They made such a drama scene when I calmly and respectfully asked for a refund. Then after soaking off my nails they changed up and said "we can't give u a refund" Thank goodness a bystander spoke up and said it wasn't right, so they gave me a refund. Ok so I actually found out on the day of my appointment with Elly Tran (whom I found on IG and had an appointment with from a month ago) that she works at this place. She doesn't show the address on her page. When I finally found out this where she works, I looked up the location. I saw so many bad reviews about this business treating customers poorly but Elly didn't seem this way on her IG. So I kept the appointment. BIG MISTAKE! I came from out of state for a mani/pedi with Elly. Unfortunately, I never met her. I came here on a Tuesday during my lunch break since I work close by. They were able to get me right in. The prices aren't too bad, however if you want to add gel polish it's an additional $20, which I think is a complete ripoff; but, I can say that this was a great nail shop. It was nice and clean, they were friendly and Lauren did an amazing job on my feet! I got the deluxe pedicure which was $35, but came out to $55 with gel (which is why I say this is a ripoff). Lauren did an excellent job on my feet, she is great with the massage portion as well, because I've noticed that a lot of shops have gotten away from really massaging like they say! Now that I have graduated I am ready to share my biggest secret, favorite nail spot, and best nail tech. NIKKI is the BEST nail tech HANDS DOWN. I trust her with absolutely everything. I would travel miles and miles just to see her. She made sure every time that my nails were exactly how I wanted them. Design, shape, type she does it all and makes sure you're happy. I never left the salon disappointed when I went to her. She's extremely busy but if you can find a way to squeeze yourself into a slot please do it. I love love love her. I had a big dip phase and she would do the dip and paint over in gel if that's what I wanted. I switched to acrylic per her recommendations and they came out more perfect than ever. This was the worst service I've ever received at a nail salon. I came for a pedicure and Initially when I asked how much it'll be to add acrylic overlay on two big toes the gentleman told me $14. However, the lady shouted $25 (which is ridiculous) and a red flag. They obviously paired me with someone who was new bc he had no clue on what he was doing. Today was my first time visiting Villa Nail Spa and I'm was very pleased with my experience. I usually go to another nail salon in Tallahassee, but my nail tech couldn't fit me her schedule this week. The salon itself is really pretty and spacious. They have plenty of gel colors to choose from (regular colors and glitters). I made an appointment and when I arrived, my nail tech was ready for me. Additionally, the prices for services are listed at the front counter. My nail tech's name was Ely and she did an amazing job. I got an acrylic fill in with gel polish and a nail shape change from almond to coffin. My total was $40 (I was charged an additional $5 to change the shape), which is average price for what I get in Tallahassee. Ely was very quick, thorough, and friendly. She checked with me along the way to make sure I liked the shape and polish color. The only negative I could possibly think of is their UV lights (or whatever you call the thing that dries gel polish) are kind of small, so I had to be super careful when putting my hand inside. Other than that, everything was perfect! I will definitely be coming back and I'll be trying their pedicures. read more

I have been a long time customer of this Nail salon and it is so disheartening to say that this will probably be my last visit. The quality in nails that I have been receiving these past few sets have been so disappointing (I usually get dip and they have been breaking/cracking, falling off, lumpy, uneven tips, glitter in the dip topcoat (ruining the set because most of the nails have glitter specs), etc.) the glittered specs really solidified it due to my bringing it up to the woman who checked me out and saying "I'm sorry, you can't really see it though." Not offering to fix the nails which is so frustrating. I have tried giving them benefit of the doubt when I come back each time but I just leave disappointed, having issues with my nails, and wishing I went to a different salon. Visited this salon for the first time after hearing about it from a friend. I walked in for a mani-pedi around noon on a Friday. I was greeted when I first came in and didn't have to wait long before being helped. The pedicure was very relaxing and Miss Tammy was very gentle but also attentive. My feet and calves haven't felt better! Miss Elly took care of me for my gel manicure and she was also lovely, I told her the kind of color I was looking for and she found me a perfect match! The place itself is also very clean and well kept, decor and atmosphere are both inviting and tranquil. This had to be the worst experience ive had with a nail shop. I had asked for a similar look to the blue nails but in black. I was seated with one of the guys and he just starts doing ALL ombre nails, i kindly told him (like i had stated before I wanted my nails to look similar to the picture but in black) he looks annoyed and one of the other girls steps in and says she can do it... fast forward she is filing the nails down and i ask her if the way the ombre looked was how it was going to be and she said yes so i KINDLY asked if she could blend it more LIKE THE PICTURE so she does the pinky nicely and then just starts rushing hence why now the nails look all uneven, unblended, and messy. At this point im tired of asking for a redo(2 times) that i just take them. When im getting ready to pay(65) the first guy is ringing me up and i tell him im only paying 55 because of how they look. He starts getting rude with me and tells me to not come back anymore. I tell him thats fine and he continues to yell that at me (a pregnant woman) as i walk out the door at this point i come back and ask for a full refund bc A) customer service is terrible and B) these nails look awful. He proceeds to yell at me and refuses to give me my Money back! Finally the nail tech who did my nails gave me some of my money back and im walking out and this MAN is still yelling at me. Visited there today for the first time after hearing about the place from a coworker. He said that they had a really nice and luxe setup. Villa definitely didn't disappoint! I walked in, and despite them having a decent crowd, I was greeted immediately and sat at a table for my gel manicure. They seem to be adequately staffed because there were about 10 or so people inside getting various services prior to me walking in. The options for gel colors are great and they do have the matching toe polish for those who care (like myself). My gel manicure was done great, no nicks to the skin or cuticle. My pedicure was awesome as well. Their massage chairs seem to be more roomy than the average, which was nice. They offered me something to drink and took really great care of me here. I visited the Villa Nail Spa for the first time yesterday. The lady that worked on my nails did a good job, but the atmosphere in that place was oppressive. The staff was unfriendly, especially my nail technician and the male manager. I don't know if it was a language barrier or a racial or cultural issue, but something was off. When the store manager told the technician to do my nails, she frowned and said something to him that I could not understand. She remained silent the entire time she worked on my nails except when she had a question about my nail color. So, she could speak English, but I'm not sure how much. When I tried to initiate a conversation with her because I noticed we had the same shirt on, I was met with complete silence. So, I looked around the business several times to see how the other customers were treated. It seemed everyone else was receiving the same type of treatment regardless of their race. However, the store manager (owner?) was unfriendly too. He paced up and down the aisle, monitoring the nail technicians the entire time, especially the lady working on my daughter's nails. When my nails were finished, I sat in the front of the store, the farthest away from the racks of nail polish on display, so I would not be accused of stealing. When the manager realized I had not left the store, he plopped down on the seat next to me and sighed loudly. I was waiting for my daughter, and he knew it. So, if you don't mind having your nails done in a hostile environment, the Villa Nail Spa is the right place for you. I don't know about you, but if I refuse to patronize a business that treats me like I don't exist, I'm less than or racially profiles me. I want to enjoy the experience, which is why I no longer visit the privately owned beauty supply stores around town, and my daughter and I will never revisit this establishment. What bothered me is as I read through the various comments left on this Google Review, most people who were dissatisfied with their experience at this spa mentioned that they continue to visit this establishment. WHY??? There are other nail spas in Tallahassee. Why patronize a business that treats you poorly or that has jacked up your nails?
