I am in town visiting and stopped in at my favorite nail place for a pedicure. I forgot how much I love this place!!! I walked in, asked for pedicure and they immediately took me to a chair. I saw 10 employees working! The food channel was playing on the tv and quiet music was playing. The classic pedicure is the most basic but it's amazing!! The massage and hot towel is heaven! I got a gel manicure here once and really liked the vibe of the salon. They used new tools, had a large selection of colors, and got me in quickly. The guy who did my nails was really good. The place felt very clean and it was only $35, which I felt was cheaper than most places in town. Nail Nook isn't on my side of town so I haven't been back, but I definitely would if I'm over there or close by! read more

Oof. I liked this place because it's right down the street from my house and it used to be my main go-to. But the last few times I went in I felt very uncomfortable. Like many reviews are saying, it's hard to get them to pay attention to what you're saying/what you want. Last time I went in, my requests were ignored, and soon they were trying to put acrylics on me? I said "no, I actually just wanted a gel manicure :)" and my tech called over the front desk woman and together they talked to me like I was stupid "This is GEEEELLLL. These are ACRYLICS." Like I had requested acrylics and had just changed my mind. Then they continued to talk about me in a different language off an on, which is truly where I draw the line. I almost got up and left before being worked on because my anxiety was through the roof. Unfortunately this place isn't what it used to be. Stop making your clients feel uncomfortable. read more

Had a pleasant first visit here based on the recommendation of my hairdresser. Visited on a Thursday afternoon and was able to be serviced right away. I had a decent gel pedicure from Tom. I'm happy with my toes, but the massage was a little rough. I enjoyed my gel manicure as well. I also had a lip and chin wax. I was pleased with the total price, seemed more reasonable than perhaps some other places in town. It would be nice if they offered a beverage, soft drink or wine of some sort. The establishment is very clean, and I observed all of the workers sanitary practices. They all use brand new packages of pedicure tools for each client (the way it's supposed to be). I got their basic pedicure which was $30. The lady that did mine took her time and massaged my feet for about 35 minutes! It was lovely. She painted my nails very nicely as well. However. When it came to her doing my hands- she had to remove my gel polish. She did it manually- and instead of using a machine, she used a regular nail file to remove the gel and it took FOREVER!!! Other than the whole process taking a while, (2 hours for basic pedicure and gel hands) I was pleased with the results and I may be back again. read more

I had a terrible experience there today. First I requested Tim, the front desk girl ignored me. Then she made the water for my pedicure scalding hot- never even checked it. Then I asked my nail tech if they could soak off my nails while I got my pedicure so I didn't have to waste another 1/2 hr. He ignored me so I asked if he was going to do my dip- he said he didn't know so I asked Tim if he could do it. He said sure. Then my tech through a bitch fit & the manager said "Tim has another appointment he can't do your nails". An obvious lie as I watched Tim sitting doing nothing. Insulting being lied to. Then the tech started filing the dip off my nails bc he didn't want to wait for the soak. He started filing my nails too thin & they started to burn. I then asked him to stop filing & just soak them. He through another fit got up & walked away. So he ignores me doesn't soak my nails, burns my nails & then has an attitude with me! Although Tim is Amazing & did an awesome job after the little fit thrower got up and left I will never go back. Super unprofessional and dishonest. There's plenty of other places to go. I moved to Tally a few months ago and I've been searching for a new nail place. This place makes me want to drive 2 hours outside Tally to go get my nails fixed. the lady trimmed my nails so short I'm in pain. The shapes are not the same. It was the biggest waste of money and it took forever. On top of that, I saw a Lot of disrespect towards people of color and to Those whose English is not their native language. Nail Nook is the best! I took my 4-year-old daughter here for a special "Mommy date" and they did not disappoint! They're a bit more high end than normal nail salons (seriously, the inside is gorgeous) so they didn't have a child's chair. No problem! They were so accommodating, they brought her a little pillow and made all sorts of little adjustments to make her comfortable and happy. They are the sweetest, and they did a great job on the mani/pedi, even with her weird request of "pink polish with silver sparkles." This is my new favorite salon! Incredibly attentive and tidy, they're constantly keeping the salon in tip-top shape! Their polish selection was great, and they keep their lotion in the heater with the towels which is REVOLUTIONARY! My deluxe pedicure looks fantastic, and my nail tech (who's name I believe was Niki) was especially great at avoiding some scrapes that I had on my foot and leg from where I tripped and fell the other day. So when I get in there I asked for "snow flake white" gel polish, and she started with regular polish. I caught her right before and corrected her and then she did a French tip, I did not ask for that. In the middle of my pedicure they switched to another girl. I'm assuming inexperienced because the previous one was watching over her. Once she did my last coat I asked for another layer because they were not even and I could see through my nails. She proceeded by putting oil on my feet to "fix" the dry problem and then took me over to the manicure station. I had to explain to my friend and her again that I am not satisfied with my pedicure polish. Once I finished my manicure a guy took me over to correct my toes, my manicurist told him just to do one or two and when he asked me how many I had to explain to him that I asked for an additional later on each toe. So he began drilling my polish off. Another lady, I'm assuming the owner, came to complete the job. She did great. But when it was time to checkout I became even more aggregated on top of what I already was. When I called and asked how much a mani pedi and gel polish is they told me $61, but when I checked out they told me $81 and she charged my card in the process of me trying to find that extra charge on their menu. They do good work once they finally listen to what you want but the fact that I was told one charge and charged another is completely ridiculous. Never going back. read more

I went there on Tuesday, 5/25/21 to have an eyebrow wax and a pedicure. My nail technician Amy gave me an amazing pedicure and did a great job on my eyebrows which I am extremely picky about but she did them just the way I asked her to. Their prices are very reasonable and I left there very happy. I will be going back there for sure and encourage others to give them a try. You will not be disappointed! Came here with my friend (the bride), her mom, my mom, and myself to prep for her wedding. The place is bright, clean, and large. It has a modern feel and updated chairs and foot baths. I called ahead to make an appointment, but the seemed to be able to see most walk ins in 5 mins. All of their tools are in sanitized pouches and they cleaned everything after each person. The staff was very friendly and professional. The guy that did my pedicure was very strong and really worked on the knots in my feet. Everyone was very happy with the quality of their nails. This salon is fantastic. The layout is more spacious than others nearby, and the staff is honest with you about wait times. I've had a gel manicure, pedicure, and acrylics done here. I was satisfied with all three services. Once I even came in after being unsatisfied with my acrylics from another salon, and they soaked them off and started from scratch to make sure they were done correctly. I work with the Florida Board of Cosmetology, so I am aware of safety and health issues for Nail salons. I have tried several Tallahassee nail salons, and I will return to Nail Nook. I visited for the first time recently as a walk-in. I was pleasantly greeted with a smile and a welcome by one of the technicians, and attended to quickly. They were moderately busy, but had 8 technicians at work. I opted for their top of the line pedicure. It was a lengthy pedicure with scrub, mask, moisturizers, hot stone massage, paraffin (ahh), and more. The pedicure tools were sterilized and sealed before use (thank you). My regular (and basic) OPI polish for some reason did not dry as expected, but this was quickly remedied before I left. All nail surfaces were artfully covered, with no missing edges and no messy polish on my toes. Clean and crisp. My mani request was simple, just a trim, mani, and burnish. The nails could have been burnished a little more, but they were even and smooth. An accidental painful nip at the cuticle received sincere regrets and abundant apologies. I had a nice soak, but next time will also ask for a cuticle softener. The salon is new, spacious, and clean, with calming, sometimes classical, music. I received a warm thanks and a friendly hug upon departure. As I watched the technicians, I did not see anyone who did not appear to be friendly and competent. I recommend.
