I showed her a few ideas but ultimately just wanted a noticeable hair transformation. She definitely exceeded all expectations and gave me a style I feel so confident in! Not only was I highly impressed with my hair but the overall experience was great. I brought my one year old daughter with me to get her bangs trimmed as well, and even when she got a little fussy the Salon staff were so kind and helpful. They made us feel so welcomed the whole time. I can honestly say I left this salon SO HAPPY and look forward to booking more appointments here in the future! read more

I made an appointment with the Loft today and it started out with my stylist being switched to a different person and a different time, yet no one called or text me to let me know. That was honestly not a problem considering I am looking for a new stylist. However, that's when things got really bad for me. When I sat down with Giulian ( I think thats what her name was) she insisted on knowing what salon I had been to before, while I am not interested in talking negatively about anyone in my community so I politely declined to tell her who it was. After that, we took my hair down and the stylist said "ewuu"! And then stated "she wasn't comfortable with me in her chair" and told me to reschedule with someone else. I left there in tears today. It seams like a lovely place and I would have very much enjoyed that being my home salon. I hope you get a kinder stylist to represent your business. read more

I only had one experience there, which was a good one. However, the day of my second appointment I got a call a couple of hours before my visit, it was canceled. I was told my stylist was going to be out for a while and the woman who called became very pushy about having me see a different stylist, which I did not appreciate. I think it's very inappropriate to push someone into seeing a different person than the one who was requested. I asked multiple times if the stylist no longer worked their because that is the only reason I can think of for pushing so hard to get me to see someone else. After making it very clear that I would wait for the stylist to return, after being told repeatedly that she did still work there, I never got a call back when she "returned". I wouldn't recommend going to a salon that will lie to you to try to keep getting your money, instead of allowing you the opportunity to stay with the stylist you are happy with. I assume the owner thinks that's the best way to keep clients in the salon, personally, I disagree. read more

Umm yeah I know what a full highlight is and that would've made me blonde like I wanted. Nowhere did I say I wanted a full bleach with no brown showing. I left a brunette with different colored fried highlights (not full highlights) which was blamed on me as you guys want to make up that I still had dye all in my hair prior. As if I don't know. You only address that I wasn't as blonde as I wanted and not the uneven highlights, my roots not the same on both sides, and the fact you guys fried my hair and made some stuff up to cover for that. Amy cuts my teenage sons hair, which is longer and thick. He's not easy to please at 15 and she does a great job. They have free beverages while you're there, and sell a nice selcection of hair products as well. It's a great plaza that it's in too. read more

I had three experiences at this salon- first with a groupon - in the end I was up charged for the visit - talked into services that were not included on the groupon- next - visit same stylist (Christina)- wanted hi and lo lights - as well as cut and blow dry - left me processing with foils for extended time - never checking color (she did several cuts on others while I waited) - hair ended up too light- foolishly returned again a third time- For some reason she did only the roots, cut and blow dry - but charged more than previously. I found this out when I was at the cashier to pay for the service. I do not recommend. Covid came - wasn't going to go back anyway but now have discovered a talent for cutting my own hair. I had the misfortune of going to this salon in December. I chose it because of the great Yelp reviews and my misconception that the few bad reviews were probably just annoying customers. At the end of February I FINALLY finished all the color correction treatments to repair the damage done in my 2.5 appointments with the Loft Hair Studio. I originally contacted the salon on Yelp after reading the reviews. I asked specific questions regarding my hair. I then called and spoke again with the receptionist. Finally, I decided to go in for a consultation because I wanted to make sure I could get what I asked for. In the consultation, I showed the picture below and was specific about my needs. I made it clear that I wanted my hair color throughout as years of highlights had left the bottom lighter than than the top. I also wanted to go much darker than my light blonde hair. My stylist seemed excited and said it was all doable. I even made sure to tell her I'd been living overseas and wanted to ensure color would adhere. On the day of, my stylist was nice and complimentary. After finishing my hair, she repeatedly complimented how nice it looked. She complimented it so much that I was feeling awkward and running out of responses. She spiral curled it and took a photo. I left thinking it was great. 2 hours later the curls fell and I was appalled. In my dark apartment bathroom, I noticed something odd. It seemed like there was a very visible line of unblended color that was accentuating my face! And not only that I most definitely didn't have the dark hair I'd requested or even the same color throughout my hair. I drove to a friend's house and she told me it was just as bad in the back. We started moving my hair around and there was clear lines of color everywhere! It was terrible! I called and was asked to submit pictures. I did. I did NOT receive an apology, but rather was told that "[the stylist] said it didn't look like that when you left, she even showed me photos." I had no idea how to even respond because I 1. wanted them to fix my hair without me paying and 2. thought that I must have no idea how color worked if it could move into solid lines after having it washed and dried. I went back in a few days later. I did not receive an apology. Rather, I repeatedly apologized. Who knows why I did this, I think I was embarrassed to have complained. The one comment that really shook me during this "fix up appointment" was that it wasn't visible because of the salon's lighting. Um... if you're salon's lighting is so poor you can't notice clear mistakes, then it might be time to get new lights? Also, how could a good colorist not notice that my hair had all these clear dye lines? Even if your lighting is terrible, wouldn't the colorist be looking closely to evaluate their work? It just seemed shocking that ownership for the mistake was not taken, but excuses were given. Furthermore, I should not have been apologizing, but rather receiving repeated apologies. I left late that night (I believe the owner stayed late to fix my hair). I had originally paid for a blow dry/style. Well, I left that night and my hair had been quickly dried. There was no styling. In fact, my hair wasn't even re-parted! I had to do it with my fingers in the car. Look, I appreciated they were fixing the hair for free. However, I think it was clear that the original colorist did a poor job. You would think that they would be trying to make this up to me and going above and beyond. This would not only entail apologies and ownership of mistakes, BUT actually styling my hair. My honest guess is that it wasn't styled for a reason: it wasn't fixed. The line of demarkation had faded, but was still visible. The line in the back of the hair was still visible, but at least better blended. I did not have the dark color I originally wanted, but it had gotten re-lightened to fix all the issues. I went to another salon 6 days later. At this point I was not going to deal with Loft anymore and definitely didn't trust anyone else there to touch my hair. At the next salon it took 3 visits to repair my hair. I had to pay additional fees beyond just "dye, full highlights, etc" because I had to pay for "color correction". They pointed out each of the unblended lines of demarkation they found. They also remarked on why I had chosen demi-permanent hair dye as the fade had made and would make the lines become more obvious. This was a true shocker because my original stylist suggested this at the consultation and I agreed. At my full appointment, I let her know I'd really thought about it and would prefer permanent. She agreed. In the end I paid around 100$ for the Loft (did a groupon and paid for reverse baylage). Then I paid 487$ + tips to get their damaged fixed. Go. somewhere. else. read more

I was in Bradenton for a wedding and I choose this place to get my hair styled and makeup done for a family wedding based on the reviews. Let me first say everyone was very friendly there and I never leave 1 star reviews. The salon booked 2.5 hours for my appt for a partial Updo and makeup application. I was out of the salon in less than hour and the work definitely showed it. I wanted a half up, down hair style however the stylist convinced me to do all down so all she did was curl my hair which took all of 15 minutes and was annoyed she wouldn't compete the up do. However then for makeup I asked for full coverage with contour and my face did not even look like I had any foundation or coverage. I showed her a picture I wanted of eyes I wanted which were neutral, red shimmer, Smokey eye. First she wouldn't do eye liner because she said it will make my bags brighter...which if she covered them like I asked, wouldn't be an issue. Then she only used a light brown eyeshadow. When she first showed me her end result I asked her to change it to look like the picture. With her attempt to fix this she only added a little darker brown and called it a day. I was so annoyed I just said fine and left. It was such a waste of $140 I have ever spent. I left the salon, went straight to Ulta and bought makeup remover and makeup took everything off and redid it when I got to my hotel. Love Love Love the stylist but the manager and the receptionist were rude and the receptionist lied. Which I asked the manager to ask her stylist for the truth and she declined. We bought a twenty dollar tube of conditioner and the tube was defective but the manager didn't believe me. Again the stylist would know this is not my character in anyway in fact I have been complimented on my manners and the manners of my grandson's. She then said she didn't want my business which hurts her stylist. Very Sad about this but that behavior should not be rewarded with business. I wanted to really like this place, but after going their for a cut and color for me and my 2 daughters they showed me they're not very good at listening to directions. Explicitly asked for long layers all around my hair and only got them around my face. My daughter was getting her hair colored and we said no blonde, that she hates blonde, and ended up with strawberry blonde hair. I even had to step in at one point to make sure it was going to be a dark auburn red and the stylist still didn't do it. I didn't think these were complicated hairstyles, especially for nearly $500, so I'm still looking for another place. read more

This is it! After three tries, The Loft will be my permanent go-to place. Angelique is a true color professional with a great eye for creating the most flattering and stylish results that also satisfied all my requests. My hair is difficult to color because it is thick, coarse, does not taken color well, includes stubborn incoming greys, and my skin and scalp cannot endure any ammonia, which causes chemical burns that take months to recover from. Additionally, I had a botched all-over color job that had to be corrected. The thought and attention to detail Angelique put into learning about my hair before, during and after my appointment along with her knowledge and experience, paid off in the best color experience I've ever had across four continents. Avoid this salon! Amy destroyed my daughters hair. She asked for highlights and left with her hair soaking wet because Amy "didn't have time" to blow dry her hair. Called the owner to let her know my concerns and asked for my daughters money back. She said I could bring my daughter back in for a correction. I explained that she was not comfortable going back to the place that absolutely destroyed her hair. She told me that was a fair offer. I beg to differ. I tired this place because they were running a special on groupon. My first experience was great and my stylist was awesome. I was happy I finally found a decent hair salon but that only lasted until my stylist left. They canceled my appointment on a Saturday the last minute and i wasn't able to reschedule until Tuesday evening. Mind you I work and live an hour away but I had no other choice because it was right before a holiday. I figured what the heck I will sacrifice and drive the hour straight from work. They booked me with the owner which I thought was a plus but really wasn't. The hair cut was ok she didn't cut the layers in like I wanted and she wasn't very personable at all. After trying out another local salon and not liking the vibe, I decided to give the Loft a try. Now, I have longer, thicker dark hair and crazy eyebrows, so finding a new stylist is a very trying thing for me to do. With 850+ miles between me and my original stylist and with split ends just as long, my hand was forced. Got a recommendation from a co-worker and the deal from Yelp and decided I was ready to take the plunge. Sent an email - warning them about my thick hair - and was booked and in within a 24 hour period. First impression: the place is totally adorable and well-maintained. The vibe was chic, but comfortable and not snobby in the least bit! Like with most salons, wine, water, and coffee are offered - at the Loft, it was the first thing. I ended up with Ciarra, one of the newer stylists by her own admission, but she still blew me away. She took time to really ask me about my hair - how long I have for prep time, any hair nuances (where's it curl, any cowlicks, color touch-ups), where I wanted layers to lie, etc. I've had some awesome consultations, but her's was the first one where it really felt like we were working together instead of her (politely) showing me she knew better than I. (which all stylist do, but still!) All in all, the hair style looked great and I'm thrilled. I came to The Loft after reading Yelp reviews, because my hair looked awful from a really horrible color that I received from a salon in South Tampa. My roots were several shades lighter (and red/orange) then the shaft of my hair (dark brown-ish purple) My initial appointment with Tiffany - she colored my roots back to a normal brunette shade and places thin highlights throughout the rest of my hair. I have since been back to see Tiffany 3 times for root color, highlights, glossing treatment, and cut. My hair looks great and is in much better condition since finding Tiffany. Looked on yelp and took my chance visiting Loft hair salon on Cortez. First I have to say it is a very nice and friendly environment. I asked if it is possible to get an appointment with someone who is comfortable to cut CURLY hair. My hair is kind of long, and so curly that I cannot comb it only when wet. I moved from California so totally different weather. SHARON was on her way out but she told me if I want to come by 2 pm she will do it. Perfect for me. She did a great hair cut for me, I am so happy with it. The moment she starts you can fill she knows what she is doing. Felt comfortable. SHARON Is very knowledgeable, focus, polite.
