Had my first service here in December 2023 and have been back multiple times since that I've lost count! I walked in and got the best service. Made a last minute same-day appointment to come in 6 PM on a weekday. None of the other salons in tally I called were able to accommodate me, the guy that took the call made no fuss and fit me in. My nail tech Andy stayed behind just by himself to take care of my mani & pedi. I had a thumb nail that broke which Andy fixed with dip powder (his specialty). It was my first ever time getting dip and I was pretty impressed by how natural and comfortable they turned out. Andy was really fun to chat with as well. The salon itself is in a residential-style home converted into a business. It's a no-fuss kind of place but still cozy, although I can imagine it getting a little cramped during the day if they're busy. Seems like the usual clientele are college girls. I've been to Millennium nail spa once before this and I'd say I preferred Andy's work here more. read more

I made an 8am appointment from out of town for a gel mani and regular pedi. the nail tech was very professional. Obliged when I requested no efile to soak off my old gel Polish. They have OPI gel Polish which is good but no gelish (they are the best gel Polish) took away a star because they use barbicide to sanitize tools and it wasn't clear if it was a freshly opened pack of tools But everything else was good. read more

I came because my usual place was closed on Sunday. Once I expressed what it was that I wanted, I picked my color. They didn't have a lot of options, I chose yellow; but they didn't have that one as well. She went and grabbed colors she felt was close enough which all of them were different shades of orange or neon orange. I asked her for blue, which she recommended this dark color which I loved. I wasn't a huge fan of the work but the person who I had was so sweet, I feel like they have a lot of work to do. The shaping wasn't the best and I wasn't paying attention when she was working on my feet but I noticed afterwards that she cut my toe nails too short but it's okay. read more

Hmmm I'm not sure where to start with this visit .... I have frequented this establishment a few times now and today was the appointment, that convinced me to NEVER come back. And I try to never harshly criticize or judge family business.... But goodness...a few things now have happened consistently during each visit, that has drastically changed my perspective. Here are the reasons why: 1) Each time of my appointment (3) in total, NONE of the manicure tools had been sterilized nor is there a station anywhere for this. Manicure tools that where used on me where pulled from the desk and placed back in the pile for the next guest. *other places Iv visited typically have a sterilizing station or they offer you the option to purchase your own manicure file 2) the manicure station was DIRTY. And was not cleaned for the next client... each time I was sat, I was confronted with someone's leftover finger nails or crumpled up portion of used tissue on the station or overly covered in powder 3) incredibly inconsistent with practices- one manicurist will shape your nails; the next will ask you to file when you get home ..., I'm paying over a hundred for your services and I have to go home and file my own nails?! *this last visit was no exception* only on one occasion I was I asked to "wash my hands" before starting the manicure process. The removal of my old dip was painful...the manicurist used the nail sander vs allowing them to soak properly. I'm also going to post pictures of what I asked for vs what i actually got. These nails didn't even make it a week and I'm already having to go to another salon to get them re-done. I hope this establishment can update some of their sanitation practices and have staff be more consistent with application. read more

I was sold on "polygel" for my nails and decided to come here. I was told this was the only place that does it. The shop has a lot of options from various types of poly, gel, acrylics, polishes, more options than majority of the moderate salons here. But you pay for it in the service. I was only slightly happy with my nails. ONCE. My tech, apparently is popular. Not sure why. My nails were layered to think, chunky, built up and uneven each time and the tech always made excuses as to what had happened or why the nails did not look professional. He always blamed me . I'm not impressed and am glad I found that old SALON, a true place of service, offers better products AND poly. No more "I'm the only one in Tally that does Poly." A great home base nail salon with some technicians being able to do really fancy stuff

I first came into Nails La La 5 years ago when I first moved to Tallahassee, I spent my first 2 years here shopping around for the perfect nail salon. I somehow always found myself going back to Nails La La, I've been coming here consistently for the past 3 years. I love getting my nails done here not only because of the quality service, but also because of the amazing staff. Whenever I come in, I'm always greeted warmly, the technicians help me pick out colors and always give their honest input, they never hesitate to fix anything without complaints, and I truly just have the best time when I'm here. While all of the technicians are professional, qualified, friendly, and overall just a pleasure to be around, Yen will always be my #1. She goes above and beyond to satisfy my particularly high standards and we always have a great conversation while she's working her magic on my nails. This salon and it's staff are one of the things I'll miss most about Tallahassee, once I move. read more

I showed up to the salon as a walk-in at about 10 AM. The place looks kind of rickety from the outside but the inside is alright. Pulling into the lot and parking can be kind of tricky. After I walked in, I was told to pick a color and was in a seat within minutes. I got a polish change on my toes first ($10) which was done well. After this, I also got a full set with a coffin shape ($30+5). However, I had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a person to start on my nails. I was moved between 3 different people before someone actually started on my nails. Min worked on my nails and I think he did a great job. He listened to what I wanted and he delivered! read more

My nails were very clearly rushed and don't look good at all. I came for a mani and a pedi and thought I'd try a new place. The environment was very messy and I felt uncomfortable from the moment I sat down. They did my full set at the same time as my pedicure and I had to uncomfortably reach across my body for her to be able to reach both my hands. The entire time both nail techs were gossiping about their family members/ and others workers in the salon I presume. They asked me if I wanted to get loose glitter instead of glitter polish and I said if it would last til my birthday and they said it would, so I got it, not even 30 minutes after I left majority of the glitter is gone and all I did was drive home. I noticed it start to fall when I was there and asked them to fix it and it resulted in a chunky price of acrylic sticking off the top of my nail. I'm so disappointed in this service. They're chunky, messy and poorly shaped, and Crocked!! . And there's nothing but patchy glitter splotches left on the glitter nails and it's only been an hour sense I got them done. read more

After visiting a few other salons, I stumbled upon Nails La La and I refuse to get my nails done anywhere else now. I have only let Emily touch my nails since she impressed me on my first visit, but I have heard wonderful things about every other employee here too. Emily is so so sweet and does an awesome job every time! She works hard and wants to make sure you love your nails. The staff also likes to make you feel right at home when you're in their hands - an experience that just can't be found at any other nail salon in Tallahassee. I don't really consider myself a germaphobe but even I couldn't stay at this salon. We called about an hour earlier for three pedicures and they asked us to come in at 3:15. We got there right on time - it's an old house-turned-business with a dirt lot parking lot. No big deal, but my first thought was "who wants to walk in dirt after a pedicure." My sister was excited because it was a locally owned business, and we're all for supporting small businesses. When you walk in through the porch and waiting area (?), there are old couches with old pillows and blankets thrown around. Not sure something I'd like to sit in and wait. Everyone seemed to be busy so a guy greeted us from one of the manicure stations and told us to pick a color. There was dust everywhere, trash and a dog running around (what) and paint stains on everything. Everything in me was telling me to run out but I waited it out since my mom and sister didn't seem to notice. We waited another 10 minutes before someone asked us what we needed and then they led us to the next room over to sit for our pedicures. There's five crammed pedicure chairs in a tiny room with no cleaning stations that were visible. The last straw for me was the fact that the water was being ran into a pedicure tub... with no bag liner. I told my sister and mom I wasn't comfortable and walked out. My mom hung back to ask why there weren't plastic liners and the guys answer was "some people don't like them." I hate to leave such a bad review on a local business that I didn't even receive services in, but the service, uncleanliness, and overall lack of professionalism was enough for me. I've been coming here for about 3 or 4 years now. It's a small place right behind Bella Bella that looks like a little home. I have had a few services done here: pedicure, gel manicure, dip manicure, full set with gel. I have had okay service and really great service, depending on who does my nails. Andy is amazing and he is also hilarious. Some of the other techs have not had such a great attention to detail. Update: this place doesn't do it for me anymore. Last time i came in they charged me $7 to remove my old acrylics just to rip them off with another acrylic nail which was painful (I could have just done this myself - I was expecting a soak off). My new set was sloppy despite the fixes I had the tech do (as have my sets been for the past few months). My nails are often uneven and missing paint towards the edges of the nails. I've been coming back because I felt loyal to this place but I am not receiving the same quality service I did a couple years ago. read more
