I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this nail salon. I specifically asked for a regular polish pedicure, but instead they gave me a $55 pedicure service that I never requested and then still charged me full price for it. When I tried to explain that I only asked for the regular service, the employee started arguing with me back and forth instead of listening or trying to fix the mistake. The customer service was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I should have been charged for what I actually asked for, not something they decided to do without my permission. My daughter and I have been loyal customers here because we valued the cleanliness and kindness of the staff. Unfortunately, after our experience yesterday, we feel completely undervalued. I booked an appointment a week in advance for two pedicures and a manicure for my daughter's upcoming prom. While the pedicures were fine, the nail service was unacceptable. The technician spoke down to my daughter, telling her to "discuss pricing with her mom" as if we weren't prepared, and then flatly refused to do acrylics without any explanation. What made this worse was watching four walk-in customers receive acrylic services while we were there, all individuals who received just nail service (no pedicure) but were there far longer than my daughter and I, felt VERY RUSHED and UNDERVALUED. To top it off, the technician ground her nails down much shorter than she requested and rushed her through the process. Before payment was even rendered, he requested a tip. We paid and tipped to remain respectful in front of other clients, but my daughter left in tears feeling rushed and dismissed. I attempted to speak with the technician privately and called the salon today to resolve this, but I have received no apology or accountability. The lady that sits at the front is so selfish and rude to her customers. She rushes and then blames her inefficiencies on you. My nails were perfect before I walked in there and now will have to pay someone to remove the set and fix them. It's disgusting the way she handled herself, and was so un-apologetic. I went in to get a full set and not even a week later more than half of my nails have fallen off without any struggle. Considering I paid $75 to get my nails done I would hope they would last more than 5 days. My friend and I came here for a relaxing girl's day, but it ended up being anything but relaxing. During callus removal the woman took a large chunk of my toe with the grater-like tool, didn't say anything, and then moved onto the other foot. My toe started bleeding all over the towel and I started to look concerned, she then said "it's okay", grabbed my ankle, and stuck my foot down into the (now no longer sanitized) tub water and went back to my other foot. I stuck my toe out of the water because I was concerned, when she finally grabbed my foot out she dabbed it with a towel and proceeded to paint my nails - no alcohol, bandage, etc. Once finished she put a bandaid on and gave me an extra and rang me up - charging me full price for my mani/pedi ... I understand accidents happen, but as a business you should always do your best to make it right (and have better first aid practices). Meh. I got a normal pedicure and gel manicure. I asked for gel extensions and confirmed multiple times that they could do that and they gave me acrylics. They got the job done, but I didn't love the shape and felt like she was getting annoyed that I was asking for changes of the shape (e.g., file down, shorter, pointier, etc. nothing crazy at all). AVOID ! Especially if you're a 'tourist-visitor' & this is coming from a Local ! Prices vary depending on which day you go & what they want to Charge ! You ask for a Specific service, they agree to do that service then One extra dab of lotion, one hot towel, Not asked for, or an extra rub on the feet will cost you an extra $15-$25 ! WATCH OUT ! They're SNEAKY too because 1 person will do the majority of the pedicure then another will paint toes. Now you feel obligated to tip both people & it doesn't take 2 people to do a Pedi ! No One spoke English to me even when I asked several questions. Blank Stares. Feet look absolutely HORRIBLE ! The guy who gave me a Pedi was Rough, Rude & did a Horrible job ! He cut my right big toe twice, left big toe was cut twice & the left side of my left foot is raw from where he used a 'grater' too hard ! He had to Stop the Pedi 3 times because my toes & left side of left foot were bleeding ! Went back in the next day because I had to have my MD call in an antibiotic creme because my toes, where they were cut, swelled & became infected ! The guy said the owner wasn't in & Literally in his language was telling another guy-worker what the issue was, I suppose, & all they did was Laugh ! Seriously ?! They over charged me which ended up costing me $60 for a BASIC PEDI that was costing me $45 plus the Antibiotic Creme cost Me $87 ! I want a FULL REFUND but, funny thing is, when you ask for Anything like a Refund or a Resolution, they can't speak ENGLISH ! None! They just smile & Laugh @ YOU ! But they Certainly can understand what Service you want because they Suggest you go up a Level ! MORE MONEY ! I also understand why they PREFER CASH ! NO Records of how much you paid prior. I have records of the Cost for the past 5 months I used this Place, NOT PALACE, to PROVE they change Prices ! I was offered to have my toes repainted After explaining how SORE & Painful my toes were & showed him the DIFFERENCES in Length, Cut & how they were painted along with the injuries-cuts to my toes & foot. I came here and there was no one in there waiting. Asked for a pedi and dip, she did my dip first and RUSHED. Did it all in about 15 minutes. I did not expect her to take hours, but it was the quickest dip I ever had, and didn't get the pedicure because I would have had to wait as people started to come in -- understood but most places do dip and pedicure at the same time. When I tell you the service was amazing... it was AMAZING. When I tell you I asked for what I wanted and got it... she matched the picture to the T! Man I highly suggest going to this place. Ms Kim is hands down the best nail tech I've ever been too, she didn't take forever and didn't rush at my nails. She's knew what she was doing and understood my very poor knowledge of nails and understood what I wanted. Do not recommend. I came in to get a manicure before a wedding in Charleston and I wish that I would have just painted my own nails instead. First, the "manicure" lasted ~10 minutes. I honestly wasn't sure if I was getting a manicure because it was so short. I got a gel manicure and 4 days after I got my nails done they started chipping and peeling off. Secondly, I went and checked my bank account and they charged my account more than what I signed for. So, I will be calling them and my bank to get this straightened out. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you're on vacation because you don't need this stress when you're on vacation. read more

I don't know who did my manicure exactly. But I do know that she refused to give me the color I picked stating it was different in the bottle (it was but when she put it under the lights to cure it was the same damn color as what I wanted, when asked if I could have that color instead she simply said no and took the polish choices from me). She didn't clean all the previous color off my nail which wouldn't have bothered me if it wasn't bright red previously and I want to a light pink. She threw my hands around and yanked them to get them to her exact position. I think my manicure took a solid 15 minutes, maybe 20. A clean facility with refreshments available, however the staff on hand are not very attentive and don't seem to want to retain their customers. I am new to the area and I have been to the nail palace on three separate occasions, I received the same service each time, and I was charged different amounts every time (35-55$)!! I asked why and the man who did my service couldn't give me a valid explanation for the $20 up charge and I definitely do not look like I have 55$ nails. Likely the worst pedicure I've ever had. Came here to treat my mom and I and left more than a little disappointed. I'm pretty sure I was the first client ever for my "technician". He could not keep ahold of my toes, took a long time with a light and distracted massage, and I never received much of a hot stone massage (he couldn't keep ahold of the stones, either). In fact he dropped one of the stones on the floor and picked it up to use it again. Gross!! He apparently didn't feel comfortable painting my nails so someone else did. No top coat was applied at all. My mom told me she winced more than once because her "technician" clipped her nails and cuticles too short, and a hot towel scalded her leg. When it came time to dry our nails I was left alone to try and figure out how to turn the contraption on and no one appeared eager to take our money so we could finally leave. The man who painted my nails was plopped in a chair in the corner, staring at his phone and unconcerned with anything else. The first guy was nowhere to be found. We left paying for nail service but feel like we got had. We were there over an hour and were never offered refreshment either. The pedicure chairs were not comfortable. No one was friendly. Let me begin by saying I live in the area and regularly visit this location for manis and pedis. My guilty pleasure is a quick gel polish for a clean look and Nail Palace gets it right every time. I normally don't rate nail salons but felt I needed to after seeing the stark contrast in another Yelp user's experience here. The two ladies I regularly interact with are polite and professional. The pricing is fair and trends on average with other places in the area. The facilities are clean, comfortable and welcoming and I always leave with a great job done on my nails and eyebrows. The only reason I did not give Nail Palace five stars is because they do not have a separate room for waxing, which is a little impersonal. I've been here before, almost a year and a half ago. It's the closest place to my house but it wasn't good the first time. I had shellac done but the guy didn't let in cure long enough between coats and it bubbled the next day. Then today, I found myself in a bit of a pickle so I decided to try it out again. I will say that the man I had did a decent job at cleaning my situation up and painting pretty well BUT the whole thing was about 25 mins... The massage sucked and he was a little rude. For a mom like myself, this wasn't the relaxing nail salon trip I had hoped for but my toes do look better. My pedicure cost me $28 and I wish I could have done a manicure but he wanted to charge me $30 to replace my shellac (minus the manicure). Awful!!! There were two of us and we were there 10 minutes after they opened. We signed in and waited. One lady took my neice about 5 minutes after we arrived. As I waited two other workers walked in. One cleaned the shop and one ate her breakfast. Two other costumers walked in for pedicures. They were taken before me! When my neice was finished the lady indicated that she would do my manicure next. Instead they lost my business. My neice's nails were overpriced, but looked nice. A young girl who works hard for her money went in and treated herself to a full set of nails to the tune of 48 dollars. 7 days later, nails were lifting and the polish was cracking and coming off. I always believe in giving someone who has done a job a chance to correct the issue and so I went with her to ask for help...the woman who did the nails said " your problem...pay again...I fix" This place is a disaster!
