It is a week later and my nails still look good - so her products and the work she does are excellent. She only charged me $60 - which I later realized was a bargain - and I am hoping I gave her a significant tip to balance out the generosity of her service. Do not hesitate to make an appointment. I have seen her more artistic expressions on the nails of several of my friends - and they are tiny, detailed miracles painted with painstaking attention. I showed the guy my inspo pics and asked if it was going to be okay, and he mockingly said, "they're your nails" I thought he was joking and being funny but throughout the service I kept feeling burning and pain from the drill, I have a high pain tolerance but it was getting excessive. He would dig the drill bit into my cuticles and I have several cuts. He'd do it and then look up and ask, "you okay?" And then do it again! I think he over filed my natural nail so all of the heat reaction of the products was burning really bad, i mentioned it was really burning my thumb and he laughed at me. He was overall just really aggressive with my hands, I was trying to keep them relaxed but no matter what he just seemed really annoyed by me. The final result of my nails is not what I asked for but I didn't want to be rude and just told him they look awesome, he then mockingly repeated "awesome" at me and walked away. My friends nails who were done right next to me turned out great, the guy was gentle with her hands, she doesn't have any cuts, her nails look good, bottoms filed and clean. Even my friend noticed how the guy was behaving towards me and instantly started talking about it once we walked out. Overall I'm really sad with my experience, I was hoping this salon would become my regular but if this is how they treat their customers I'm not interested. I don't know if this behavior was because of the color of my hair or he was having a bad day but I don't think it was fair to treat me that way when I'm spending $160.00 on my service, I still tipped $20.00 but I will not be coming back and will not recommend. I broke my leg in November and so I knew getting a pedi might be difficult. The massage chairs that most other places don't give me enough leg room and I wouldn't be able to stretch my leg out without putting pressure on it, which I can't have. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to hop up onto the bench that they have at Polished, but I did and I was way more comfortable sitting up there than in any massage chair at any other salon! Mary did my mani/pedi and I can't rave about her enough. This was the first time I've ever had a mani/pedi at a nail salon where I didn't feel rushed out of there. I've frequently left places and had my nails smudge from being rushed, but Mary took her time with me and did an immaculate job. I absolutely love my nails! I wish I had gotten the name of the girl who did my mom's because she was super happy with hers too. After such a great experience, I've definitely found my new favourite nail salon!!!
