesive that was painted on my nails. I've never had this style done to my nails but I went with it. She had received great reviews for nails. My bill was $95. That is very high from what I would normally pay. When I got home I noticed the gel on one of my nails was also on my skin. It's happened before with other salons so I filed it down. Later, I was looking at my toes and noticed the polish was not cleaned off well and wasn't that neat. Looking deeper I noticed under my toe nails were not cleaned out either. Then I started looking at my nails and my left tip of my left thumb nail broke off. I had to really file that nail and reshape it and ended up reshaping the others a bit to match. The nails looked like they had lifted off my natural nails. The way they look when you've had them for 2-3 weeks. I couldn't believe it. My boyfriend asked me what I was doing because he thought I went out to get that done. I sent Tracy a message letting her know the issues and she asked if I could come in the next day to fix everything but I couldn't. I was feeling even more sick and still had to find a dress but I just stayed home until the wedding and wore something from my closet. Thursday I was washing a few dishes and felt my left pointer finger was missing a nail. It had fallen off. By then I had had enough and couldn't go to the wedding with a nail missing. I decided to remove the nails. Very easily 7 more of them just came off. Fully. I was in shock. I've never had any full set ever come off so easily let alone fall off or break. I ended up just buffing, filing and adding a clear coat to my nails. I wanted to love this place but it was very disappointing. read more

Tracy went out of her way to make a very difficult time more bearable. I almost never get a manicure, but my father passed away recently and I knew that I needed professional help to get my hands and nails in shape for his funeral. A few days before the funeral, I started looking for a nail salon and was dismayed to find that many of the local chains had a number of negative reviews. This was too important of an event for me to risk a bad manicure! I found Tracy's Tips & Toes on Yelp and clicked on the appointment link. I didn't expect to get a reply until the following day, as it was late in the evening, but Tracy replied within minutes and I quickly had an appointment for the following day. I don't often wear nail polish, so I needed Tracy's help choosing a shade. As we were beginning, I asked - mostly out of curiosity - about the differences between a "regular" manicure and other options. She explained the differences between gels, no chip, and traditional products. Knowing that I wanted my nails to look good for a very important event, it would have been easy for Tracy to pressure me into a higher-priced product, but Tracy simply explained the differences and allowed me to make the choice that was right for me. Ultimately, knowing that I am hard on my nails and not wanting them to chip before the funeral, I did ask for a no chip polish instead of the regular polish I'd initially chosen. It seems like a little thing, but knowing that my nails looked good helped ease the stress of a very difficult day. Here is a place where I enjoy getting my nails done. It's like having your own personal stylist and it's only you and her. I loved it! Amazing. I called and got an appointment for the same day. She uses a creamy kind of gel rather than powder and the new nail is not nearly as thick and so smooth. Almost ordorless. Going on vacation and she told me if I needed a touch up on polish to give her a call and she would fit me in before I left.
