This is the cleanest, nicest place to have your nails done in Lawrence. You must have an appointment though. Anne and Joe are fantastic!

The shop at this location now is Elite Nails. Its phone number is 785-551-7277. I only get a basic pedicure without polish, so I cannot comment on anything more elaborate. In addition, this is not normally where I go for a pedicure. I go to a different shop that has only one nail tech and requires appointments. That works for me, since I prefer not to have to wait when I arrive. But unfortunate my usual nail tech had to cancel today, since she had tested positive for Covid. Elite Nails is a large Vietnamese shop with a lot of nail techs, so I knew I could get a pedicure there without an appointment. There was a wait when I arrived. But when a nail tech got to me, I had a very positive impression of her work. When my usual nail tech recovers from Covid, I will return to her shop. But if I ever again needed a pedicure without an appointment, I would not hesitate to return to Elite Nails. read more

This is now called Elite Nails. Service is spotty. Sometimes fine. Sometimes rude. They grated the skin off my fingers and caused 2 of them to bleed because they failed to pay attention to what they were doing. They don't keep promises re appointments. But sometimes they've been ok. I keep giving them another chance... but I think I won't anymore. read more

Now called Elite Nails - This was the worst "manicure" I've ever had. I walked in first thing in the morning with one other customer in there and asked for a manicure with dip powder. She filed my nails then started on the powder. She didn't shape my nails at all like I asked and didn't trim or shape any of my cuticles, or the skin around my nails (I'm a nurse so my hands are super dry from constantly washing them and using sanitizer). She left bright pink dip powder all over the sides of my fingers and on the pads of my fingers, then said "sorry the top coat is wrinkled. You're done." Do not recommend this place at all. read more

I've been going to Anne and Joe for years, following them from their previous location. The shop is always clean. They use prepackaged sterilized tools with each customer. Most of the customers who come in are greeted by name. The polish is fresh. My nails always look perfect when I leave. It is by appointment only so if you have an appointment, you can know they will be ready to start when you get there rather than having to wait on a walk-in finishing up. It's not the cheapest place in town, but it is worth it. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They use MMA! I walked in for a full set and they were the worst nails I've ever received. The lady couldn't do the design I wanted so I was already irritated considering it was a easy design. I payed $80 for a basic back French tip, that's insane. I later booked an appointment with my actual nail tech in Topeka and she informed me they used mma for my set, which is highly illegal. read more

I am not a "leave a review on Yelp" kind of person, but I am so infuriated by the treatment my mother and I just received that I had to post. Mom and I wanted to get manicures and pedicures today. No big deal, right? But because of recent health issues -- cancer treatment and its aftermath -- my mom has a toe fungus. Her doctor said pedicures are fine, but we wanted to call ahead to a salon to make sure. She called this salon, explained the situation, then hung up in tears when the attendant told her if she came in she might "scare other customers." I called back and asked to speak to the manager. After explaining the situation -- including that my mother is a cancer survivor and just wanted a pedicure to feel like herself again -- and how rudely she was treated, all the manager said was "I'll pass that along" and hung up on me. I am astounded that anyone would treat someone like this, potential customer or not. We will never be frequenting this salon. read more

I love Nail Essentials! They do great work and I've been pleased every time! They will even do a touch up if I smudge once I leave. During the pandemic, masks are required and they have each work space partitioned off. It is very clean and I feel very comfortable making an appointment. read more

Annie and Joe have been doing my nails for years! They are the best in Lawrence! I do regular polish and see them 4-5 times a year. I have tried other places, but nothing compares to their treatment of the customer. read more

i do not recommend this place. one, this place is called Elite Nails. two, they're pricey and it's not at all worth it. i went in on a weekend and asked if they took walk ins or if i needed to make an appointment and the lady ended up scheduling me and my mother the same day which i first thought was nice. as soon as we arrived we walked in, we got there early, and the place was crowded. everything was all over the place. it was cluttered and not at all professional. when i told the lady i had an appointment she made it seem like she had no idea what i was talking about and then asked what my mother and i wanted when i had already said we were there to get acrylic nails. she then rushed us around while we were still looking at the colors and continued to keep asking what we wanted. once we got in our chairs i thought everything would start to look up but as the guy was doing my nails i noticed he wasn't doing anything with my cuticles. he then put a decent sized gap between my cuticle and my nail. i also asked for an almond shape and he ended up making them way too sharp and crooked so i filed them down as soon as i got home. once my mother was done she said the lady that did her nails was rude and once she got a new customer in her chair she immediately began praising her who my mother assumed was a regular. with my mothers nails she said the lady cut them at a good length but as soon as she started filing them she ended up making them a lot more shorter than my mother wanted, to the point where it doesn't look like she got her nails done at all. i read reviews on google that made the salon sound really nice and professional and it absolutely was not. i paid well over $100 for both of our sets and i have had better treatment and nails for a lot less than what this place gave me. read more
