However, I got a gel french manicure for a wedding and in less than two days, half of my nails were chipped! I think she might have forgotten the gel top coat, because I've never had a gel mani chip so fast. When I called the salon, it sounded like they were happy to remedy the issue however I wanted, but then whoever runs their online account rudely told me they couldn't do anything and to stop calling the salon. I have been coming to urban nails for a while now and have only left unhappy maybe once. They have amazing prices for what they are able to do, and I left the salon today feeling like a princess with this set. I've been doing acrylics for about 3 years now because I have very small natural nails. I'm usually so picky with what nails i really like and how much I'm going to spend on them, but these look just amazing. The service is great, super chill environment, and every employee is super helpful and easy to talk to. Definitely will be my go to salon until I graduate from FSU. Ignore my red cuticles, they kind of get like that the first day but it goes away very quickly! read more

I asked how much a design would be and they told me to DM them, and when I did, I got an instant price and showed up 20 minutes later. I've always heard such good things about this salon, but I went in for a simple gel manicure and my tech did me so dirty. She didn't push my cuticles back to expose the most nail, she was checking her phone in the middle of painting my nails, and she was more preoccupied with chatting with her coworkers than my nails. The gel is patchy and uneven and there are obvious missed spots. Some techs were not wearing masks. They seem to be great to their regulars, but my tech obviously didn't care about making me one. read more

I have been here several times and made an appointment each time, yet when I walk in I am told to sit in the front and wait. I end up waiting at least 20 minutes past my appointment time, just to end up with hideous nails. I brought my friend with me before thanksgiving, and she asked for pink gel. Walking out of the salon, she had gotten a below average manicure, but at least they were pink. One week later, this is what they look like. It looks like fungus or something disgusting. As for my manicure, I got an acrylic fill in and walked out with acrylic all over my fingers and cuticles. Pieces of acrylic were hanging off my tips. Absolutely ridiculous. Never going back again. Unfortunately, this establishment is one of the most u professional I have ever dealt with. I have come 3 times; each time my nails look beautiful, but it's not worth what you put up with. Appointments are never honored, and you'll most likely be sitting waiting to be helped an hour or more after your appointment time. COVID has rendered this establishment useless. They have different hours posted on Instagram, Facebook, and Google, yet none of them are correct. I had to call 12 times in 2 hours just to speak with someone. I reserved an appointment on Facebook and was told they won't honor it because they don't check Facebook.... Are you kidding me? Don't set up a system to make appointments if you're not going to honor them. I had an extremely unpleasant phone call with Sarah. She interrupted me during every sentence and ended up raising her voice at me despite remaining calm on my end. Avoid this place if you value professionalism and decent human respect. UPDATE: just received a call back from the owner/manager regarding what I experienced and was hung up on. I am absolutely stunned by the way this business is being ran. I've been going to see Doug for a while now and he always does an awesome job. I've been getting gel polish on my natural nail and have not had any issues. On the off chance that the polish lifts a little bit (only happened twice out of maybe 20+ times), they are more than happy to fix it for free. I have had polish last for 5-6 weeks with no lifting. He always makes sure to ask if I like it every step of the way, from my cuticles, to the shape, to the polish and even again before I leave. I think the pricing is great as well. Terrible experience... I'm appalled by the good reviews. I went in for an acrylic full set & a pedicure. Nothing crazy, yet I was at the salon for 3 and a half hours. I wasted my day on sub par service. My nails came out terrible -- it seemed like it was the first time my nail tech has done acrylics. Filing my nails took him about an hour to get the shape done. I mean this guy had no idea how to file and create a shape, I could've done a better job doing it myself. All my nails are a different length and uneven. I asked for a sharp coffin shape and I got a clumpy square shape on each nail. I can't emphasize enough how bad this guy was at doing nails. I'm going out of town tomorrow and I'm just extremely disappointed. My toes came out fine, but the pedicure service was sub par as well, compared to other salons in town. It was not a relaxing experience at all. I've heard great things about Urban Nails and I'm so disappointed with the entire experience. At the end of the service I didn't bother telling my nail tech about the things I would like fixed -- he took so long to complete my nails that by the time he was done, I was ready to get OUT OF THERE! I called to make an appointment and told them two different times. They told me to come at the earlier time, which I not only did but I showed up 15 minutes early. When I showed up for my appointment there was a long line and I was told to wash my hands and pick a color. I was not told how long the wait would be but I decided to stay. I usually don't leave reviews for stuff but my experience here was not good. I came as a walk in. I came to get a pedicure w/ a full set of SNS w/ tips. T's/Tee's brother was supposed to do my nails but was working on a car outside and had me waiting about 30 minutes before he started. I didn't mind waiting because I was a walk-in but even the other nail techs told him that he took too long!! Then he made a racially insensitive/stereotype "joke" (he stained my finger tips BADLY with the white dip powder and said I "ate some fried chicken beforehand" so that was why they were white...). In reality, he just didn't wipe off the powder between each dip. He left halfway through my nails and had his sister T/Tee finish. T/Tee told him that my finger tips were too stained. Nails didn't even look good after two days... My pointer finger nail on my right hand broke less than 24 hours after getting them done. I definitely wouldn't recommend. They don't even put liners in the tubs while doing pedicures...that's not sanitary...I paid $100 ($75 + tip (tip is split between three people)) for broken nails after a day...The rest of my nails broke or cracked the next week. Don't go here if you want long lasting nails and a hygienic pedicure...You won't get it at Urban Nails. read more
