It is up to the customer what they should pay when it comes to a tip if they choose to give one. We overpaid in tip and it apparently wasn't enough. I have NEVER been to a nail salon where they complain about a tip in their own language loudly to each other and all of them come at the customer forcefully with a complaint. WHY??? simple, they paid no attention to what i told them i wanted and used some glitter gel to fill her nails. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my nails and so far I've been happy here. I usually see Tina or Howie and I've had Donna a couple times too, and they've all done a good job on my nails. They are usually pretty efficient as well and the salon is airy and clean with no obnoxious nail salon odor and good music. They do tend to get busy at certain times of the day and week, so although not always necessary, I've gotten into the habit of calling ahead so I don't have to wait or waste time going when they are too packed to take me. The fact they they do get busy is a good sign though. If you're looking for a good salon in Simi you should try it out! read more

First time customer for a regular mani. I came with gel nails from another salon and wanted to get a regular manicure because I can't have gel nails at work. I called ahead of time because I went late in the day to see if they could still take me and they said yes. I definitely should not have gone. The original color I wanted was so watered down that it was basically a clear coat, so I told her i didn't like it. Instead of restarting it on fresh nails, she layered it on top of the color I didn't like. She was just trying to finish as quickly and was super sloppy. I kept asking her to fix the nails that were sloppy, but she was clearly frustrated and just wanted to leave. I don't care about horrible service, but if you're going to be rude, you need to at least do your job correctly! read more

What stood out to me the most was how friendly, conversational, and patient the staff was, especially considering that I took a really long time picking out nail colors (which is a bad habit of mine that has annoyed nail salon staff in the past). Tina, one of the owners, did my manicure, and she did a careful job with my nails and corrected any mistakes along the way. She also had me double and triple-check my nails to make sure I liked the shape. She was so friendly and seems to take a lot of pride in her salon. Overall the experience was pleasant and I didn't get pressured into gel acrylics or any kind of up-sale, which was nice. I had Tina file down the length of my long acrylic nail and she didn't charge me anything for that. My only complaint is that she got the acrylic on my cuticles and the acrylic was lumpy. They look like "fake nails." I did not notice this until I was out in the sunshine. The salon is kept dark and inside the salon, my nails looked pretty good. I will not be going back. I give this place 3 stars because I've had worse acrylics and I've also had way better. read more

The lady that did my nails was great! The best I've had and she continuously asked if I liked what she's doing or if there was something I wanted done or changed. She knew I had a time limit so she was fast and efficient. Then they started getting busy and she was bouncing from me to another woman which I was fine with. Then she started making calls to clients who left her a voicemail while she was doing my nail. She was still fast but she was no longer efficient. I went in for a simple french tip with red underlining it. She red line wasn't dry enough so it got on the white, she fixed the 1 nail but didn't bother to do the rest and she even missed some spots on the top coat so I ended up fixing it myself. I got my eyebrows done as well but from another lady and she did good and also gave me a little massage which was nice. She was precise about her work. I went to pay and the lady who did my nail ended up adding another top coat as I was walking out which I had to wait to dry and ended up denting some nail polish getting my keys out of my purse and I ended up late. I'm willing to give them another shot since they got so many good reviews, I just wont be going there during their busy time and probably wont be getting the same lady. Apparently they're empty in the morning so I'll see how that goes and they were pricey compared to other places I've gone and they've done better even when they're busy. read more

I see Linh here for my pedicures and my gel manicures - she's the best. My manicures last 3 weeks! Pedicures last longer than that. Linh makes great conversation and her prices are terrific. She is only there on weekends tho, so make an appointment. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the place could use some TV or other distractions besides the 70's music playing on a loop. I saw Howie this morning and he was AMAZING. I didn't have an appointment and showed up right when they opened. I had to wait a few minutes for someone to get there to help me because the one woman who was there already had a customer ahead of me. But luckily, Howie showed up a few minutes later and was able to get me in and out with a full set and a pedicure in an hour and 15 minutes. I had told him that I needed to leave at a certain time to make it to my work on time, and he WORKED his ass off to make that happen. Despite having me put a time crunch on his work, he did a fantastic job with my set and with my pedicure. He even made enough time to fit in a callous treatment because I told him I'd be traveling overseas in a few days and wanted soft feet. By the time he was done, he was dripping sweat (on the floor, not on me lol) and I can tell you that he really EARNED the tip he got, which is rare these days when it comes to nail professionals. I really appreciate the care for cleanliness here. They use a new plastic liner in the tubs for spa pedicures and it appeared that they use new tools for each person, they were in an unopened package although I did not see what she did with them afterward. Linn did my pedicure and I am happy with the result. She was very sweet as well. The manicure was done by a different lady, didn't get her name, and it is pretty decent, a few little mess ups but nothing that ruins the overall aesthetic. After having a gel pedicure, with just water (guess they don't use soap or anything) and leaving with 5 bleeding toes that still hurt the next day I don't think I will ever be back. The lady took her time which would have been great had she not filed away my skin, cut my nails too short and made me bleed. She messed up the polish and attempted to fix it but it is still noticeable. For $30 I was astounded. They should be paying me for the dreadful and painful experience.
