Went to get a full set of gel nails with a chrome polish. Left with a set of acrylic and gel polish. The tech recommended this, he stated that the chrome wouldn't look very nice after about a week. I've been going here consistently for a year and I'm extremely pleased. The best pedicure in town hands down!!!! I had been trying to find a reasonably priced nail salon that have great customer service and cared about nail health. My past nail technician passed away so I had been on the hunt for literally almost 4 years. At one point I had given up and decided to start doing my own nails LOL (that wasn't my strong point.) Great prices and superb talent. I get a thin layer of acrylic to keep my long nails strong and then a gel top coat. Fills are only $35 and these nails are nearly indestructible. No chips or peels at all. I have to get them refilled every 2-3 weeks just because of new growth, but unlike dip nails, I can choose a new gel color every time and they don't have to pull all the acrylic off my nail. If I could give less than one star I would. This place not only SCREWED UP my full set but they also operate completely against health code. Let's start on the nails, see pic attached. They MURDERED my cuticles, didn't put acrylic all the way up to my cuticles, and gave me a horrible paint job. It's been 7 days and I've had them repainted, 2 replaced because they fell off, and now am needing to already have them filled. Now let's get to the implements. Nothing was sanitized, there was nail dust EVERYWHERE on the station and the drills were in an altoids container filled with nail debri. They reused all the materials they used on me on another client DURING my manicure then proceeded to use them on my husbands hands all without sanitizing or disposing. The files, pumice, and buffers were all used before me, during, and after without disposal. I don't care if he didn't say a word to me my entire time there, this is strictly A NAIL AND SANITARY REVIEW. As a cosmetologist who studied nails and the laws behind running salons, STAY FAR AWAY. 2 days ago I really really wanted to love this place. Beautiful interior, complimentary drink, seem not overly busy My type of place. My first experience I went it around 7:20pm. When I sat down. He said he almost refused to serve me because they closed at 7:30pm, but he seen I was a new customer. In my mind I was like I know he just didn't say he was going to refuse to serve me. I let that slid, then I told him the internet says they close at 8pm. I told him I wanted pink and white. The guy said oh we out of the white powder. Who runs out of white powder?? He just did not want to do them because they take a while. So I let that's slide and went for the traditional French tip. So I decided to go back to get my pink and white. I told him I wanted pink and white. Then he gonna say you want a fill. I was like no full set pink and white. I showed him a pic of how I had then done before. Then he say oh that's just pink color polish or whatever. I'm like no it's pink powder. This when I really confirmed he try's to get you to get what HE feels like doing. That was just the beginning. When we both agreed on how it would be done with the pink powder and white gel. He gave me the price. I said ok. Half way through he had to leave so him and I guess his wife switched. The she comes filling down all crazy. She then says the painted white was regular not gel. I told he NO that's not what me and the guy agreed on. I told he to call him she did and he going to tell he it was not gel requested. So I was furious at that point because he Lied, she knew he was lying and it was just a set up to get more money from the price quoted maybe do to his mistake in calculating it. Not to mention I got cut a few time with the drill, so I ask her how long she been doing nails, no response. I have NEVER EVER experienced service like this at any nail shop EVER in my life. Review based on acrylic full set/fills and pedicure services-- Time and time again I have been asked where I get my nails done and each time I recommend Lee Nails, I feel like their services get even better. Over the past few years I have seen them add new flat screen televisions, an entire additional wall of polish selections, beautiful new wall dressings, an iPad at sign-in and laptops at the pedicure chairs for use during your service. I have never seen a broken piece of equipment, dirty tool or unsatisfied customer here. I can see my money being filtered right back in to making their salon better--how often can you say that about a business? The atmosphere is like that of a spa, not a nail salon. Peaceful fountains and Asian wall decor bring a peace to the room while new technology keeps you aware that it's 2011. Free drink (beer, wine, soda or water) with every service as well--at no additional charge! I'm very particular about my acrylics, and they rise to every request. I get fills every 2-3 weeks, and have had multiple (multiple) cracks and breaks in the interim--always fixed up perfectly. The techs advise me on when it appears best for me to replace my full set, but have never been pushy or advised me to replace them too early (as many place do for more $$). Pedicure service is insanely relaxing and they have a foot masque option for $5 that is completely worth it. Hot towels, VERY good massages (because that's why we really pay for pedicures, anyway), and a glass of wine to seal the deal. I have brought more than 10 of my personal friends here over the past three years, and will be a loyal customer until I leave Tallahassee. Only 3 workers and 5 people waiting. I only downsized to just have eyebrows done. Hopefully I can leave and come back in an hour to still have my place. Not impressed. I get gel overlay on my nails. Not gel polish, not acrylic overlay- GEL overlay. Any nail professional should be familiar with this. I called this place and asked if they did this service and they said yes. So I was in Tally and needed to get my nails fixed up so I decided to go here based onthe revues (all 5 star- which seems crazy). The comments on the interior are correct. The decor is definitely a step above most strip mall nail places. And they have all kinds of fancy technology- even laptops at each pedicure station so you can surf the web. But is that really what you are looking for in a nail salon? I decided to go with a pedicure, nail services, and an eyebrow wax. The pedicure was "decent", although very quick- probably about 15-20 minutes for the whole thing. The leg massage lasted all of 3 minutes per leg. I could not get the massage chair to work and he did not care in the slightest that I was struggling with it the whole time and finally gave up. However I have to say he did a good job on the toes themselves, so that is why they get 2 stars instead of 1. Then we went over to fix up my gels. Well I showed him that they were pulling up a little at the base, and while he was originally going to just do a fill he said that he was going to have to pop them all off and do a full set. Grrr....... OK, fine. So he pops off all my nails and then pulls out the acrylic powder. I looked at it and said- Is that acrylic? He said yes- it will damage your nails a little bit more. I asked him where the tub of gel was and he informed me that they don't have that there. I stared at him and he said they had gel POLISH. I said forget it- just give me a regular french manicure and we will call it good. He said "French?" and I said "yes, French." So he gives me the manicure and then asks me do I want a color or just clear pink? I said clear pink since I assumed he could remember from 5 minutes earlier that I wanted a french manicure- and isn't a french always clear pink?? So he proceeds to paint 2 coats of clear pink on my nails and then gather up all my stuff and takes me into the wax room. No base coat, no top coat. This was yesterday and the polish is already starting to peel up around the corners. The waxing job was not as good as my usual place, but at least I don't have squirrels tails on my face anymore. I was disappointed with the services I received here. I felt that my technician was unfriendly from the beginning and I was not comfortable the whole time. I was upset that they told me they had a service that they did not and he even charged me for the removal after he was unable to replace them!! I would not return to this nail salon. read more

David is the best!! Even though I didn't have an appointment, they saw me immediately. David and his wife were so nice. You can tell they care a lot about the customers and their nails. Also, it was only $26 for a full set?! You can't beat that price (which also includes a refreshment!) I also got my eyebrows done and they look so good. As other reviewers have mentioned, the location can be off-putting and from outside it looks like nothing - but that can be said of many Tallahassee businesses. I dug deep for my courage and walked past the horrible facade into a great spa experience. Water fountains, plants, spa tunes playing gently in the background, fresh flowers and modern stations - who knew?! Yes, the decor is a bit much, but who cares? The facility is beyond CLEAN and the iPad screens at the pedicure stations are a fun bonus. Don't plan to go online? No problem, watch one of the many plasma screen tvs around the place. Don't forget to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, soda, ice, etc as you get a massage in some of the most modern massage chairs I've ever seen in any spa (never mind a strip mall nail salon). The opi color selections are extensive and they also had a bin of summer polishes on sale (4 for $10) the day I visited. The pedicure lasted 45 minutes and was great. They use fresh lime on your cuticles and then a sugar scrub to remove dead skin and soften your skin. After a leg massage, they spray you with a delicious vanilla oil which I wish I had asked the name of! I get basic manicures (no gels or fakes) so I can't attest to those, but I'd definitely return if I come back to the area. read more

$40 gel manicure that's sloppy. Technician cut cuticles and one bled. He painted over the blood and told me it would wash off. How's that going to happen? Area below the finger nail is now all red and puffy. Went back and asked them to fix the 7 sloppy nails. A women who works there told me it's better that the polish pops up over your nail bed because the manicure lasts longer. I have had plenty of neat gel manicures to know better than that. So instead of fixing the manicure they just made it worse by attempting to file down the polish. A waste of $40 and an hour of my time. Find somewhere else to go. read more

i am so disappointed with the customer service of this place. i came in for a typical french tip set and 8/10 of the nails are not properly on the nail. i have gotten my nails done SO many times before and have never had this problem. i came back in the next day to ask for a refund as i was not happy with the service that i received and they informed me that it was MY nails that caused this to happen and that i was wrong as well as not giving me a refund due to their 'policy'. i will NEVER be back and will inform all of my friends as well. pathetic read more

So Relaxing!!! This is not my regular shop. I pulled over because one of my nails broke. I was a little worried because the outside looks past its prime. I took a peek inside and it was like an oasis... bubbling fountains, flowers, cool air, soft music, flat screen tvs, pastel colors, comfy chairs and iPads at every pedicure station. I signed in on an iPad and received an excellent pedicure from a very skilled nail tech who sprayed a vanilla scent at the end. The French design was very neat. Lee's Nails actually has bowl liners in the pedicure station and the techs cleaned as they worked. There was no clutter, dust or debris anywhere. What a plus! I also received a very nice gel manicure. The total bill was $65, which was worth it because it is clean, calm, relaxing and they offer you a free drink. This was a wonderful surprise and I will definitely return. :) read more

I called ahead and asked what the price was on painting a child's nails, they said 5$. I brought my daughter in within the hour during our mother daughter outing. They were slow and had only 2 customers and told us the wait would be 30 min. So we waited 45 minutes and she looked at me and said tell the baby to get in this seat (my daughter is 7 and was well behaved). So my daughter sat down, she then started with the negative attitude and stated her nail polish will chip in a day or so and said that it will not be redone by them before she started. I said that's fine. She rushed so fast it literally took her a whole 2 minutes to do my daughters nails and she then asked me for 10$ and it said on the sign in the salon $5 also. What a rip. Her nails looked as if a two year old did them and the whole 2 minutes doing my daughters nails she didn't say one word to her, instead she talked in whatever language they speak to the other guy working. Yesterday was my first time going and I went because of the Google reviews I saw. I must say I was IMPRESSED! From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you step inside, it's a palace! I was blown away by the decor and how nice it was (which is rare for most nail salons in Tallahassee). They literally have an iPad at every pedicure station AND offer complimentary wine! I was serviced almost immediately! I went in for a pedicure, full set, and eyebrow wax and I was pleased with everything (To my surprise, my total was $60 which is not bad for everything I received)! Even the bathroom is nice! If you want to just have a relaxing, calm, quiet experience, give this place a try! I have been to the same nail shop since my freshman year of college (in grad school now) and Lee Nails has won me over (Bye, bye Fine Nails! LOL!). The ONLY reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the young lady who did my pedicure seemed a bit aggravated and her attitude came off as if she really didn't want to do my pedicure or interact/have conversation when I asked her questions. The second fill I had done looked better but I had two nails break the day after which I was not happy about. The atmosphere is nice, they have ipads at the pedicure chairs. However, if you go in the afternoon their kids are probably wondering around and that could be irritating for some customers. They have good specials Monday-Wednesday but I probably will not return after having to unsatisfied fill experiences. read more
