I wanted to love this place due to the reviews. I have very short natural nails. I told the young boy at the desk I specifically wanted someone with a strong touch to massage my feet and pay attention to my cuticles and prior damage from gel polish. My nails are so short they don't need filing down but I want extra care for the nail beds and calluses. He rushed me to check in. I sat there for 30 minutes in the chair just soaking and the technicians kept sitting down, starting to work on me, and then moving to someone else. The lady I ended up with (the third person at this point) immediately asked if I wanted gel and then complained I had picked a natural polish and that the color wouldn't look good. She had the lightest touch, barely cut my cuticles or buffed them and used no callus remover at all on my feet. She didn't paint my nails to the edges. I had to constantly ask her to fix what she was doing. She seemed very inexperienced. TWO HOURS for a basic mani pedi with $10 for added massage and I spent almost $80 for this!. No callus scrubbing, no cuticles, and the place seems pretty dirty. I won't go back. They seem VERY popular due to their gel nail designs and have a lot of regulars that they seem to put first over walk ins. read more

Just moved here and looking for a new spot. Their "menu" doesn't give descriptions or prices. I searched their limited colors, and ended up telling the technician I wanted something similar to what I currently had on and she said ok. After sitting the chair (which was in good working condition) I was given the different pedicure options. No beverage was offered (this is standard at every salon I've ever been) I chose the deluxe which was listed as $50. Gel polish is what I always get, so no problem. Not shortened enough as I explained I needed either. When I go to check out she rang me up for $75. This is Bradenton, FL...no special pedicure here and definitely not worth $75. First time customer and the young man sitting at the desk isn't exactly welcoming. Anyway, my first experience was with a very new nail technician. Two weeks out of school. I mean everyone has to start somewhere and I was just getting a regular mani/pedi but I was surprised that they were putting me with a new person. Usually first time customers are treated well so they return. I'm afraid the salon didn't impress me. I noticed the work of some other technicians, they do have some talented artists. If you have Gel or Acrylics this salon seems to be a better fit for you than it was for me. If it's your first time, I would ask for a experienced technician. My suggestion to Cathy is to get someone who knows how to greet customers when they walk in. The young boy is nice enough he just seems like he wants to be anywhere but working at a nail salon. I'm guessing it's a summer job for him. Looks like my hunt for a new nail salon goes on. Cathy is very sweet, she checked with me to make sure I was ok and asked how my service was but it was a little too little a little too late. Just went to Nails by Cathy in Bradenton for the first time and I'm very happy with the service. Rose was very nice and did a great job on my pedicure and gel manicure. I appreciated that she asked me if my nails were cut short enough before continuing with the pedicure. Let's be honest you never know what you're about to walk into with a nail salon. First, I walked in and was warmly welcomed, signed in and was quickly met, even though they were busy already, and was asked to find my color, directed to a chair and they began right away... that rarely happens where I live. I have been here before and was looking forward to a relaxing manicure and pedicure as I haven't had one in quite some time. I called to make sure they were open and headed that way. I then was told to go sit in the chair and a gentleman started doing a pedicure, and then a woman came over and started doing a manicure while I was in the chair. She did the whole manicure even though I was not happy about it. I couldn't even turn the massage chair on as she was having to paint my nails. They both were in conversation the entire time so was not relaxing at all . I went to pay and was asked if everything was good and I told her no and told her my problem and all she said was oh sorry we're closing soon. They should've told me that when I called as I never would've went there knowing I would've had to be rushed in and out after spending $70. Writing a review after a week as I wanted to see the quality of the shellac and my nails started chipping after seven days. I will not be going back. read more

Had a great experience with my mother while I was visiting her for winter break. I called at 10 and made a same day appointment for 3:15 for two pedicures. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. They were super super super busy but super kind. Our pedicures ended up starting at 3:25 which is no big deal, but they short and simple. I probably would have preferred a bit of a longer pedicure, but that is okay. I could tell they were anxious and moving fast! The pedicures were definitely not a rush job, because my mom and I's pedicure turned out great :) I would definitely recommend this place, and call early if you want a same day appointment! read more

Today was my first visit to Nails by Cathy and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and courteous. I got a pedi and dip mani and I'm very pleased with how both turned out. I generally do not like the fake nail feeling so I was pleased when there was no pressure from the nail tech about getting tips on my nails for the dip mani. Best foot massage I've gotten at a nail salon by far! Also fun story, I now have a new friend that I met while getting my nails done here. On the plus side, Nails By Cathy is so clean and bright and uplifting I enjoyed my services here just for that alone! I had two to three pedicures here that were excellent. I received the gel on my toenails and I have absolutely zero complaints. As far as manicures go ... I typically enjoy gel/shellac on my nails because it has more staying power and the shine lasts. However, this establishment uses the dremel (sp?) machine on top of the nail when removing the polish. I have never liked that procedure and subsequently, my last application of gel polish seemed to just lift and peel away from my nails right before Christmas ....leaving my natural nails paper thin and damaged! They look awful now. Not happy. I hear Cathy is the best manicurist here, but it appears you don't get to choose her. ‍ I had requested her and I ended up getting a different person. read more

Such a cute little salon and very nice staff. Everything is very neat and clean and they took me very quickly even though I didn't have an appointment. My only issue is that In most nail salons I go to, they take the tools out of a machine that sterilizes them before they use them. My nail tech was very kind and did a great job, but she pulled the cuticle trimmer out of a drawer and I don't think it was clean (she wiped a piece of debris off of it with a towel). There is a lot of risk there for spreading fungus and even serious blood borne pathogens. As a nurse, I see older diabetic patients who have to get toes removed from even just a small infected cut. There were a lot of elderly people in there and it's just a little worrisome. If they fixed that I would definitely come back. read more

Hey all, so I hate to give bad reviews but they talked me out of the design I wanted and literally missed painting 2 nails on my feet. I got my nails done at their salon 2 days priory to my wedding so they would be in the best shape possible. As you could imagine, I had a million things going on as I sat in the pedicure chair. The last thing I thought to check was if each nail got painted on my toes since that's what I was paying to have done. On my wedding day as I went to put on my heals which were open toe I noticed the second toe was entirely not painted. The ladies were nice I just wish all my nails were painted as expected especially for my wedding day... Make sure you learn from my mistake and check to make sure all your nails are painted before you leave! read more

On the plus side. Clean, efficient, accommodating, staff is professional and friendly. We called for an appointment for 4 of us and they got us in and we were able to sit together for the pedicures. On the negative, and to be honest, I've yet to find ANY pedicure place that really listens (perhaps a language thing) however, I'm very clear on what I'm desiring and paying for. When I asked for the pedicure that offers the most massage time, I was told the $42 one offers this. I also was very clear that I did not need the toenails cut and that I had a lot of dry skin and callouss that I wanted focused on, the nail tech filed them anyway and proceeded to cut my big toe with the sharp file edge and it bled. Still hurts. I paid for the upgraded pedi and my granddaughter, who was sitting next to me (little 5 yr old) her pedicure lasted about 25 min. and I was done in 30. I received zero massage other than the rubbing in of the mask and scrub. The removal of any dry skin was done with a tiny rough sponge that was hardly used and I still have the rough dry patches on my big toes and heals. Granddaughter (who's a flower girl in a wedding so this was very special for her) both finger and toes polish was chipped in less than 24 hours. I'll have to repaint for the wedding. My daughter was also with me and received a mani/pedi and her 2 services were completed in under an hour. Zero massage on her feet. Lastly, also had my grandson receive his first pedicure and since he did not get any polish, he received the most massage out of the 4 of us, however, his service was completed in 20 minutes. Basically, he received a foot bath, with some scrubbing and some massage. He loved it. All in all, I was disappointed with the services my family received having been very clear with what we wanted. Walked out spending $170, including tip, having spent under 1 hour here. Will continue to shop for the salon that listens to its clients wishes. read more

Beyond satisfied!! Came here yesterday to kill some time while in Bradenton. They got me in right away even with no appointment. The gentleman did a wonderful job on my mani/pedi! (I apologize for not getting his name) You can tell he takes pride in his job because he wouldn't overlook even the slightest hang nail. He took his time with me and didn't rush through it.
