This place is a 5 minute walk from my apartment. I was hesitant to go based on the reviews but figured I had to give it a try just bc it's so conveniently located for me. The staff is very nice, very clean location and my mani and pedi turned out great! I also love the shoulder massage! I thought maybe that was a little bonus for getting a no chip but they also do it for regular mani customers too! Free parking also if you need to drive! My nail tech didn't speak English. This was a major issue as I kept trying to tell her how to file my nails and she kept doing the exact OPPOSITE of what I wanted. I originally came for a no chip, but after just a few minutes of filing my nails, I got a polish change instead. If you can't file, you probably can't cut cuticles and if you can't cut cuticles, I won't chance it. I've been getting no-chips and pedicures here regularly since January 2015, and they're the best! Love their punch card for a free mani after you have 10. The massage chairs are amazing and all of their nail techs give no-chips that last 2-3 weeks. Can't beat free parking, either! My only wish is that they accepted Amex. I have never had a manicure, even no chip polish, last me more than a week. I'm 2 days away from the 2 week mark and my nails still look amazing. They have a punch card, which I plan to use when I return, to work towards a free Mani. I loved it because there was no pressure to "chit-chat. I have been coming here since it first opened, and for the most part, they have been pretty good. It's incredibly sanitary, aesthetically pleasing, and the staff is super friendly. I came in today to get a pedicure. I ended up getting an employee where I seriously question if she has ever even done a pedicure before. She struggled with using nail clippers, she struggled with the nail file and to buffer, and even to remove any dead skin on the bottom of my foot. I'd understand if I had very problematic feet, however, I get a pedicure every 3 weeks, so this should have been a breeze. Right before she was about to apply the color, another employee came and actually did it, not her. The color job was great but I literally just spent $30 for nothing. She didn't end up cutting the cuticles, or even removing ingrown nails. There was no work done to my pedicure except clip down of my nails and buffer. Nothing else. When I notified the manager, her only response was she will make sure she gets more training. No offer of a discount, no real resolution. For a place that has consistently slow service, I would've thought they would try to keep their customers coming back, but now I know why this place is always dead when I go in. First visit .. Pros.. very clean place.. very quick service.. ( maybe I went on on Tuesday at 5 And there were no other customers.. not too expensive and parking is free. Cons The girls do not greet customers and neither do they offer some magazines to read or a glass of water.. shoulder massage that was done for less than 30 seconds is nothing to rave about . Will I return again ? Maybe.. hopefully they will work on their customer service. read more

I went in on Friday to get a no chip manicure because my normal place was too busy. the place looked clean but I like places that use new tools every time and you actually see them opening a new package. this lady just pulled tools out of her drawer I have no idea when they had been cleaned. By Sunday two of my nails had chipped. by Tuesday 5 had chipped. I haven't even been doing anything out of the ordinary with my hands that would make them chip. the lady said when I left to come back if it chips in 7 days. I don't even want to waste my time bc the fix will probably chip the next day anyway. My other no chips last almost the full two weeks or more. I don't see myself going back. read more

Have been here multiple times for pedicures since it's quite conveniently located. Clean, well-lit space with friendly front desk staff. They are willing to accede to your requests to increase the temp of the water, and to use an extra tool to remove any dead skin from your heels (mine are very dry). Good 5-minute free neck and shoulder massage while your nails are drying. I like their punch card system, and they are not really pricey. Only a few minor problems here: the noise from the radio can be a bit too loud, slight difficulty in making myself understood to some of their staff, and somewhat inconsistent service quality among their team (though nothing markedly different). I have been going here for 5 years and they do the best job! Manicure lasts a long time and they always have the latest colors from OPI,Essie or Creative. It is very clean too and if I walk in I never have to wait too long. Calling ahead to make an appointment is a good idea because they can get busy during weekends or evenings! I received a really great mani/pedi, today. Very neat polish job. It was a bit rushed although at the time I sat in the chair, I was the only one in the shop. I would give a 5 except for the fact that when I was signing my receipt, one of the technicians grabbed the clipboard I was using to sign my credit card receipt to give it to another customer. She pulled it away as I was signing, removed my receipts from the clipboard and said this one is for you and you leave this one (paraphrasing). Well, No Shit! I gave a look of 'seriously, you couldn't have waited for me to finish and you're being condescending? She said something in her language and laughed along with another woman. I'm not sure what she said and it could have been derogatory. Whatever she said, she should have used english or perhaps not said anything. My words to you are, this is rude behavior. Please don't treat another customer this way. This is a great location and you will get lots of patrons because You and the other technicians seem to be very talented at what you do. However, if you treat people the way you treated me, it's likely this place will always be as empty as it was during my visit. I will definitely return and so that you won't have to pull a clipboard from one customer to give to another and make a condescending remark, I'm treating you to mini clipboards. I'm hopeful that you will choose next time not to be condescending as you were with the comment about the receipts. If you choose to or not, speak English so as to be fair. read more

Walked in with no apt and was seen right away. Although it started to get busy, the tech never rushed, she did a careful, precise no chip mani. Even the take off of my old chip was done carefully, without damaging my nails. When's the last time someone paid attention to the mani they were doing rather than filing your nails till you bleed while they look everywhere but at your hands? That was a refreshing change. Sad to say, but this was probably the worst no chip manicure I've ever gotten. The ladies were so nice and the place was so pretty, I'm disappointed it didn't work out. My no chip started peeling off after one day. They fixed my nails free of charge, but it peeled off again after another day. It's only been 3 days and I'll be removing the no chip myself. Since moving from South of to North of the Loop, I needed a new nail place. This salon fit the bill, across the street from Target, Petsmart, and Home Depot so I can run all my errands then stop in before heading home. Great color selection (or you could be me and bring your own), and the latest gossip magazines for you to catch up on. I'm not a chatty person and the staff get that and once they start are quiet unless they're checking in or have a question. They listen to you about nail clipping, cuticle trimming, and if you've got ticklish feet. I like the punch card for each visit and even brought my mother here when she visited. She liked it too. Parking is a bit hit or miss on weekends since they're in a busy shopping area. I would definitely give yourself extra time to find some if you make an appointment. read more

LOVE this salon! Beautifully designed space in a great location. They have a ton of polish colors as well as no chip colors to choose from. The pedicure chairs come equipped with back massage capabilities and are one of the most comfortable chairs I have sat in. The technicians are very friendly and always remember your name. This nail salon is beautiful, but very pricy. Basic mani/pedi was $40, everything else was ala carte. My services were mani/pedi, my pedicure was good and sustained for a week and half. I love this nail salon! First of all, it's very clean. Unlike some nail salons I have been to, Nail Secrets makes it a priority to keep everything sanitary. The decor inside is very aesthetically pleasing. Nail Secrets keeps their polishes neatly organized on one wall, with a separate holder for all no chip colors. There are also polish swatches to look at which correspond to these colors. This is helpful, as the no chip packaging can sometimes differ slightly from what the color will actually look like. The nail techs take their time and do a great job cleaning up your nails, as well as painting on the polish to cover your entire nail. A few perks I was surprised by were scented warm towels at several stages of the manicure, a great hand massage at the end and a brief but great back massage. The pricing is fair with a regular manicure at $15 and a no chip at $30. While I have found salons that offer a regular manicure for less I believe that the extra few dollars are worth it for the experience here. I was very pleased with the service and overall experience and I look forward to returning. read more

I popped into this nail salon when I was waiting for my boyfriend to finish up at the gym. I have a regular nail place I go to, but decided to save some time. I wish I had just waited to go to my own place. The technician rushed through my nails so quickly - I think the whole process was 15 minutes max. It took her about a minute and a half to "clean up" my cuticles and skin around my nails. The color I chose was a darker color, and it's so messy and uneven, and she painted over the cuticles that she should have removed. I woke up the next morning after minimal activity, and my thumb nail was already chipped. The final straw was that it was $3 more than I usually pay, which frustrated me when seeing the quality. I have to go to my regular person today to get them cleaned up - so now I'm paying for two manicures in one week which is really, really annoying. The only reason for a 2 rating instead of a 1 was that the salon was very stylish, chic, and clean, and the employees were very nice, even if their services were subpar. I noticed other people who have rated have had consistently good experiences, so maybe there are just some technicians that are better than others here. read more

Worst experience at a nail salon honestly. I got a pedi and almost nothing besides the French tip was done, I also got my eyebrows waxed and the lady had no idea what she was doing. All were extremely nice but did not do a good job. My eyebrows were pretty much left the same after I left. Terrible work. Do not waste your money. read more
