Came here with to get Mom-daughter mani-pedis. The woman my daughter got seemed very sweet. My pedicurist, however, was rude and if I come back, I won't ask for her. I came to this salon under the impression that I was getting nude, coffin nails for discounted price due to my involvement in a familiar organization in Tallahassee, and my nails were $55, lumpy, unevenly filed, not shaped well, and way too short. When I told them I was unhappy with my nails, the owner told me to come back the next day and she would fix them. When I went to get them fixed, the owners acted like they didn't recognize me from less than 12 hrs before, gave me a different person to do my nails, and still charged me another $55 for my nails. At this point I gave up trying to receive nice nails from Polished, and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I don't know if I could love this place anymore. As someone who has jumped from salon to salon to compare, I think I've truly found my soulmate in Polished. Or it could just be possible that I don't want any other human giving me a pedicure other than Henry for the rest of my life. (Am I ridiculous? Yes. Do I care? Not in the slightest.) Now I may not have been as chatty with Henry as I am with anyone who services any inch of my body (and this particular instance can be blamed on graduation stress), but that didn't lessen how happy I was with my pedicure and massages. What better way to destress over graduation than that? Speaking of massages, I'm a sucker. Henry did a nice number on my calves and, according to my mom, also did some reflexology. (I guess she would know. She has it weekly.) If you don't know what it is, look it up. It is pretty damn fantastic. I'm so sad it took me so long to find Polished but I'm so glad I finally did. I started coming a few months ago, tired of the rushed, loud, and dirty salon right up the road from them. They are my absolute go to. First, they are very clean. They open new sterile packs each time they do a service (at least they always have with me) and their floors, surfaces and chairs are noticeably taken of. They have liners on the pedicure foot tubs as well. Being there is comfortable and soothing. They keep the atmosphere quieter with soothing spa music and most clients respect that vibe. Second, their polish selection is amazing. They have 5-free low chemical nail polish and matching gel. Yes, you read that correctly, 5-free GEL. No endocrine disruptors here. Bonus: not only does the nail polish really last, but the gel is very gentle on my nails. They are also very gentle and thorough in removing and applying gel polish. Third, the pedicures are great! Their chairs are comfortable and the massage options operate. I enjoy sitting in them for my pedicure. Their pricing is very reasonable for their pedicure and includes scrub. You don't have to pay extra for the scrub only to have your massaged ruined by them using it during your massage time, like at other places, at Polished they do the massage and scrub separately. They genuinely spend a good amount of time on the massage too. They have an organic pedicure as well as a steam pedicure which both have their own benefits and offer a nice variety. Fourth, their pricing. Compared to other salons of the same caliber pricing... they present a value here. They are not undervaluing themselves or their work, but they are competitive. They do have student rates as well. Their products, services, and atmosphere make them the best casual mani/pedi in town. I have completely switched and will never go anywhere else. Even if something little is not perfect on one of my visits (one time my french lines were a little thinner than I wanted, seriously nothing critical) my overall experience has been so positive compared to other places that they aren't worth mentioning. I have been living in Tallahassee for a few years and this is by far my favorite salon here. I always go to Kevin for gel nails, and he does an amazing job. My manicures actually last for more than two weeks. I have also had a pedicure with Adrian, which was amazing - he was very meticulous, and gave me a longer massage than any other nail salon I've been to. Plus, they have complimentary wine (if you ask). Lastly, to the people who were unhappy - please, please speak to the owner. The place is nice on the inside and Tim was very friendly, however, for the cost I didn't think the service lived up to it. They do have student pricing ($30 for gel polish and $25 for a spa pedicure). I'm not sure if it's because it's the student pricing that the manicure and pedicure really lacked or if it's because it isn't one of their $40+ specialty packages. My toenails were painted and looked good, but there was no real "spa" component. It was more of a quick soak your feet in the tub and get your toes painted. I've always had great experiences at Polished, but my last visit was not up to their usual standards. They have new employees and I can tell that the guy I had was not as confident in his technique. The paint job was splotchy and the pedicure itself was underwhelming. I then got my acrylics removed and my nails have been raw ever since. I'm not sure if they didn't let my nails soak long enough or if the tool was just too powerful, but my nails are visibly red and ache to touch. It has been two days and I still can't put pressure on my nails to even scratch my back without being in pain. I'm giving them three stars, because I know that the other nail techs are great but their new techs should stay in training or perfect their technique more before being passed on to customers. :( read more

I have been going here ever since I moved to Tallahassee in 2018. It is safe to say that this nail salon is the best I have ever been to in my life! Every single time I come, I receive the best service and they do my nails perfectly. Also its reasonably priced! Whether its dip, gel polish, acrylics, or normal polish, they always make it look amazing by taking their time and truly caring about your experience. I come here because all I have to do is show the employees what I want and they will come up with exactly what I ask for. They know what will look perfect with my skin color and will tailor the products so they will fit me the best. They also make sure the shape of your nails looks perfect. First of all, love the vibe. Super glitzy and has neutral sounding piano music which makes it seem very relaxing. I got Layla for my nail tech and I loved her! She's super quiet, but is really great about asking you about exactly what you want. She gave me the longest lotion massage ever, which made me almost fall asleep lol. She also had an idea to give me an accent nail, and it looked baller. Overall great workmanship on it too. But I'll have to update once I leave (lol, still here) in regards to it lasting! I was on the hunt for a new pedi and dip powder salon. I was so impressed when I found polished. You receive a real pedi- not a 15-20 min waste of time. The dip last weeks. It's clean, calming and friendly. The staff is just so very nice. They're always accommodating. I have a stressful 2 jobs and when I make the time for my standing appointments with my girlfriends its the perfect escape. It's a time to unplug and relax. This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to in my life. Not only did they overcharge me without telling me in the beginning, but I was in the salon for 3 hours because they messed up my nails that bad. It took 3 different nail techs to make my nails look decent enough to leave, and after asking the owner to completely redo them, she tried to charge me even more. She also tried to tell me what I had asked for and make excuses for how awful my nails turned out. I got an acrylic fill and asked for coffin shaped, and my nails ended up bumpy, inconsistent, way too short, crooked, and I was cut multiple times. Do not waste your money here. Just had a pedicure by Peter. I was the last to sit down and the first one finished. No foot massage, which is extra annoying when everyone else is getting one. My heels don't feel any different and he cut my nails on my right foot too short and crooked. The left toes have polish on my skin and I can still see my old polish. I think the owner took my payment and she was apologizing for him and offered to take some money off. She didn't seem surprised that I had a complaint about him. I don't understand why she would still have him employed if she knows he doesn't do a good job. read more

I used to love coming here because they do a great job and it's a clean place BUT something has to be said about Sunday's and their wait times...I called Friday and made an appt for Sunday, showed up on time for the appt and was still waiting 20 minutes later...the whole point of making an appt is so you don't have to wait a long time before the service. The girl at the front desk apologized and let me know that is just how Sundays are, they are extremely understaffed, but that's why I called and made an appt in the first place!!
