This salon is not what it used to be. Both my daughter and I went to get gel manicures. Mine is uneven and was done very poorly. Another person came over to try and fix it. They are lumpy and uneven. My daughters have a big line without nail polish and spots where it is much lighter. This was definitely the last time we come. I am not sure if the ownership changed or what happened. read more

A woman who's name I didn't catch did my mother-in-law's pedi and John did her Mani. First of all, Tina was the absolute sweetest lady. My only complaint is I didn't like the shape of the nails even though I had shown her a picture, also when doing cuticles in some spots she nicked my skin to the point where I was bleeding. I have been getting gel nails and regular pedicures done at this location for over a year and I have yet to be disappointed. I find the staff to be both friendly and efficient, sometimes a gel set only takes 40-45 minutes, which is fantastic for me! The place is always very clean, well lit and with lots of color options. The price is reasonable and comparable to other locations, but the quality of the gels is what really brings me back. Gels done at this salon usually last me 2.5-4 weeks, depending an how hard I am with my hands. I love bringing my daughter and her friends here when we do sleepovers, they're so friendly and patient with the girls, and the girls always have a blast! I highly recommend this salon to anyone! Loved my pedicure today with Tracy. All of the ladies were very sweet and welcoming but Tracy just went the extra mile. Im not usually the kind of person who feels comfortable with expressing anything wrong / things I may not like about the service but Tracy made me feel so comfortable and never let me lie lol. She consistently asked me about my comfort level / what I liked more versus what I didn't. Her consistent way of checking on me made me feel like everything I preferred wasn't an inconvenience to her. I haven't had my acrylic nails on in years and remember how hard it been to find a good salon. I'm SOOO happy with Nail Star. Megan did my initial set and Stephanie has done my last two fills and nail repair. I'm so impressed. They ask how thick you want your nail, make sure to do too and bottom of the nail, and give a good shape. I have not been nicked or rubbed with the drill and have only lost one nail which was 100% my fault when I was working on my car. Had a pedi by Anthony last week and it was Heaven. I have been coming to this Nail Star location since it opened. Joey is hilarious and Tina is so sweet. I'm a loyal customer, but also pretty boring when it comes to my nails. I usually stick with basic red or black. Today, I wanted something special for a Christmas event this weekend. I pulled up a Pinterest photo (no imagination on my part) and Tina worked her magic! I usually go to Modern Nails on Eastern and this have never happened. I called about coming in to get it fixed and was asked who did my nails. Does it really matter?? I had an amazing experience here. I requested an appointment here on yelp and Joey told me to come right in. When I got there (a few hours later given some hold ups at home) they got me right in. I asked for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. The place is very clean and they use liners in the bowls. An older woman started my pedicure. A few moments later Tina came to start my nails. She did the pre work on them while my pedicure was finished (including a massage with hot stones) and then took me to her station to finish an ombré gel manicure. They had hundreds of gel options to choose from and a ton of regular polish as well (for my toes). The ombré was $10 more but all in all a very reasonable $60 for a regular pedicure and ombré gel manicure. I will certainly be back. They also offered a reward card to work towards $25 off after 10 stamps (one for each $25 spent). read more

I travel for work and am always on a quest to find a local spot to get a spa pedi and gel mani so I trust my fellow Yelpers not to lead me astray. Like to the point where if I don't find a good spot I contact my nail tech who is three hours away from my home and arrange for an appointment. I'd been to a shop down the street a month earlier and they had a great atmosphere but my regular polish mani was just meh. I was happy to come across Nail Star down the street with better reviews. I walked in Saturday afternoon with a grown out gel French mani and chipped pedí and was promptly greeted. The greeter asked if I was going with white again, because she could show me some cute pictures of other options. What can I say? I'm kind of boring traditional sometimes. They prepped the foot spa as I picked a color for my toes, figuring I'd just go with white tips again. I was enjoying my pedi - love that salons here include a hot stone massage. We don't get that in SoCal. I tend to walk around barefoot and always need a good callus scrub. Check! Joey wrapped my fingers in acetone and foil to soak off my old gel mani. Thank you for not coming at me with a Dremel and thinning out my nails! I came across a super cute french mani with a twist on Pinterest. The lady giving me a pedí called over Joey, I showed him the pic and he selected the new colors off the shelf for me and we were on our way. Super nice guy. Very careful application technique. I hate when you get a sloppy gel mani and they have to saw away the excess with a nail file after it's set. No such problem here. It's super cute and matches really well with my travel wardrobe. I haven't been to Nail Zone in nearly a year (I've been trying to let my nails rest), and figured maybe I would give the nail salon down the street from my house a try or two. The attention to detail and the customer service wasn't the same at that nail salon, so I decided I'd go back to Nail Zone. I scrolled through yelp to get the address and in the midst of doing so, decided to read some of the reviews. Thank goodness I did! Tina and the crew no longer are no longer at the Gibson location. They have moved to their new location on Horizon Dr. After not visiting Tina's salon for a whole year, I was so surprised her and her husband remembered me. They had a good amount of loyal customers from their old location come in today, each of which they welcomed in and were grateful for. They honestly have the best customer service I have ever experienced from any nail salon. I never felt rushed even when the shop was busy, and my nail lady (thin dark hair young lady...her name may have been Grace but I could be wrong) did a phenomenal detailed job with my pedi and mani. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and clean! The shop is about 10 minutes further than their old location, but I would gladly drive out again and again for such a great experience. I think it speaks volumes when your clients follow you from your old location to your new location, taking the effort to find out where your new location is without it ever being publicly disclosed where they have gone. read more
