My husband and I got pedicures and he got a massage while I was getting my nails done. Pedicures were mediocre at best: water wasn't warm enough and request to change temperature wasn't accommodated. They didn't ask how short we wanted nails cut. When I tried to explain what we wanted on cut it was ignored. I asked for regular polish and they insisted on gel - fine, I normally get gel so I went with that (extra cost was explained). Towels were extremely hot for both of us - most salons will open and fan the towel for a moment to cool it down, not here! Temperature inside of the salon was HOT! Like nauseating hot, no air or fans on (that we could tell) My husband said his massage was not as requested - he asked for deep/hard pressure and the gentleman applied light pressure as if a child was performing the massage. My husband said he asked several times if time was up so he could be done, because the request for deeper pressure wasn't accommodated. My nails: I asked for dip nails (tip added to natural nail), shorter coffin and wanted a different color than my toes. The man doing my nails insisted I must get acrylic with gel polish - not what I wanted but after resisting, I finally gave in. Also, he refused to do a different color, kept insisting it would only look good with the same polish as my toes. Again, after disagreeing for a bit, I finally said whatever and went with the same pink as my toes. Nails lasted 2 days before they started lifting. Like ladies: don't go here unless you want to waste your money and constantly have your hair pulled by your nails. Noir Nails up the road is light years better! The owner (I assume it was her) was there. She was friendly. She seemed to really take an interest in the lady/young child she was helping. I just moved here from California where I've had the same nail technician for over 26 years. I've been to a half a dozen nail salons around Norman but could not find someone that actually cared about the health of my nails and cuticles. I also made an appointment ahead of time (which was real easy online) and she took me in right on time, not having to wait 15 minutes or longer beyond my appointment because someone walked in ahead of me. My wife purchased a gift certificate at Christmas for Nails by Holly on Classen. Hollys has moved since then and now her business is out of her home at 1808 Candlewood in Norman. She has such a positive attitude and treated us like family. She does exceptional work. I had a pedicure and it was so nice and even though I could get it through my foot doctor for free, it was such a good experience I will be coming back to Holly. She does work out of her home and It was nice and comfortable and a real joy to sit with Holly and chat while she worked on my feet. My treatment was definitely more that my doctor does. Sounds like Holly the one to do your nails. I got a ped and a mani and the manicure was trash. A guy did mine. He didn't file my nails at all...did not cut any dead skin or cuticle and tried to leave dried polish on my skin. I asked him to clean that up and he did. The paint looks terrible too. No lotion even after spraying my fingers with alcohol before painting. Very disappointed. I feel like if you don't get a set then they don't want to deal with you. read more

The last place I had gone for about three months had done some serious damage to my nails. I came here on a recommendation from a friend. I asked Holly not to use the grinder to take off the polish and she looked at me like I was crazy! She looked at my nails and told me to SIT. I soaked my nails and she checked on me constantly. Another tech removed the polish gently, clean up my cuticles, and gave me a clear polish. Holly said NOT to come back until my nails healed. Other places would have slapped on dip and sent me on my way. She turned down quick bad business for long term grateful business! read more

This is my first review, and I was debating if I should even write it, no sense crying over spilt milk but.... I called and asked if there was an appointment open in the afternoon as I needed gel polish taken off with a manicure before a job interview I had the next day. I got there was the only one in the salon and the staff was incredibly rude. I got a negligent manicure that to this day (roughly a month later) has damaged my nails and left pesky hangnails I cannot get rid of. To add insult to injury, I also got a pedicure and believe that the case of athletes foot that showed up a few days later was from the salon as well. DO NOT make an appointment, instead go to Filed or Royal Nail in Norman which are both the gold standard for nails in Norman. As they were both closed, I needed the polish taken off immediately and this salon was the only option. The first experience I had with them was great! Good service, good nails, but I went again 3 days ago and it was so bad!! Bad service. told my friend that she was wrong and she didn't know what she wanted all cause no one was asking her what she did want. i got a full set acrylic, the guy who did them wouldn't talk to me and when I tried explain what I wanted he couldn't understand me so when I asked ballot if she was understanding me she kept saying no. I made 3 online appts for myself and 2 daughters. No one was expecting us and had no idea we had appts. We had confirmation texts and emails. They took one daughter right away so I thought "oh good, they'll come get us next. 35 minutes later they came and got my other daughter and left me sitting there alone for 25 minutes. This is when I decided to let the girls finish up and I would go run a few errands. When I returned. My first daughter was very upset because her nails looked awful. The shape was wrong, the black tips weren't opaque enough. You could see right through them. My other daughter was satisfied with hers. We will never be back to this nail business. read more

Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long read. I've come here for YEARS and have generally had pretty good service. A few months ago, I was told they were switching to appointment only. That being said, I've made appointments every time since then, to ensure (or so I thought), that I would be taken care of at my appointment time. I made this appointment a month ago for yesterday (8/28). I called the Friday before and asked if my daughter could also come to get a pedicure with me, to make sure they had the staffing. Was told, no problem, we have you down and will add her. Saturday, when they called to confirm with me, they in fact did not have us both down, just me. So, again, they wrote us down and also asked us to arrive a little early. Sunday comes, they open at noon, we are there at 11:50 and they are not there yet. Once we go in, they're getting set up, and start to fill our soak tubs, and the phone is ringing off the hook. My lady was running around with the appointment book, answering calls, and had yet to touch my feet at 12:20. During this time, 3 people came in - 1 for a full set, 2 for waxes. I kid you not, all 3 of them were served while my daughter and I were still just sitting in our pedicure chairs. Finally around 12:25, one lady started on my daughter. They had 3 employees and 5 customers. I shook the first wax off, thinking, it'll be quick. But when she took the 2nd wax customer AND was still carrying around her appointment book and phone, I was not happy. So I got up out of the chair and the girl doing my daughters toes kinda giggled, then said something to who was supposed to be doing my toes and she rushed over telling me to sit down. I told her I would no longer be getting a pedicure. My daughter was ready to get up and walk out with me but she was already almost half way done at this point so I told her to finish. I did go ahead and get a manicure, since that was included what my appointment was for, and all the while, my nail tech didn't say a word to me for most of the time. This was the same lady that was supposed to do my toes. When I was almost done, she then apologized and told me she could do my pedicure but I declined. She really gave up a $40 + tip pedi for prob $15 in eyebrow waxes for a long time customer that had AN APPOINTMENT like they have requested. We paid $55 dollars to receive acrylic nails for my daughter. They didn't put them on correctly and they broke with 2 days. They said they would fix them if i brought her in. My husband did and they refused to fix them accusing my daughter of things..she had acrylics before and they didn't break for awhile. They were rude and unprofessional when went. I will never go here again. They also overcharged me on my pedicure according to their prices and overcharged on my middle daughter and didn't do her nails like they were supposed to with what had picked out for her. I just want to say thank you for fitting me in this evening at the last second. I broke a "real nail" down to the nail bed. It was painful and I was unsure how to best "fix it" at home. Jackie, who normally does my nails was not there but they still told me to come in. I think it was Tony who helped me? Anyway, it was 25 min till close and he took the time to soak off my gel nails, hand file my nails bc they are thin from a previous bad experience at another salon, and then repair the damaged nail. Absolutely awful experience. First time at this nail salon but I figured how could I go wrong in having my nails soaked off. I have a nail tech that always does a great job but this lady talked me into having my nails done not just the soak that I went in for. She said that her salon was rated best in town. She then proceeded to tell me I should have made an appointment to have my nails done because they were really busy. There literally wasn't anyone in the place. I told her I could go somewhere else and should have because that should have been a red flag as to how this was going to go. I used to come here a lot but business has gone down. Had an appointment for noon on sunday right when they opened (because they said they were appointment only) waited 30 minutes before my toes were even touched. While waiting those thirty minutes they took 3 walk ins instead. Me, obviously annoyed with the situation, the lady working on my toes then laughed about it. After looking at my toenail polish, it is obvious she barely tried. You can see where there's top coat on my toes and the spots she missed with the top coat. I had a horrible experience with this salon and this is not the first time. I used to go to Nails by Holly when it first opened. One visit, I got a shellac manicure that chipped off in FOUR days. I returned and asked for my money back, and they offered to redo it...I accepted the offer and yet again they chipped off in less than 5 days. I once again returned to the salon and asked this time for my money back and they blatantly refused only offering a redo. This interaction in itself shows very little care for customer satisfaction and very little integrity for this salons work... I returned to Nails by Holly in July of this year after my sister recommended it. The first pedicure I received was mediocre but nothing uncomfortable. I returned again and Nancy did my pedicure, and did an outstanding job. The third pedicure I received from Jackie* was so rough that my cuticles and toes were sore the next day, and even bleeding. I yet AGAIN, gave this salon ANOTHER chance after several let downs... I called and made an appointment...arrived at the salon and there was 1. No appointment in the book 2.The pedicurist was with another client and would be "about 20 minutes if I wanted to wait" I asked why I would need to wait 20 minutes when I made an appointment and the woman helping me had no answer. She stated that a gentleman could "wrap" my toes while I waited for Nancy and I agreed. The "gentleman" who wrapped my toes not only was very rude to me, he also scraped my skin while filing my gel polish off, I said ouch because he was vigorously filing, and he very aggressively looked up and asked why I was saying ouch and looked at me as if he was going to punch me in the face, then proceeded to speak in another language to the other nail tech, and raise his arms in anger...at this point I was very upset and extremely uncomfortable. I continued to wait a total of 35 minutes and then I just ended up removing the foil from my toes and walking out. Not one employee said a word or apologized for their actions and I will 1. Never return to this salon and 2. Warn others about what goes on I had to leave with my toes looking shredded and filed down to the core. I am very understanding and open to mistakes being made but these experiences just go to show that this salon lacks care and comfort for its clients. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences in my life. A 1 star is even too many.... read more

My experience was amazing! I went for the first time a few weeks ago because I had moved to the opposite side of town. Holly was available to do my nails on my first visit and she did an incredible job! She asked what I wanted, and I was nervous to be specific.... She said, "NOOOOO tell me exactly what you want! I want to do what YOU want!" So I told her and my nails were shaped perfectly! I was in a time crunch and she was able to complete a new set, perfect oval shape, and gel in more than enough time to make it to work! I have been coming to Nails by Holly for over 3 years now! I have never ever left this shop disappointed. I get a pedicure by Jackie every single and she does an amazing job. Did acrylic nails here. The guy that did my nails didn't ask what length I want or shape. He cut them short and I had to tell him to to a shape because he kept making them super square. He said "oh, you want a shape?" I got a neon yellow gel. I didn't like that the color was see through and didn't look like the sample. I could still see my nail through the paint. The guy who did my nails made a comment saying that I needed to pick dark colors next time because of my skin tone which is 100% unrelated. I very much enjoyed my experience here. It was a professional place that made me feel welcome. My 4 year old was a typical kid but they never seems bothered by her. I only had one complaint and that was when they were trimming around my toes they were not gentle. I am in quite a bit of pain today (the day after) and my toe is pretty swollen.
