I don't get manicures or pedicures often, but every now and then, I can be convinced to get my nails did. My friend wanted to catch up while I was in town for the weekend over pedi's, and I couldn't say no. This salon is walking distance from my parents' home, which rarely happens in the suburbs of Tallahassee. Nail 2000 is in the quiet plaza next door to Nuberri off of Kerry Forest. It's just another unassuming nail salon in an unassuming plaza. Even so, the quiet salon stood at full attention as we picked our nail colors. By the way, how old were those nail polishes? Because many were coated in dust and some colors were changing in a way that old nail polishes do. Ick. We were seated in the massage chairs and got the usual pedicure treatment as we basked in the knot-loosening massage chairs. The ladies doing our nails were friendly, but didn't bother us when we were talking to each other. The pedicures themselves were pretty nice. My lady did a good job cleaning up ragged cuticles and shaping my toenails, which is always a struggle for me. Overall, Nail 2000 does a quick and cheap job. great price but I guess you get what you pay for I had gotten a pedicure here about a week and a half ago two days after I got the gel pedicure the nail polish came off on one of the toes mind you it's gel so it should be lasting at least two weeks or more usually when I get gel they last me about a month however I've never been to this place till now I went back and they fixed the polish and redid it on that nail, but I had went out of town and three more of the nail polish just came off. I love the price, but unfortunately I don't have time to keep going back to a nail facility if the polish is not gonna last. read more

I have loved coming to this salon. I have always been treated with respect and kindness. Today, not a good experience. I felt ignored by the tech (the owner or manager-the person in charge. She was not concerned about providing excellent customer service- She was focused on EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER who came in after I did. Came back here for a second time. They didn't listen to my daughter's request to do her nails a certain shape and color and the guy manicuring my nails cut me when taking off my cuticle. It was still bleeding later that evening. I asked to have my nails evened out and they were cut much lower (saddened me because they had gotten long). The updates to the shop look nice, but I wish they would listen to customer requests more. i always call before going in just because that's how your supposed to do it , instead of going in and being mad you have to wait. they always squeeze me in and give me a time to come in that is convenient for me , all the staff is welcoming and they carry the conversation all the time and i like that because i can kind of vent there , my nails stay on so long and i love that and they look good , plus i just get the classic french tip on my toes and hands with gel and it comes up to 80 dollars which isn't bad at all. i recommend for a easy and cute mani and pedi. no lifting still and it's been 2 weeks. read more

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!!!! My sister called ahead (she's a regular) they asked us to come in an hour and half later bc they were busy. We specifically asked for a technician with experience doing in grown toe nails. When we got there they started working on my sisters pedicure immediately. They completed her entire pedicure before anyone came to help me. The gentleman who helped me was polite at first. Anyone who had ingrowns and spends countless hours in a nail salon a month know EXACTLY how it should be done. Well this guy decides to just cut the corners of my toe nail, forget the whole ingrown. That's not the whole reason I'm here in the first place. I asked to wait for the owner to complete my pedi (she did my sisters and I watched her do it correctly). She came over and apologized and agreed that he done the process incorrectly and because he had done it incorrectly she was now not able to pull the ingrowns out. I tried to leave. They said I would still have to pay full price so I chose to stay and let them pick the dead skin off my feet at minimum. The foot race broke four times. I have been to this nail salon many times due to their customer service and the quality of pedicures I've received. Today's experience was terrible. My entire pedicure, which usually lasts 45-55 minutes lasted 25 minutes. The woman who did mine got lotion all over my capris, even though they were rolled up above my knees. The quality of my pedicure was extremely poor. Additionally I always have my nails buffed and there was barely any shine on them. She literally buffed my toes in 3 minutes. And the skin on top of my nail beds was not pushed back on most toes. The WORST manicure ever!!! DO NOT go here. They did not soak my hands for very long. No cuticle lotion was used. I specifically came in for my cuticles. I don't know what she did, but I have more hang nails and cuticle damage than before I came in. I had a tip ready to go but did not leave it because of the bad job. I had to ask to have my nails filed with the fine side to get rid of the fibers. I had to ASK for that. One coat of clear and she walked off to other customers. read more

Is this a fresh manicure or does it look like its two weeks old and painted by my six year old granddaughter? I thought I'd try Nail 2000 but I should have walked out when a fly started buzzing around my head. You don't want to know what I paid. It took three hours for a mani/pedi with gel. I had to tell the woman to clean up my nails and this is what I got. It looks like it was done over a week ago, smudges and glops. Nail polish on my fingers, and my tips not polished. I have to say I'm not sure how clean everything was. AND, my hands feel like sandpaper. The owner said I could come back and his wife would do it over, but there is no way I'm going back there. OVERPRICED AND RUDE. Any stereotypes you've heard about nail salons are proven true by this place. 1. They are nosy about your life. 2. They try and get you to pay more. 3. They talk ish about you in vietnamese when they don't think you understand. 4. Like 2 people there speak clear English. Experience 1: I personally just want gel polish. I don't see the need to get a full manicure when I go every 2 weeks and I don't like the lotion massage. From the beginning I walk in and make it crystal clear I JUST WANT PAINT. When the lady started cutting my cuticles (who barely spoke english) I told her I JUST want paint she smiled and continued. When it came to the massage I was like NO just paint. That confused her. And when I went to pay they tried to charge me for a full manicure which was a $20 difference not including tip. Some man intervened and I only paid for my polish so that was great. Experience 2: I came in for a gel polish change. Again JUST PAINT. You could tell that annoyed them and I had brought in stickers I wanted to use. So I wait AT LEAST 40 minutes for someone to take my gel nails off. Then to my disappointment, the stickers were transparent and SHE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO CUT AND PEEL THEM...even though they came with instructions. So instead she made me peel and cut them while my nails were wet because she didnt gel cure them properly. It was a mess BUT I GOT IT OFF. She then offered to paint WHITE OVER MY DARK GREY nails to make the stickers pop...I shouldn't have said okay. It looked AWFUL. All the while I'm apologizing and thanking her for her patience and even offered to pay more! Then I ask to see her stickers and settle on white stripe stickers. She puts the "white" stripe on my blue nail and IT WAS TRANSPARENT. So I ask her to use the red stripes instead. NOT MY FAULT IT'S NOT SOLID WHITE. Frustrated, she decides to go off out of nowhere and she says "I NEVER TAKE 2 HOURS FOR A POLISH CHANGE. AND I AM SUPER PATIENT WITH MY CUSTOMERS" I was shocked..so I said are you going to finish them? She didn't answer. Instead says YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND TOO MUCH Mind you the salon was EMPTY So I calmly told her I'm sorry the stickers didnt work out but you took 40 minutes to take off my gel at least, and your sticker was not white. I didnt change my mind. It just didn't work out. After that I had it. The nails had OBVIOUS BEGINNER MISTAKES and just looked STRAIGHT UGLY. So I left. In the middle of her less than mediocre work I paid and left, nails still wet from her inexperience gel curing. I TOOK MY BUSINESS TO NY NAILS IN THE PUBLIX PLAZA ON NORTH THOMASVILLE RD AND THEY DID MY NAILS GREAT! NO PROBLEMS! read more

Lovely salon BUT my pedicure was haphazard and rushed. I was upgraded to a deluxe pedi without them asking. One toe is half painted. My technician was handling 3 clients at once. Both were gentle and thorough, and my nails look and feel great. Application smooth and even, and cuticles very soft. $63 plus $12 tip. I will return and recommend. read more
